Was in bed last night, DH visibly scratched his bum then put his hand under my nose. Immediately lost my shit and left the room. He thought he was being funny but I can't even look at him.

I appreciate that a large proportion of people don't find this amusing, and I can understand that some people might find it distasteful, but the level of over-reaction is quite astounding, even for Mumsnet. I can't quite believe that people are seriously suggesting that the OP should leave her husband, who she presumably made a lifetime commitment to, because he scratched his bum and put his finger under her nose! 😆😆😆

It is just not something I’d expect a fully evolved grown up man to do. I saw a gorilla put his finger on another gorillas anus and smell it once. This man is as unevolved as that. Personally I’m not necessarily saying LTB but I would say she needs to have a serious talk to her husband because she is disgusted by it.

personally I’d be feeling really disrespected and grossed out by him doing something like that. And I’d also wonder if he has been watching some kind of weird porn. It could be the start of a slippery slope.

I would never tolerate that behaviour now but when I was in my early 20s there was one guy who would deliberately fart near me in the bed and laugh despite knowing I was disgusted by it . He was about 7 years older than me as well. His behaviour slowly become more degrading over that summer and I’m glad I escaped him a couple of months later. It turned out he had what I think is called a degradation kink.

I don’t care what other pp say, I’ve been married almost 30 years and I couldn’t be with someone who thought that was funny. I’d have a very serious talk with him and stay in the spare room until he really understood that nothing like that can happen again.
