Did anyone enjoy Taylor but felt at 3.5 hours it…. dragged a little?

I admit that i’m not her biggest fan and it was a bit of a fluke that i got a ticket to go with friends.

I enjoy her music and think she’s amazing but a dedicated Swiftie… I am not!

I just felt that it could have been at least thirty mins shorter and would have been more enjoyable. Even amongst the hardened Swifties around us, I sensed a little restlessness.

Anyone else agree?

Goodness - you get tickets to the gig of the year then slag it off?
Stop gloating on here and think of what you've just witnessed. So many people were desperate to see her and have your experience and you sound thoroughly ungrateful.

How nasty
This is a discussion thread. Just because someone didn't sacrifice their first-born in eternal gratitude for being able to attend a song and dance act by a woman with a carbon footprint the size of a small moon, you call them gloaty and ungrategul?
That is some extra level of bitchy shit

greencartbluecart · 24/06/2024 07:50

Well the Edinburgh gig was enjoyed to the last moment by everyone around us

But I grew up with Springsteen so guess I am used to a longer gig

She didn't slag it off. 'think of what you've just witnessed?' It was TS not the second coming! 😂

Misthios · 24/06/2024 07:50

At least you're getting plenty bang for your buck with Taylor Swift. DD went to one of the Edinburgh shows and said it was amazing with loads of energy, costume changes, a real spectacle. Unlike other stars who charge just as much and give you 90 minutes at the most.

Agree. When I was 17 I was listening to Teenage Fanclub and The Wedding Present. TS is an amazing female performer and I don’t ever denigrate that. But her music is obvious. It’s so damn obvious. I don’t get the hype

I got into the Wedding Present in my twenties, stupidly got rid of most of my CDs on a clear out but still have some and of course Spotify. They have some cracking tunes.

We were there last night. Couldn't see anyone flagging and there was enough energy to make Wembley shake with the surprise songs. Only Taylor Swift can pull off a 3 hour show like that.

Nope, Bruce Springsteen in Hyde Park last year was 3 solid hours in stage. No leaving the stage for a costume change or anything. He was in full view singing or talking for 3 whole hours. He's mid 70s now.

Exactly - you spent hundreds on tickets people were desperate to get and think the best you can do afterwards is to pour scorn. It's like Verucca Salt in Willy Wonka.

Some people are deranged and I am not convinced they are fans. Just as boring as the VAT threads IMO.

Oh the irony 😂😂

Fromthenotorious · 24/06/2024 07:53

i spent £75

I must admit I would rather listen to artists just sing rather than keep changing their clothes.

Ndd135632 · 24/06/2024 07:44

@Alwaysthesun24 I love to see women thriving and inspiring and holding it together. She is a resilient successful woman who is inspiring a whole generation of girls. That’s what she stands for. Can’t you see that ? I don’t even like her music but I see that.

I can see that's what she wants us to think. I'm not 100% convinced she is that.

TheTartfulLodger · 24/06/2024 07:54

Yep, inspiring a whole generation of girls to parade about in ridiculous outfits getting laughed at...

PressPauseontheMenopause · 24/06/2024 07:54

I agree OP...a fantastic night, but we left 3 songs before the end to beat the rush (along with lots of others) - I felt I'd had my money's worth by that point and was ready for my bed!

I was just about to say that.

comedycentral · 24/06/2024 07:55

I think for the price some people have paid, it's a generous performance time.

OnAndOnAndonAgain · 24/06/2024 07:56

I always thought she had really shit taste in men, although that may not be a recent thing I suppose

We shouldn't be laughing at girls/women based on what they wear, much as I don't like TS, expressive and creative clothing is fab! Of course there are also other better sources of inspiration than TS.

RampantIvy · 24/06/2024 07:57

Goodness. The posters who think they have superior music tastes are out in force Hmm

What do you get out of sneering at other people's music preferences?

I quite like Taylor Swift, but I'm not a particular fan. I could listen to Bruce Soringsteen, Fleetwood Mac and Dire Straits all day and love classical music, but I don't look down my nose at other acts and display faux naivety at why other people might prefer TS.

Newmum395 · 24/06/2024 07:57

lol sorry newbie here and posted my question on your thread!!

Lilacapples · 24/06/2024 07:57

I guess if you were a dedicated swiftie then it wouldn’t be too long. I couldn’t sit through an hour let alone 3 but with a band I liked I definitely could.

OMG don't tell them that they'll want to kill you!

I was listening to the charts in the car recently when TS had just released her latest 500 songs and the were all completely meh to my ear. I do like some of her big songs but this was like she was just spamming the charts. Do less but better would be my advice - I guess some would say the same about the gig.

'Think what you have just witnessed' - it wasn't the second coming for Christ's sake.
