The past election/PM changes have been horrendous. The visceral disappointment was awful each time.

I can’t wait to actually celebrate this year. I know, I know, Labour are going to set fire to the economy and tax everyone £3mil each and it’ll cost you 4 trillion a month to send you kid to private school, and all women will perish immediately because only Tories know what a woman is Hmm

But finally! It’s been a long fucking time coming.

@Blossomtoes - I am not perpetuating. The rumour can be spun both ways. Poor Keir of course he is gender confused because he has to put his own child first. Some my have sympathy for that!

You absolutely are perpettuating - your posts on it are the definition of perpetuation.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/05/2024 12:21

Completely agree. Intend to stay up all night if necessary. Cant wait to see the disgraceful Rees-Mogg lose.

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 12:21

Who knows what will happen with Central London but if all the international rich are scared of being deemed resident in U.K. just by owning property and they implement the threat to claim inheritance tax for 10 years after residency ends, then of course they will all sell up. I guess it will be home grown dirty drug money buying it up. You know the 150 billion untaxed income that hmrc can never get their hands on because everyone is so scared of a cashless society with ID cards here.

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 12:22

Rees-Mogg won’t lose - he will have punted the other way to gain financially.

Sorry what? What?

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 12:28

You all were talking about the concept of voting and doing what is in the best interests of your own child and criticising posters who refuse to vote Labour because it will harm their own kids. Then there was a long discussion about Diane Abbott being a hypocrite. I then pointed out that at least Corbyn practises what he preaches. And I asked about Starmer and pointed out there were some malicious rumours. That’s it. Someone said MN deletes them all. So why did they not protect the royal family more?!

Oh look at you and your facts again @JessS1990

They are quite comedic aren't they.

DuncinToffee · 07/05/2024 12:30

I am sure the Royal Family will not need to worry about VAT on school fees

Neither do donkeys.
And that's a fact!

"He said that when Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis "was saying the exact same thing about kids and creepy stuff at Disney—that liberals now find intolerable at Nickelodeon—he was dismissed as a hick and a bigot..”

‘DeSantis wasn't wrong, but we're so tribal now the left will overlook child f*ing, if the guy from the wrong party calls it out," Maher said on his show.’

Hmm at this, adults can be complicit

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 12:38

Well there are donkeys but as this thread has show there are also MULES. Plenty of them, red ones - they are a special type of species though. Love a bit of red meat.

BIossomtoes · 07/05/2024 12:38

This thread’s taken a very odd turn in its death throes.

So has the Tory party.

DuncinToffee · 07/05/2024 12:44

Mules are very hardy animals and apparently less stubborn and more intelligent than donkeys

I don't think they come in red 🤔

Zonder · 07/05/2024 12:45

There's definitely some weird stuff being thrown about. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures for some people.

boys3 · 07/05/2024 12:49

Terribly dull but on topic I suppose.

Coverage. Which channel?

I’ve always watched it on the Beeb, although for no other reason than that is what I’ve always been used to. ITV, Channel 4, Sky worth a look? Or should I for that part of the election at least stick with a more conservative approach.

EasternStandard · 07/05/2024 12:51

It might be the safeguarding posts they were a bit…

I’m planning on alternating between BBC and Ch4.

Channel 4's line-up

Presented by Krishnan Guru-Murthy and The News Agents’ Emily Maitlis, this election special will steer viewers through what many are predicting to be a game-changing moment in British politics. They will be joined exclusively throughout the night by The Rest is Politics podcast hosts Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart who will bring their own inimitable analysis across the night, and some familiar faces from Gogglebox will also be part of the eclectic line-up.

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 12:08

Well they are chucking the non doms out so prime Central London property is about to take a nose dive so they need those pesky “ex privateers” to kick start the property market by moving into catchment! All anyone ever gives a sh… about in this country has always been the property prices.

They? you mean the Tories!

Whats the figures on Nom Dom's leaving? bear in mind, there is a 4 year transition period for new arrivals, reduced tax rates for others, quite a complicated structure & one of course they and posters on here, ridiculed until this years budget.

I've read about one billionaire who says he will go to Monaco or Switzerland & no one is being chucked out, they can pay the tax or leave?

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 13:11

But answer this one question- why is everyone who is a centrist liberal labelled a Tory now?! To what effect? Ok I admit I didn’t vote for Corbyn and voted LD because I just couldn’t stomach the car crash… but labelling all these people on here with kids in private schools Tories? I don’t have kids in private schools but they went to church schools and grammars so I sympathise.

Why does everyone now have to either have far left or far right views? If you just want bog standard middle. Who do you vote for? Where is the party for race horses into the future?

Araminta1003 · 07/05/2024 13:14

I think the non dom by the Tories is a double bluff. They have spooked the international rich so when the Labour Party come in they can’t implement more far left policies because it will spook foreign direct investment and the pound. Because the international community are already thinking how much worse will British politics become and if a right wing goverment does this what will the left do?
