No, I don’t think a Labour government will set the world on fire, and I’m not particularly excited by the prospect but BLOODY HELL I can’t wait to see the back of this lot.

Stick them all on a plane to Rwanda.

I’ve got everything crossed that Rees Mogg in particular loses his seat.

YANBU @noblegiraffe. I look forward to a boring, competent government getting on with the job in hand.

It's time for this bunch of corrupt, incompetent, chaotic Conservatives to go!

Vote for whoever you want, but please don't make this a single issue election. That's what they want! And never forget..

Parties at Downing Street while our 999 call centers weren't allowed to share snacks over Xmas shifts

No PPE for our nurses and doctors

Discharges to care homes

"Let the bodies pile high" (Boris)

Barnard Castle 👀

100,000 excess deaths

Illegally shutting down parliament to prevent diplomatic process on Brexit

Two PMs who were never elected

24 hour waits in A&E, people are dying in the waiting rooms

Shortages of medication, food, small businesses going bust.. BREXIT :/

Classrooms without a permanent teacher. Schools with no resources.

No GP appointments. No dentists for so many.

Nurses using food banks.

7% mortgages and a crashed economy

25,000 company insolvencies in 2023 - the highest rates in 30 years

Absolutely useless and unaffordable public transport

Ever decreasing promises on climate change efforts

Inhuman treatment of the most vulnerable in our society

The UK is the lowest ranking it has ever been in the global corruption index - "This sharp fall in the UK’s score is a powerful indictment of a recent decline in standards in government and controls over the use of taxpayer money"

And we can't go swimming because our rivers and our seas are FULL OF SHIT while water companies have made record profits

Corruption, dishonesty and contempt for normal people is the Tory legacy.

👏 👏 👏

How anyone can vote Tory after this shower of corrupt liars, I cannot fathom. I think they must be insane.

Feel a frisson of excitement for the night of 4th July as you look through this list of predicted Tory seat losses (note Johnson has already gone).

Picture asking people the next day "were you up for Suella Braverman?"

Yes … I was just remembering ‘did you stay up for Portillo’ in 1997!

Exactly this. I am not particularly excited by the thought of a Labour govt, purely because they're inheriting such a monumental shitshow that it will be hard for them to do anything radical or inspiring for a long time.

But, frankly, a few years of quiet, dull competence in the wake of the absolute fucking rollercoaster of lies, insanity and corruption we've been on since 2010 would be welcome.

I will, however, be sitting up all night on the 4th-5th and opening more than one bottle of champagne as Suella, Rees-Mogg etc all get their just desserts! Cannot wait!

How the fuck can anyone say that Keir Starmer will be 'the same' as the government that gave us Boris Johnson and Liz fucking Truss?

Hate Tories, don't like Labour with Keir as a head. What to do??

Exactly - it’s utterly ridiculous. Truss was the most incompetent PM we’ve had for many decades but Johnson is the worst. A vile, vile man who has done so much to damage the political fabric of this country. Repulsive 🤬

User2460177 · 23/05/2024 00:02

I find Labour really uninspiring ansi have concerns that they will promote gender ideology which is contrary to women’s rights. So not bothered- id rather just not have change (not that I think there will be significant change anyway

@Loubelle70 well i would class half the mothers in my street as scroungers! Kids by all different dads, never worked a day in their lives ( and never intend to either) sit on their fat backsides out the front of their houses drinking and smoking all day long while their feral children run wild! Kids are always filthy and eating sweets while their mothers complain how skint they are yet they always have cigarettes and cider!! There are whole families with generations of people like this that expect the rest of us to fund them!

Oh look the Daily Fail is here.

This.

I am old enough to remember Labour being in power twice. I had such high hopes for Blair, he was an excellent speaker and I believed every word he said. I learnt my lesson and have been disapointed ever since. I and all my family and politically savy friends will be voting for Reform. I cannot vote for any of those mainstream clowns.

therealcookiemonster · 23/05/2024 01:33

@noblegiraffe don't you think the people of Rwanda have suffered enough and now you want to inflict Jacob Rees mogg on them?

piscofrisco · 23/05/2024 05:59

Absolutely. But there are an awful lot of misguided (to put it politely ) people in this country that fall for their rhetoric, and will vote accordingly. Especially if the sun is shining and England do well in the football. Then 'Britain will be great again' and alot of people will conflate that with Tory success. Rishi has hedged his bets on those two things happening in the run up to the election-that's why he's gone early I think-and I've got a horrible feeling about it.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 23/05/2024 06:10

I don't think it will be the landslide people think, there are many voters like me who are currently 'homeless' no one has won my vote yet.

There is also a very silent majority like my parents who will never vote Labour.
