Just out of curiosity since I don't know if everyone does it as often as I do.

Once a week

DutchCowgirl · 22/06/2024 08:49

I had hydradenitis suppurativa several times. So i have ugly scars in my armpits. A little hair prevents the skin from getting infected. So I only trim it a little and leave it be. If people find the hair gross: they should take a look when i have a skin infection in my armpits.

SamanthaVimes · 22/06/2024 08:51

Maybe 2 or 3 times a year. I’ll shave if I have a big event or holiday but not bothered other than that.
People can see I’ve got armpit hair, nobody has ever said anything or given me funny looks. It’s just hair.

I would seriously question other things to considering your username 🤔

Hahaha 🤣 - it's based on someone misreading something on a Mumsnet thread, rather than my underwear situation 😁

I epilate them, so once every six weeks. Grows back so slowly when done this way.

Svolvaer · 22/06/2024 09:09

Never. I epilated them a few times (painful!) and it never grew back.

orangeleopard · 22/06/2024 09:19

once or twice a week. I have dark thick hair that grows back very quickly, but I also have sensitive skin so I always get those uncomfortable itchy bumps from shaving. I wish I had the confidence to not shave them, I know it would be better for my skin if I didn’t - but I always end up feeling self conscious with them on show, even if there’s only a little bit of hair.

Piglet89 · 22/06/2024 09:21

Never; I wax and it stays hairless much longer.

TootGoesTheOwl · 22/06/2024 09:35

OooohAhhhh · 21/06/2024 22:54

For those of you that shave daily, how do you do it?
Mine get really sore if I try to shave when I have minimal hair growth.

Honestly, ditch the razor and wax/epilate!
The more you do it the less hair grows back over time and the longer you can go inbetween treatments.
I can't believe how many women still shave when we can literally get to the root of the problem 😆

HazelLion · 22/06/2024 09:44

Every day, but I have a home IPL device that's really thinned out density of hair so it just takes a quick swipe of the razor now.

swayingpalmtree · 22/06/2024 09:47

Daily in the shower, just part of my routine and takes less than 10 seconds. I've tried waxing before but I get horrific redness and ingrown hairs (this happens even when I've had it done professionally) and shaving doesnt irritate my skin whatsoever so it works for me. I dont find hair there gross or anything, its just a personal grooming preference.

socks1107 · 22/06/2024 09:56

I do it daily in the shower

Sue152 · 22/06/2024 10:02

Occasionally in the summer. I can't be bothered the rest of the time.

Roundroundthegarden · 22/06/2024 10:17

I have done laser to almost all area about 10years ago and it really has been one of the best things I did. I get one or two random hairs every 4/5 months and a quick swipe of my epilator and I'm good to go for another 4/5 months. I'm dark haired too so this really has been one of the best decisions for me.

zingally · 22/06/2024 10:18

When I wash my hair, which is 2-3 times a week. But if I was wearing a sleeveless top, which I rarely do anyway, then I'd shave them fresh that morning.

Legs however... Maybe 4 times a year. I hardly ever "get my legs out" as I have lipodema and have big fatty deposits around my knees which I hate.

LemonySnickets · 22/06/2024 10:18

Every morning in the shower.

KimberleyClark · 22/06/2024 10:22

Those who shave every day and then apply deodorant, don’t your armpits get sore?

Sunnyjac · 22/06/2024 10:24

I’ve recently stopped doing mine (was once a week) because I don’t want my teenage DD feeling she has to start. I only started due to the beauty expectations of the day and I don’t want any of my girls to feel they have to do things simply because that’s the ‘beauty standard’. Reinforced when DH asked me the other “does X need to start shaving her armpits?” I said “why is it a need?” We’re so conditioned!

Neither do I, but they would still get sore if I shaved and applied deodorant every day.

I use Fussy - its very gentle yet effective

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 22/06/2024 12:02

Every day. Legs every day in summer, every other day in winter when they're not on show. I also wax my arms. Can't think of anything worse than hairy pits in my gym vest.

Have been doing it for 35 years now. I hated being hairy as a child so the moment I was 11 I started shaving.

Vizella · 22/06/2024 13:38

I had mine lasered but it didn't completely get rid of all the hair so I trim them once every two weeks.
