Off the top of my head....

"This with bells on"

"This!!!!"

"First reply nailed it as usual"

"You are awesome / my hero op"

"Are you on glue?"

"Are you ok? 😬"

People using too many exclamation points!!!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/05/2024 10:25

No is a complete sentence.

It really isn't, though.

Nocturna · 03/05/2024 10:26

Everything is a red herring

SkaneTos · 03/05/2024 10:26

"He does more than his fair share."

Needmorelego · 03/05/2024 10:26

All the acronyms.
How hard is it to type "my child" rather than "DC"?

Greenqueen40 · 03/05/2024 10:26

'gentle hugs'
'hubs' & 'bubs'
My teeth are itching just writing them down!

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 03/05/2024 10:28

“death grip”

Tourmalines · 03/05/2024 10:30

No contact .

This is an odd one but it really annoys me when people say to an op "you dodged a bullet" usually after someone has been absolutely vile to the op, cheated on them/ used them/ then dumped them, they say "you dodged a bullet" well they didn't did they 🤔 The most recent one I saw was op had a baby with a man who then dumped her never met the child then was marrying someone else people saying "you dodged a bullet" hardly dodged 🫣

Not specific to MN, but one of my bugbears is "But you already know that". The true calling card of a wanker.

It is a Twitterism I think. It always makes me think of a male in his late twenties who carved out an undergraduate identity as the most insufferably smug person in every tutorial group of which he was a member, and then never experienced the personal growth necessary to get beyond that.

I find it confusing sometimes with posts that involve many people, where DS can be both a son or a sister, and a DP can be both a partner or a parent.

Revelatio · 03/05/2024 10:31

‘Comparison is the thief of joy’, like it’s some profound statement, and then they go on to compare the OP to someone worse off to make them feel better! So maybe it should be ‘comparison with someone worse off is the bringer of happiness’!

ExhaustedHousewife · 03/05/2024 10:32

Get your ducks in a row
Especially when the previous 20 posters have already said it.

Gettingbysomehow · 03/05/2024 10:33

Picky tea and my favourite "Grabby"

That one implies that if we want anything at all for ourselves we are asking too much because women don't deserve anything and should shut up. Shame really because it's women saying it.

Plate up is another one.

I didn't want to read and run.

stopringingme · 03/05/2024 10:37

Didn't want to read and run - pointless addition to your contribution, the OP would never know if you had read the thread or not.

longdistanceclaraclara · 03/05/2024 10:38

Can you take in some ironing.

Sugarcoatedalmonds · 03/05/2024 10:40

When someone addresses "reader" like, oh yes dear reader, I married him. I absolutely hate this.

Boils my piss
Unmumsnetty hugs
Ddog / Dfish / Dhamster. Danything.

ClipClopperDontStopper · 03/05/2024 10:43

'Wow. Just wow'

'I've found my people!'

fixingmylife · 03/05/2024 10:45

Give your head a wobble.

fancyfrogs · 03/05/2024 10:47

'Put your big girl pants on'

ukku · 03/05/2024 10:49

"recommend me" So utterly wrong grammatically yet so many people use it.

"draw" instead of drawer. I mean...really.

I "text" him.....aaargh.

ukku · 03/05/2024 10:50

"pop of colour"

and "unmumsnetty hugs". I mean...what does that even mean.

Motnight · 03/05/2024 10:51

"he's a great dad" Either followed or proceeded by information which shows very closely that he isn't
