If you're so lazy and unengaged that you can't be arsed to check whether the OP of eg: a 200+ post thread in Relationships has added anything or updated their situation, why not just consider scrolling on by?

I think on the Android app you can't filter by OPs posts - that's definitely my experience. You can't quote posts either.

@Bramshott Thanks so much! I was about to ask for feedback if anyone else on the thread had the Android app so I could help @Snugglemonkey . If this is true, it kind of changes this entire thread. I mean, if EVERYONE who has the Android app can’t actually filter by OP posts, what are they supposed to do? I use the mobile website because I like it, but people should have the choice of the same functionality on their apps. Here, I can make all the OP posts green, it’s a breeze to scan a thread for them, but I don’t even have to because of the “see all” button. That’s awful about the Android app, and so ridiculous.

Have you never considered that if a thread is already hundreds of posts long and you just haven’t got the time to read all the replies because of your super busy schedule..maybe your point has already been made so you actually don’t need to go to the trouble of composing a reply? And that will save you loads and loads of time.

I know you are right OP, but there are some exceptional threads where you don’t need to read the entire thread or even all the OP posts to know what to say or how to vote; this thread is one of those exceptions.

@MNHQ Is there any plan to change the Android app in the future so that a user can just view OP’s posts? Seems like a huge oversight that we can do it in the iPhone app and the Android app users can’t. People have been talking about this on the Android app since 2022, when I looked back in history.

It's a thing now! I was listening to a podcast the other day about how fake news spreads and this woman's job was to sort of track it.

She said when people share news stories etc on Twitter or comment and like them, 80% of the time they haven't even clicked on the article. They've read the headline and thought they know everything they need to about it. Hence why really inflammatory headlines spread so fast. Basically people don't want to engage with something anymore - only voice their opinion or have their opinion validated.

There was an awful story in the daily mail the other day about a boy in the US abused and killed by his father. A very very cursory browse told me that mum had done everything in her power to keep the child away from dad but had ultimately been told that if she continued he would be awarded full custody. I'd say about 50% of the comments were people blaming the mum - asking where she was in the scenario, why didn't she protect him etc. it was literally explained in the first paragraph!

Although I don't actually read the full thread if it's long, I just read the op's posts before commenting.
