Yes I know, another XL bulky thread. But seriously, this breed is like a mine field, randomly killing owners all over. You never know when/where it will happen next.

I truly can't wrap my head around people like this woman - may she rest in peace - who are all over the internet defending these KILLERS. They all think theirs is different, theirs would never kill, theirs is a big softy.

Is it time to do something more serious? The legislation brought in doesn't seem to have stopped deaths, although at least it does appear to be the owners (who are stupid enough to keep them) who are dying now instead of innocent members of the public.

XL Bully owner was celebrating birthday when she was mauled to death - as videos emerge of her defending breed

An XL Bully owner killed by her dog had just come home from celebrating her birthday when she was mauled to death.

My friend and her dog were attacked by an XL bully on Friday, luckily her dog is a staffy or it would likely have been killed, she's also got terrible wounds to her hands from trying to protect him. The woman involved is now posting all over social media that it's the innocent staffy at fault! They're a menace because they're too often owned by people like this!

The police should immediately confiscate that woman's dog, it's a disaster waiting to happen, and she's an irresponsible owner.

Next time it could be someone's child running about on the grass or something. This is why owners should have training and licencing with a points system so encounters like this get logged.

Your poor friend, I'm so sorry, she must be very shocked and traumatised. As well as in pain and very concerned about the wounds to her hands.
It's beyond belief the people are allowed to have pets that do this much damage to other people on their pets.
And as usual the owner is a moron who runs off shreiking that it was someone else's fault 🤬🤬🤬
Fucking hell 🤬
I hope the owner is fined heavily at the very least and the dog destroyed.

Tessabelle74 · 11/06/2024 14:27

She was arrested and is on bail, the dog has been seized and will be destroyed. It's the dog I feel sorry for most, it wasn't his fault, she's bred him this way, but he absolutely needs to be PTS. Scariest if all is that's she's bred puppies with him so there's at least 5 of his offspring out there with the same genetic make up, tragedies waiting to happen!

What have the Police said, given that an XL Bully shouldn't be out in public without a muzzle and lead?

I think this is where the BSL should really kick in. Any misdemeanours at all, whether on dogs or people, should result in the dogs being seized and euthanised.

This doesn't even sit under 'dog on dog, not our problem', as the owner is breaking the law by having the dog unmuzzled. I would also add the injuries to the owner, but the usual line here is that it's difficult to tell which dog did it.

Luckily there were witnesses to prove it was her dog doing the biting, it was throwing the poor staffy around like a rag doll by it's ears and head, he has really nasty puncture wounds to his head and his ear is badly torn, not to mention the trauma to both of them.

That's why she rushed straight off to social media to try and spin the narrative in her favor, she knows she is in deep deep shit.

Great🙄

I wouldn't be surprised if half of them end up in my neck of the woods. XL Bully haven.

Something has to be done about this free for all breeding that's going on.

LooneyLiberalSpaceWaster · 11/06/2024 16:10

Tessabelle74 that is horrific, I hope your friend and her poor dog recover quickly. I can't imagine the horror and fear she must have felt. Some monstrous thing of 50 plus kg throwing her dog around like a rag. Staffs are usually only about 14kg so for a bully it would literally be like tossing a toy around. Its horrifying. I hope the idiot owner does time if its found to be XL type and unmuzzled. Its tantamount to running around the park with a loaded gun.

mossylog · 11/06/2024 21:11

Some of the owners really are clueless, make all kinds of excuses for their XL Bullies even after they've repeatedly mauled other dogs in public. The warning signs are there, they just don't want to see them!

This FB exchange was really striking (I've omitted the picture of smaller dog's injuries)— one woman was saying she was hounded off of local FB group by people saying her dog had mauled a Jack Russel. She plays down the incident, saying her Bully only 'nipped' it, only for another woman to comment on the post showing a picture of another dog who'd been attacked by this woman's Bully a month before.

HollyKnight · 11/06/2024 21:23

"My dog only nipped your dog because you were being hostile to me."

It's scary what bullshit people come up with to excuse themselves from any responsibility. They actually believe it too.

LordPercyPercy · 11/06/2024 21:59

@mossylog what's terrifying is that a grown man can stamp on one of the thing's bricklike heads and it apparently barely registers and it can still give chase.

beergiggles · 11/06/2024 23:01

@mossylog
The owners are cretins, all of them.
I was encouraged to learn that in the attack mentioned by @Tessabelle74 the animal has been seized and will be destroyed. I hope that things may start to change as the cretins realise this will happen to them too.

dawngreen · 11/06/2024 23:48

It still did not stop the 12 year olds from killing some one. So do we kill them too? or are we supposed to pass it off as rough and tumble, because kids can think, and know right from wrong?

i am really confused. What didn’t stop the 12 year olds killing someone? People and dogs are not the same.

Are you suggesting we set up dog prisons for these dogs? Have a trial? Have purpose built prisons for them where they are kept in a kennel all day and let out once a day. And they can’t socialise with eachother so only out for an individual walk? Who would be staffing these? Since even the owners of these dogs aren’t safe.

who has passed off the 12 years olds murdering someone as thought and tumble?

yumyumyumy · 12/06/2024 03:50

At least in 10-12 years time this breed will have mostly died out unless bred illegally. It's not their fault but they are too dangerous to exist. I actively cross the road when I see these things. Complete morons stopping to have chats to owners about how lovely the dogs are.

Utterly delusional. Scary. Shame the police haven't taken the dog. It will attack another dog again, just a matter of time. She even rewards it afterwards with it's favourite dog food. You can't make it up.

One thing here is that the police usually aren't interested in dog attacks against other dogs, and council dog wardens are pretty toothless. So you can have a clearly aggressive dog repeatedly harm other dogs and you know that nothing will be done about it until it attacks a person.

IndecentPropolis · 12/06/2024 12:06

It’s utterly ridiculous that the police can do nothing about dog on dog attacks. I’d have thought that my dog counts as my property and that as such, someone else’s dog attacking mine would be classed as destruction of my property.

Have I got this right @dawngreen you are making a direct analogy between the 12 year old boys who committed murder, and Pitbull type dogs who have killed humans.
And what you are saying is that because we do not execute the 12 year old boys we should not euthanize the dogs?
You are aware that animals are farmed and then slaughtered for their meat?

In theory you're right, but the UK police dedicate very little time and resources to tackling property crimes. The majority of burglaries etc all go unsolved.

I'd be interested in reading the rest of the comments. Could you PM me the group please?

I know, they are pond life, cretins. But they are cretins with terrifying dogs which they might set on you if you piss them off😱🥴
This is the only power they are ever going to get in life and they're going to use it 😱🥴
