That women should not have to share changing rooms with men

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13459927/NHS-chiefs-legal-action-female-nurses-changing-room-transgender.html

This is absolutely horrific and probably the first of many cases we will see now. Please read the article in full but this alone is appalling. The response by their HR should be noted because that is what is going to happen to every woman who complains about this if we keep allowing these fraudulent men to get away with what they want.

One of the nurses told The Mail on Sunday: 'We don't feel safe because we strip down to our underwear and [the individual] doesn't just stay by his locker. 'He walks around the changing room in his boxer shorts.'
Another nurse said she was 'close to tears' during one incident in the changing room.
She said: 'I was rummaging in my bag trying to find my lanyard and keys for the locker when a man's voice behind me said, 'Are you not getting changed yet?' 'I found my keys and opened my locker and I was asked again, 'Are you not getting changed yet?'.'
The woman, who was sexually abused as a child, has posttraumatic stress disorder and struggles to be alone around men. She said: 'He stood there, two metres away from me, with a scrub top on and with tight black boxer shorts with holes in them and asked a third time whether I was getting changed yet.
'Flight or fight mode kicked in but I felt glued to my seat, I could not move. 'My hands started to sweat. I was petrified and felt sick and began hyperventilating.'
In March, 26 nurses wrote to management saying that the transgender nurse 'has made no secret' of the fact that 'he has stopped taking female hormones and is trying to inseminate his female partner'.
AIBU to suggest NOW is the time to wake up, en masse and stop allowing BE KIND to be a mantra that allows predatory men access to women at their most vulnerable.

In what other class of humanity do you demand no rotten apples?

We’ve had horror stories recently about male surgeons. @ArabellaScott pointed out a case of a female, a trans man, recently milling a female nurse. This was well upthread and only a new poster and I commented. Another PP got the gender of the killer wrong.

We have female and male parents and teachers as well as children who abuse and kill. Also clergy and police, of course.

SJB is despicable but no worse than others. All victims are equally worthy of protection. I agree fully with reasonable levels of protection for women. You do you. I focus my energy on other groups I regard as more vulnerable

As I said, I will leave the law to lawyers

I realise there will be rotten apples anywhere.

However society does it's best usually to minimise the worst behaviour.

Single sex spaces.
We already know its mostly men who cause the most amount of problems, so where its necessary, we keep them out.
This social contract has been in place for ages, only recently have handmaids come right out and said, men matter waaay more than women.

This article is only about intersex. I was searching on ‘chromosomal invariance’. I am interested in a source for your claim that the latter means intersex. None in the Cleveland Clinic link you sent along

People who are intersex have genitals, chromosomes or reproductive organs that don’t fit into a male/female sex binary

Very first bit of writing on the landing page.

Was it higher level of debate you wanted?

ExtraDay · 28/05/2024 13:58

Hold on, Winning. The disagreement isn't the chromosomes but the word invariance, I think. Poetry is saying that chromosomes don't change, and that's correct.

ExtraDay · 28/05/2024 13:59

Winnading, sorry

Not heard of Primark porn then?

No, I'm guessing that's some Internet rumour? I don't pay much attention to them. I focus on real life personal experiences and experiences of those I know personally. Never been any problems with the unisex changing rooms at the pool and they've been there around 15 years. I worked at the leisure centre for a while too and its a small town so I'm pretty confident I would know if there had been issues. Never any issues with gender neutral toilets in the uni I went to and never any issues in the gender neutral toilets in a club I went to in my younger days.

Yeah but in your “younger” days we didn’t have the trans agenda that is being pushed today so you are not comparing like with like. Back in the day, a male in the female changing rooms would have been arrested rather than the women being told to #bekind to them.

In the gender neutral toilets at the Uni I worked at a few years ago, the floors were covered in piss, the sanitary bins were taken out of the cubicles and jumped on/smashed, free sanitary wear was ripped apart and rendered unusable, obscene comments aimed at women were written on the walls (including rape threats at named female students) and all the toilet roll was stuffed down the toilets so female students couldn’t wipe properly.

And just because something hasn’t happened to you or your friends “personally” doesn’t mean it’s not an important issue.

Hows that 'higher level of debate' going for you.

Who do you suppose does the writing?

The total number of physically transitioned convicted sex offenders brought to my attention so far is exactly one. Glad of more evidence in the interests of fairness

I agree and can’t say it’s evident despite posts claiming so

But there seems to be an appeal to the law whilst distinguishing men with a GRC as ‘gorgeous’ in the case of one link or ‘unflattering’ in the case of another.

Legislation doesn’t distinguish between the two, nor does it divide into men with surgery and non surgery for GRCs

What does physically transitioned mean to you.

I'll guess at operations many dont have and hormones?

Are they still men after said operations and or hormones?

I'll give you a clue, no, they are still men.

If a man loses his penis in a war zone is he still a man? Or some type of woman?

See link to itll never happen. Many many trans women of uncertain medical history as we cant ask, are listed there doing generally unlawful and disgusting things to women and animals.

Who is law maker in UK?
The Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the UK Parliament, the British Parliament, the Westminster Parliament or "Westminster", is the supreme legislative body for the United Kingdom and for English Law.

spannasaurus · 28/05/2024 15:41

I have a question for Poetryandwine. You seem to be saying that only men who have had genital surgery should be legally recognised as women. If the law was changed to have this effect it would mean that legal rights would be dependent on a person being sterilised. Do you believe that it is ok for someones legal rights to be dependent on them being sterilised?

We need a way to count the physically transitioned in order to test any hypothesis about them against your link, @Winnading They appear to be a very small percentage of the transgendered.

I am not interested enough to pursue this rather intricate question. If someone wishes to do so and to describe their methodology I would be interested to see it

This is a very interesting question. I think there can be a middle way and that it would take legal expertise and good will to find it.

Are you the person who brought up the situation in Japan? If so can you tell us more?

I don't understand what you think the middle way might be if you only want men who have had genital surgery to be treated as women.
