What would your children be called if you gave them the name you came up with as a boy/girl?

I would have a Ryder (male) and a Zola or Nova.

Came up with them when I was probably 15/16.

Not horrifically horrendous but I would now be disappointed had I become a teen mum.

Venezuela and Lucy

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/05/2024 17:48

Sam

DC1 is called Sam

RedHelenB · 28/05/2024 17:48

Mine have the names I wanted for them since I first thought of having children. Didn't change my mind from 14 year old me.

LegoFootPain · 28/05/2024 17:48

Tiffany and Bailey

FindingMeno · 28/05/2024 17:49

Bethany and Jasmine.
No boys names.

PossumintheHouse · 28/05/2024 17:51

I was boring, never came up with anything unique or wacky. My favourite girls names were Giselle, Annabelle and April. Still quite like them all.

Firebird83 · 28/05/2024 17:51

Ariadne and Zacchaeus “Zacc” 😂

DD and DS have very classic, traditional names

MammaTill2Pojkar · 28/05/2024 17:51

When I was around mid teens;
Kai and Byron for boys
Kasumi for a girl

I really wanted boy-girl twins to name them Kai and Kasumi which would mean Ocean Mist between them.

I've only got boys and one of them has a version of one of those names (became too popular for my tastes when I finally had him) and the other has a completely different name. If we had a girl now (we're two and through) she would have a Greek name like Kallista or I have recently come to like Inara as an option.

Harley or Tatiana for a girl. My cousin put me off Harley saying she’d grow up with lots of jokes about riding a bike/Harley. I still like Tatiana just not as much as I like the names I choose.

James Byron for a boy after James Dean. Unfortunately I had a very horrible encounter with a James now I absolutely hate the name. My DH has James as a middle name and I’ve never ever said his middle name. Actually I probably said it during our vows but blocked it out.

tiggergoesbounce · 28/05/2024 17:55

Florence if a girl.

Florence if a girl.

This is a gorgeous name

Zanatdy · 28/05/2024 18:27

Well I was a teen mum and named him Nathan, though he goes by his middle name ‘Dan’. I was going to name him Georgia or Georgina had he been a girl. Neither my ex nor I like the name we had for a girl when ds2 was born (I was 27 then), and glad DD didn’t come along until I was 31 and had better taste

This is a gorgeous name

I know a little Florence, the name suits her, it’s a beautiful name.

Itiswhysofew · 28/05/2024 18:41

Amelia Jane - book
Violet - doll
Archibald - book

ladygindiva · 28/05/2024 18:46

Joel or Nathaniel. Loved both names throughout childhood. Never had a boy ( 3DDs) but if I had I may still have used them.

rainbowbee · 28/05/2024 18:48

Esmeralda and Vladimir. 😳 If I'd had them as an adult it would have been Anna and Dominic.

Onda · 28/05/2024 18:53

Lara and Daryl. Only have boys and they aren't called Daryl, but I still quite like it. Probably a good thing I went off Lara long before I had a child!

TellMeWhoTheVillainsAre · 28/05/2024 18:56

As a 7 year old I called my baby doll Pollyanna!

As a teenager I'd have probably picked something from Home & Away. I remember liking Blake and Finlay!

TomatoSandwiches · 28/05/2024 18:57

DS1 Hazel
DD1 Harrison
DS2 Jessica

Ponderingwindow · 28/05/2024 18:59

Like every girl who watched Splash and thought the mermaid’s name was oh, so unique, Madison.

iAmBarbara · 28/05/2024 19:01

Lucy or Cassie (and as a little girl I would have been absolutely horrified at the thought of having boys!)

Fontainebleau007 · 28/05/2024 19:02

Aleira for a girl. I have 2 boys though and a different name if I ever do have a girl 😆

allfurcoatnoknickers · 28/05/2024 19:04

Girl would have been Violet and a boy would have been Ashley or Elliott.

I still love the name Violet, but it doesn't go with our surname at all, so we couldn't use it for DD

Hankunamatata · 28/05/2024 19:05

Aurora

Rhubarblin · 28/05/2024 19:07

I decided (age 10) I was going to have two girls...

  1. Maxine-Crystal
  2. Binky-Silver

I did have two girls and I did choose different names 😆
