Is anyone managing to see it tonight? Aurorawatch has downgraded to yellow warning, but I don't know if there's a timelag - it was really high up to about 6pm

We’re in the Highlands and often see them but it’s nothing like the photos you take, I’ve never seen massive dancing lights with the naked eye, it’s more like subtle colours, like slight changes in cloud colours. Tomorrow is supposed to be great for seeing them.

WombatCowgirl · 11/05/2024 23:51

Green light in the north east- using Google pixel on night sight but still nothing like last night!

Following! I saw it last night, but really want people to see it who missed it.

I am wishing and hoping and praying for you all! 🙏

COME ON AURORA!!!

❤️ I saw it but not the intense part. This was what I saw last night, really want a better one but not hopeful

Nothing here in Northumberland yet. I’ve set my alarm though. I was gutted to miss it last night

RagzRebooted · 12/05/2024 00:04

Nothing in east Sussex, probably going home now as the activity seems to have died down and I don't think we'll get anything. Only came out again as DH missed it last night, the rest of us saw it then. More people at our spot tonight but many going now.

CarolineFields · 12/05/2024 00:05

the moon is very red here

catlady7 · 12/05/2024 00:06

Clouds have gone, still nothing tho

Beatrixslobber · 12/05/2024 00:07

No Aurora but plenty of dickheads here.

If it makes you feel any better or worse I went out
I saw absolutely nothing coloured only a very distinctive cloud formation
but my partner stood next to me could see vivid colors
and my Neighbours too 🤦‍♀️🤣
glad I haven't paid for a trip to Iceland to see them as clearly my eyes are crap at colours in the dark 🤷‍♀️
I did have a migraine tho so will give it all another go tonight if the cloud clears enough

To be honest, I have definitely seen more exciting/vivid green wavy lights when having a migraine than on this occasion...

toycat · 12/05/2024 00:13

South Manchester, so looking North in a park - too cloudy

SabreIsMyFave · 12/05/2024 00:15

I'm off to bed now. Not seeing anything here. (North Midlands.) It's clear here now, but nothing. No Aurora. I am so tired after staying up til 2am yesterday, and waking at 8.15am because of next door's lawnmower! 😬

Night all. Smile

Missed it last night and really hope it comes back tonight. I know it sounds corny to say seeing it is a bucket list thing but I'm undergoing cancer treatment at the moment so it would mean a lot

The chances of seeing it are higher tomorrow (Sunday night)

We’re at red at the moment but early yet. Drove to a high spot last night to get a good view but saw nothing and app downgraded to amber. Started to drive home then saw it - brilliant show and could see clearly without a lens. Got home and could see it from our garden! (North East Scotland)

Sods law always the way!

Roundandroundtheworld · 12/05/2024 01:36

Just wizzed out with doggie…anything for a lie in tomorrow/ today. Absolutely no colours in the sky. Kent/ Sussex border .

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 12/05/2024 01:40

Also calling it a night. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

millivani · 12/05/2024 02:06

Nothing doing in Cumbria...

TooManyNiblings · 12/05/2024 02:14

Nothing here in my bit of Dorset, feel bad for dragging DD (10) out of bed! But her uncle got fabulous photos yesterday and we wanted to try.

TakeMe2Insanity · 12/05/2024 02:17

Woke up with the baby and checked; nothing, the cloud seems heavier now than at 11.

YesItsMe44 · 12/05/2024 02:30

I live in Washington State and we went out around 10p. The darker and colder it got I could see colors coming through. But my daughter's iPhone caught the colors in full bloom. This picture was from out in the mountains away from city lights, but my sister lives in an urban neighborhood and was able to see them. It was worth staying up for. I may take my grandkids out to see them tonight. I grew up in Alaska and don't remember them being so colorful.

I was in Highland Perthshire and there was a very slight tinge in the sky, I drove from there to Central Scotland from about midnight till 2 and the sky was normal the whole way.

I was gutted to miss the lights on Friday.
