Did anyone enjoy Taylor but felt at 3.5 hours it…. dragged a little?

I admit that i’m not her biggest fan and it was a bit of a fluke that i got a ticket to go with friends.

I enjoy her music and think she’s amazing but a dedicated Swiftie… I am not!

I just felt that it could have been at least thirty mins shorter and would have been more enjoyable. Even amongst the hardened Swifties around us, I sensed a little restlessness.

Anyone else agree?

I must have been to hundreds of gigs and concerts and all the artists have managed to last with the clothes they came in with.

What did the audience do while she was getting changed?

They must be much better than Taylor then

Saw then earlier this year in New Zealand and I thought they were great. I took 12 year old DD who is a big fan - it was my first time seeing a stadium gig so I was a bit dubious, but I insisted we got standing tickets and we had an absolute blast.

A great set and David Grohl was lovely and managed to stay in the same clothes throughout.

Better at singing and playing maybe, because that is what people go to see (not clothes)

Barely took breath- each costume change took a couple of minutes if that. The music never stopped, there were dancers, set changes etc.
I’ve been to dozens of concerts and operas including at the Sydney Opera House, Covent Garden, festivals where the setting took your breath away, religious festivals of 100,000s of people and I’ve never had such an intense experience.

re The Beatles. I was there the night McCartney was there and really hoped he wouldn’t make a guest appearance. I was very glad he didn’t as the Beatles leave me absolutely cold- I find them soulless, their music doesn’t move me. But guess what- the fact that they’re so insanely popular and have been for so long means I’m the outlier- it certainly doesn’t mean millions of people are wrong and I’m right!

I appreciate we all have different tastes.

I've nothing against Taylor Swift. I'm sure she's a good singer with a phenomenal marketing team.

But with less razzmatazz and fewer outfits, and more singing, the ticket price may have been kept down (and the show more on point for the OP)

It's more of a show than a gig, which is fine - but all the worship and "once in a lifetime generational experience" stuff is a touch OTT.

Have fun choosing your clothes....from what I've seen sparkle cannot be overdone (and that's not a criticism, just in case someone suggests it is).

I’m a fan - knew every song on the set list, knew all the surprise songs my night, put together a quite niche outfit for it. And I thought it was a bit too long. Could have cut a song or two from each of Folklore/Evemore, TTPD and Midnights. But actually the most “boring” bit is the standing ovation after Champagne Problems, so entirely the fans! 😂

The outfit changes took no time at all, most of them are about a minute - it’s all quick change with velcro and poppers and layering and a whole team below the stage to put her into the next one. She goes down on the riser, she walks out from the back in a totally different outfit - it was honestly quite impressive.

@Lillanbjornen what did u wear if u don't mind me asking? I can't decide which Era to go for! I'm not til August but I can't decide!

Ha, so like I say, niche, but I recreated the dress from the beginning of the video for ME! A black v neck tucked into a white tulle skirt that I had stitched fabric flowers onto. People ranged from dressed totally normally, to insanely sparkly little bodysuit dresses like she wears on stage, to interpretations of specific lyrics, so you can’t really go wrong. We had great fun people watching beforehand, and the atmosphere is really positive and fun and everyone complimenting each other. I saw a girl in an amazing green velvet hooded cape that I wish I had occasion for!
