To ask your filthy guilty pleasure food

The cake thread got me thinking - what’s your guilty pleasure food? Something that you objectively know is total rubbish but which you can’t get enough of.

I hold my hands up to liking chicken and sweetcorn pot noodles. I very very rarely have one but just occasionally, I do get the urge.

Also, dirt cheap takeaway pizza. The kind with non-specific tasteless cheese and tomato puree.

Curry pot noodle. Very rarely but sometimes I just can’t resist!

coupdetonnerre · 28/05/2024 02:50

Right now I'm on a carb free diet but keep thinking of condensed milk. I'd love a few spoons with red velvet cake

It's been two years since I stopped eating ultra processed food, so these days my guilty pleasure is white sourdough bread.

This sounds fantastic. Fresh sourdough... maybe with a few slices of cheese?

Oh but I used to go to this amazing bakery (sadly moved away now) and the bread they sold was so fresh. It made the most divine cheese sandwiches, no need for any butter or mayo!

marshmallowfinder · 28/05/2024 03:27

Spaghetti with butter, salt and pepper and a bit of cheese. Sometimes marmite swirled in too.

Me too. I was just at a specialty chocolate shop questioning my life choices.

I wouldn't say filthy or guilty but in recent times I've taken to eating pots of Ambrosia creamed rice pudding as a snack. I really like it and just had one (I woke at just before 3am and felt a bit peckish).

Wishingitwaswinter · 28/05/2024 04:05

Paxo sage and onion stuffing mix. Sometimes I just cook the whole box and pile it on a plate with gravy. It's basically eating a plate of sage and onion stuffing for dinner.

Cheesy chips with instant gravy. Delish

This. Just so good.

I go all out now and get a double cheeseburger with EXTRA pickles... Heaven.

Same!

2021x · 28/05/2024 05:44

Dirty Doughnuts.. the type you used to be able to get from Asda at 5 for a pound.

ArcticBells · 28/05/2024 05:52

Double cream on muesli (with milk)

rosaleetree · 28/05/2024 05:58

Diet Coke and monster munch
Agree with cream on museli
Those tinned treacle/strawberry puddings with lashings of custard

Hottoffeesauce · 28/05/2024 06:00

Tinned, meat pie (think Fray Bentos), ready made mash potato and baked beans. 1970's vibe and delicious.

Sleepismyfavourite · 28/05/2024 06:19

Another vote for McDonalds cheeseburgers. Next time will try getting double with extra gherkins!
Cheese & onion pasty with baked beans
Pot noodle or 30p noodles with white bread on the side
Baked potato with lots of butter, sweetcorn, humus & baked beans.

This is what DH said! Only it has to be with chips.

Im feeling quite 😇 reading this thread, they all sound 🤮.

Cheesy chips and gravy, absolute filth

Canadian staple right there. It's called Poutine

Cheddar cheese curds (cheddar chunks before it's pressed together to become cheese) and beef gravy and of fresh cracked black pepper

BCBird · 28/05/2024 06:55

Ginger nut biscuit with.butter on. Nice on white bread sandwich. Like a banana sandwich on brown bread. Bet it would be tasty with a ginger biscuit crushed into it

I'm with you on the Pot Noodles - that with a diet coke. I swear it's a hangover cure.

My mum used to only buy there for me if i was ill (weird time to buy me food with zero nutritional value, but there's the eighties for you!).

I also used to love the mini kievs stuffed with cheese, but you always had to cook them just under the recommended time otherwise they'd explode and just be hollow chicken bites.......

Worldwide2 · 28/05/2024 07:06

Cheesy chips with lashings of mayo
Crisp sandwich on white bread and the crisps have to be roast chicken flavour
Rustlers burger 😋

merrymelodies · 28/05/2024 07:08

Poutine (mentioned upthread) is heaven. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water! Otherwise, a warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream.

Greeneyegirl · 28/05/2024 07:09

Beef and tomato pot noodle or chicken and mushroom pot noodle. King size

Heirian · 28/05/2024 07:14

Raw sliced potato dipped in vegetable stock powder. I guess more weird than filthy lol.

There's more than one post here which makes me want to ask, 'How did you discover this?, but I find yours the most compelling.

How did you discover this?

Digestive biscuits with cream cheese.

Cornedbeef and cream cheese sandwiches
