No, I don’t think a Labour government will set the world on fire, and I’m not particularly excited by the prospect but BLOODY HELL I can’t wait to see the back of this lot.

Stick them all on a plane to Rwanda.

I’ve got everything crossed that Rees Mogg in particular loses his seat.

Spikyplant · 22/05/2024 19:56

They needed to go about 7 years ago! Bring on the 4th July!!

Greenbather · 22/05/2024 19:57

This is the only time I can say THANK YOU Rishi, for calling the GE we all want and need. Good bye, it was not nice to know you.

ThePoshUns · 22/05/2024 19:59

I can remember the relief when labour got in last time, can't wait to feel it again in July

I won’t vote for the Tories but I’m not voting for any party that thinks a person can change sex or that a woman can have a penis so who do I vote for?

Oh stop with all this shit.
It's so bloody tedious.

Purplevioletsherbert · 22/05/2024 20:07

They are all awful but I’m at least excited for a new government that wants to prove itself. Thats GOT to be better than this shit show.

If there was a bomb in front of you but a knackered old bus that took you away from it, would you stay with the bomb or get on the bus?

Get on the fucking bus.

Spikyplant · 22/05/2024 20:12

I've just realised I don't remember the last time labour got in because I was only a child! And then my whole working adult life has been under tory power. To say I'm excited, would be an understatement!!

D3vonmaid · 22/05/2024 20:14

OMG yes! Tories gave us austerity, brexit, mis handling of the pandemic and Liz bloody Truss. They can fuck off now, and stay away.

AppleKatie · 22/05/2024 20:19

Sunak’s speech first made me laugh - of course he mentioned furlough the only thing he’s been responsible for that is vaguely popular. But then it made me really angry, no need to start the whole thing off with personal attacks on Starmer- you don’t like the man of course Rishi- but his running down of labour was just so undignified and he was telling obvious lies.

by comparison Starmer was measured and calm and he mentioned the sewage/rivers so despite having lots of points of disagreement with the man he’s got my vote.

iamwhatiam23 · 22/05/2024 20:21

I honestly don't know whats worse the prospect of another 4 years of the current shower of shit government or the thought of slimeball keir starmer and the odious angela along with their merry band of hypocrites! We are fucked either way!

Angrymum22 · 22/05/2024 20:30

Starmer is not Tony Blair with his famous New Labour.
Current Labour seem to be lacklustre and very confusing.
Blair won over the country with his promise of middle of the road socialism which appealed to both sides.
Starmer is undecided about women and his side kick is under investigation.
My money is on Angela Rayner having to stand down as the shit hits the fan in the coming weeks which is why the Tories have gone for a snap election. Probably timed to coincide with ARs downfall and Sturgeon being charged.

the80sweregreat · 22/05/2024 20:33

Still could be a hung Parliament ..
People are not convinced by KS or the Labour Party and I know my conservative MP isn't going anywhere. I have never voted conservative ever , but I know plenty who will and Reform and Green.
This election isn't a given at all and the conservatives are good at elections.
This will be fought on immigration, gender ID and how labour is bad with the economy.
Six weeks is a long time in politics and the conservatives will play hard ball.

Combattingthemoaners · 22/05/2024 20:37

Couldn’t agree more! I cannot wait to see the back of the self-serving wankers!

Wewelcomeyourfeedback · 22/05/2024 20:38

Whoever you bloody well want to. That’s what democracy is. You don’t need our opinion.

TheSpicyOne · 22/05/2024 20:58

I will be voting Reform as will many family, friends and work colleagues.

Both the Tories and Labour have together completely trashed this country.

Time to give another party a go.

Feelingstrange2 · 22/05/2024 21:05

After so many years of Tory rule we need a change and Labour will at least care and I trust Keir Starmer to not encourage the sort of self interested spending excesses that have been so prevalent under Tory rule.

I look.forward to an election night Bingo session saying goodbye to all the Tory hard hitters that havent already jumped the rat infested ship!
