Someone will have literally lost a baby or a close loved one and someone will say ‘unmumsnetty hugs’

like it’s important to note this is not cool but I’m doing it anyway.

ok??? Weird to let people know that.

earther · 03/05/2024 13:01

Ive had to learn morse code to read half the threads.
DM/DML/DB/DS/DSs/DD/DSd/DBIL/STBXH/DXH/DGP/ and so on.
And everyone as a child with SEN or is on the spectrum that is the excuse for there out burst.
And having babies when you are almost 50 sorry but yes its to old to be starting again.
Mental load.
My husband as woken up and breathing again ruined my day.
Is this abuse.
I dont want him in my life but i will chase him for money.
I cheated Dont tell him he cheated LEAVE him hes scum.
Having kids is so hard i want me time well you gave that up when you had kids.
I cant clean my home because i have a baby.
Pitchers of baby shit and other peoples shit i mean go to the doctor.
They was one and she was showing her fanny off because of a spot honestly stupid.
I have many more.

Didn't want to read and run - pointless addition to your contribution, the OP would never know if you had read the thread or not.

I started a thread saying just that.
Still in recovery!

MrsGusset · 03/05/2024 13:01

“Let's call him/her”:-

As in posts that begin “I've got a friend, let's call her A, whose partner, lets's call him B, has just run off with another woman, let's call her C.......

marshmallowfinder · 03/05/2024 13:03

The proof is in the pudding.
Ffs, no, it bloody well isn't.

PriscillaPresssley · 03/05/2024 13:03

Puzzledandpissedoff · 03/05/2024 12:58

Sounds like ADHD / ASD / ODD / insert other alphabet soup of choice - it's getting to the point where having a self diagnosed "label" is almost obligatory on here

Yes, no matter the issue the problem must have a diagnosis or label, the person posted about can't just be a regular horrible person, they are peri, menopausal, have PMT or perhaps dementia.

And I find the term 'elderly' at times posted relating to anyone over 55 a little ridiculous

Bewareofthisonetoo · 03/05/2024 13:13

‘family’ eg ‘staying with family’ rather than ‘my family’
’a family member’ why not say which one?
DDog/Dcat

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 03/05/2024 13:21

I'm off to bed/work, will write more later (I'm on the edge of my seat)
Listen my lovely...bleurgh
Oh sweetheart...barf
Myself and my partner
Myself and my husband
Myself and my boyfriend was...

PriscillaPresssley · 03/05/2024 13:27

"What age is she OP?"

When OP has in her first post stated that she's having issues with her 12 year old daughter

Americano75 · 03/05/2024 13:33

Get a grip.

Use your words.

Predictablenamechange1 · 03/05/2024 13:36

I just spat my tea all over the computer [usually at some tedious in joke]

Well I just asked DH and HE said...[insert random man's irrelevant opinion]

Also 'speaking as a man/man here' etc. Who cares?

Oh, there are so many!

Predictablenamechange1 · 03/05/2024 13:39

FluentinSimlish · 03/05/2024 12:56

‘Think’. For example, “my teenager (think university age) has just devoured an entire chicken when it was intended to be used in a massive salad.”

Oh this one too! So annoying. 'I'm a professional (think accountant) and earn well (think six figures)'.

Just say you're a lawyer or whatever and how much you earn if it's relevant, it's hardly going to be outing!

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 03/05/2024 13:43

@Hélène79 did she wet herself?

Emdubz70 · 03/05/2024 13:45

“Use your words”

”Get your ducks in a row “

And statements with a ‘no’ on the end. I don’t see/hear this anywhere but on Mumsnet. Surely that’s obvious. No?

WimbyAce · 03/05/2024 13:47

Handhold.
Gentle anything.
The duck analogy (walks like a duck etc)

wibblywobblywoo · 03/05/2024 13:49

eddiemairswife · 03/05/2024 10:37

I didn't want to read and run.

😆😂😂😂 Brilliant!

OneForTheRoadThen · 03/05/2024 13:50

Vanishingly small. I've never heard anyone in real life say this.

HTH. It always reminds me of a small child saying 'so there'.

SpeculatingRooks · 03/05/2024 13:52

"Reaching for" on the style and beauty threads as in "I don't find myself reaching for it/them.."
Just say I never wear it/them ffs

HeadWobbler · 03/05/2024 13:52

fixingmylife · 03/05/2024 10:45

Give your head a wobble.

Nothing wrong with saying that.

Toottooot · 03/05/2024 13:54

Just OP makes me cringe - have visions of someone screeching OP OP at the top of their lungs.
Anything NOW - police NOW, etc.
Anything in 3’s - REPORT REPORT REPORT.

ginasevern · 03/05/2024 13:54

Mostly on the Feminism board but the repeated mantra of "my hill to die on", said by Tory apologists.

Aslo agree with another poster. Nobody is allowed to be fucking pissed off because their partner wrecked the car or a teenager slamming doors and giving their parents back chat. They've all got to be controlling, abusive or SEN, ASD or ADHD.

FatArse123 · 03/05/2024 13:54

Another vote for "give your head a wobble".

blacksax · 03/05/2024 13:55

A non-comprehending pp has asked an irate poster to explain why they are so angry and offended by something.

Instead of politely explaining the issue, the poster gets even more enraged, insists that it isn't their job to explain why, and just says "Go educate yourself".

NewStartNowish · 03/05/2024 13:55

I agree with all of these.

I also dislike ‘are you ok?’ It is used passive aggressively and rarely out of concern. I don’t like the hint that someone might be mentally struggling and it then being used against them.

NewStartNowish · 03/05/2024 13:55

I also dislike the ‘oh it’s half-term’ comments when people don’t like the thread and are implying it’s been posted by a bored young person.
