How often do you shave your armpits?

Just out of curiosity since I don't know if everyone does it as often as I do.

Huh?

You think because people don't shave their body hair, they don't wash the hair on their head?

That's a massive stretch...

I would seriously question other things to considering your username 🤔

Agii · 21/06/2024 22:12

Every 2 weeks as I use the IPL, it's really worth it as I hated the effort of shaving (remembering to do it and clogging up my poorly designed shower drain) 🤓

Every day. Legs, pits and Punic hair. Not exhausting. I can't stand body hair on me.

For those of you who shave everyday, how do you do this without getting shaving rashes / sore?

I shave my armpits 2-3 times a week. Legs and pubic hair all come off once, maybe twice a week. I'd shave everyday if I could to make sure I didn't have any hair in those areas as I can't stand it, but it makes me sore! Any tips?

(I will be getting laser when funds allow)

'
I'm not married, but I've never gone short of company and in my experience they love it. Also pubes 👍

Obviously the men who prefer hairless Barbie types aren't talking to me in the first place though, so my frame of reference is skewed'

@SocksAndTheCity

Can we stop with the rhetoric that anyone who prefers not to have pubic hair as being 'Barbie's' or 'childlike'.

A fully down adults vulva is very different to a plastic doll or a child.

The hair keepers don't like it when people shame them for a hairy growler so don't lump us all for being Barbie or child like.

Hair or no hair, who gives a shit. But you can not give a shit without shaming the opposing viewpoints.

Every Monday night as I take my toddler swimming on Tuesday.
and the night before any extra swim sessions, spa trips, date night etc

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 21/06/2024 22:22

Once a year maybe twice. Literally don't grow any hair there but have alao found that is a symtom of premature ovarian insufficiency which l was diagnosed with aged 38.

OooohAhhhh · 21/06/2024 22:24

When I can be bothered! 🤣
I'd say around once a week in summer, but I go for weeks in winter.

user50and · 21/06/2024 22:26

I wax them every 6 weeks

MotherOfDragon20 · 21/06/2024 22:30

One a week when doing a “full shower/shave” or if I’m planning on wearing a best top type dress on a sunny day then on that morning

Normallynumb · 21/06/2024 22:31

All my body hair vanished during the menopause so I don't need to anymore
Pre menopause 2-3 times weekly..

Clearinguptheclutter · 21/06/2024 22:37

Every few days in summer or on holiday when I want to wear sleeveless tops

otherwise almost never

TwattusTwattus · 21/06/2024 22:41

Armpits (and private hair) is trimmed, regrows and trimmed. Never shaved.

It's thick and black. Do not care. I'm attractive and well dressed, so even if someone was to point or make a comment, I'd think they're an idiot and wouldn't care at all.

Not happened to me, anyway.

Husband says he likes it.

It was exhausting when I was paranoid about any little trace of hair. And with dark hair, it's a losing battle. Better to embrace it and make it part of your look, I've found.

Mynaddmawr · 21/06/2024 22:43

Never! I used to as a teen/twenties. Stopped bothering around the 30 mark and actually like the look. Also my armpit skin is so healthy and happy now

LipstickedPowderedAndPainted · 21/06/2024 22:45

Daily. It takes about 30 seconds. Feels much fresher to me.

MonkeyPuddle · 21/06/2024 22:47

I’ve not shaved anything for several years. Have just asked DP what he thinks about my hairy pits, he replied ‘I don’t think owt, am I meant to?’

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 21/06/2024 22:50

Pretty much never these days. I’m not very hairy. I trim it a bit it the summer as I swim a lot. Used to shave if wearing a sleeveless dress but since turning 50 I tend to have short sleeves so don’t do that either now. I never did it more than once a fortnight.

theonlygirl · 21/06/2024 22:51

Springwatch123 · 21/06/2024 20:27

Every two or three days. Less in the winter than the summer.

Same

If people aren't shaving their legs, pits and bits and I'm also questioning at this point if people on here wash their hair regularly then I can now understand how so many people on here have showers in under 2 minutes

How does it correlate? I wash my head hair 4 times a week. That has no link to how often I shave any of my body hair.

OooohAhhhh · 21/06/2024 22:54

For those of you that shave daily, how do you do it?
Mine get really sore if I try to shave when I have minimal hair growth.

Do you have a nickel allergy?

Genuine ( not arsey) question to the non shavers ( or retired shavers): how do your DH’s react?

My dh thinks it's brilliant I've decided to stop shaving. He agrees it's dumb that women shave where men don't have to. He was very supportive of my decision to stop.

If he had been dead against it, I would have told him to eff off though tbh. I would have probably said "if you shave your legs, pubes and underarms, so will I."

SocksAndTheCity · 21/06/2024 22:57

I didn't mean that being hairless specifically was Barbie-like, @nupnup . I meant that I (hair or no hair) am about as far from Barbie-like as it's possible to get, although I do have huge boobs.

Apologies if that was unclear. I'm well aware that an adult woman looks nothing like a child, mostly because I have functioning eyes 👍

Dramatic · 21/06/2024 22:59

Only if they're going to be visible, which isn't very often because I'm usually wearing sleeves

Mostlyoblivious · 21/06/2024 23:02

I wax them myself. I hate both shaving them and the results of shaving.

wintersgold · 21/06/2024 23:04

Got myself laser hair removal - life changer. Very minimal upkeep now
