What would your children be called if you gave them the name you came up with as a boy/girl?

I would have a Ryder (male) and a Zola or Nova.

Came up with them when I was probably 15/16.

Not horrifically horrendous but I would now be disappointed had I become a teen mum.

Girl: only ever liked Chloe growing up…. DD isn’t called Chloe.

Boy: I had Jack, Brad & Travis 🤣

Fecked · 28/05/2024 21:49

Floyd and Marianne

Wanttobeok · 28/05/2024 21:51

Boy probably Sean or Connor

Girl Kaitlin

Hate them all now!

IDontKnowMargot · 28/05/2024 21:54

Asia Corrinne or Romany Danielle 🙈🙈

Myusernamemustbeatleastthreecharacters · 28/05/2024 21:57

Lilac-Rose
🤢

Ponoka7 · 28/05/2024 21:59

A boy would have been Oliver, Jack, Joe, Victor (favourite actors). A girl Estella (great expectations).

MonaChopsis · 28/05/2024 22:03

Oh god am I the only one who used the name I liked as a child?! DD would have been (and is!) a Katie...

GreenMarigold · 28/05/2024 22:04

Iona and Tristan. I still quite like both names!

Newyearoldhair · 28/05/2024 22:07

Timothy for a boy ( after a friends gorgeous older brother)
Prague for a girl 😱

CammyChameleon · 28/05/2024 22:17

Ocean, Stella, Ace...

I think Stella's quite nice still, but I never had a girl and it didn't make it onto any of the "girl names" lists during my pregnancies in any case.

Temperature!

Also remember liking Daria and Ksenia (had a weird obsession with fashion models in the mid 2000s and often watched the channel
FashionTV).

Adelaide

Didn't pick a boys name when I was a child 😆

FastnetLundyRockall · 29/05/2024 00:19

Damaris or Lana for a girl, Aleksandar or Danilo for a boy.

Angrymum22 · 29/05/2024 00:31

Kieren - boy , I had a crush on Kieren Bracken the 90s rugby player. It was an unusual name back then.
Kazia - for girl, after a great aunt. I prefer the old fashioned pronunciation kuz-eye-er.

Mama2many73 · 29/05/2024 01:27

Girl -charlotte/Charlie
Boy _ taryn ( still love this, but too late for us)

Sam0207 · 29/05/2024 02:52

I was pregnant at 17 and wanted to call my baby (if a girl) Tara (but pronounced Ta-rah - like the house in Gone with the wind). Till my Dad said "Oh like Taramasalata." That put an end to that as we were a very nickname-y family, I knew she'd get stuck with that!
Ended up going with a very traditional Charlotte.

Mamai100 · 29/05/2024 03:34

When I was 12 my friends cousin had a baby and called her Tammy-Jordan which I thought was just stunning 😂. Anything with Jordan in either male of female was right up my street.

Thankfully I went for more classic names 20 years down the line.

When I was really young - Brittany or Brittanie (why?!) I remember endless writing it in awful bubble writing. It was wasn’t Britney and was before Spears anyway so can’t blame that. Must have come from 90210 or similar. Cringe.

As an older teen - Lauren

DD is Felicity so nowhere near really!

The bubble writing!

That's brought back memories, I'd forgotten about the bubble writing!

JMSA · 29/05/2024 03:51

When I was little, I saw the word 'Demerara' on a bag of sugar, and decided it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen Blush

My daughters would have been called Angela and Demerara.

Princessfluffy · 29/05/2024 03:59

I liked the names from The Magic Roundabout and also Jemima from Playschool.

JoniBlue · 29/05/2024 05:48

I am not sure about a boy name, but a girl would have been Lisa Marie.

GetyourheadoutoftheovenIris · 29/05/2024 06:00

As a teen it would have been Pixie or Nesta. I even knew what they would have looked like 😂

Justleaveitblankthen · 29/05/2024 06:03

Mandy.
Not Amanda, just Mandy.
I was an avid reader of Mandy the comic and her dog Patch. 😁

Freysimo · 29/05/2024 06:40

Xanthe. She'd have spent her whole life spelling it out for people!
