Yes always the ducks in a row!

Could be doing something else with their time but excels at procrastination.

😂Guilty as charged!

DeadbeatYoda · 02/05/2024 21:34

Christ, what a horrible, catty thread.

Abracadabra12345 · 02/05/2024 21:34

Are usually large of nork

I agree about the mopping of floors and are horrified that anyone may enter with outdoor shoes on, since of course said interloper would have trudged through a muddy, faeces-filled track

Although - lots seem to live very rurally.....

ASighMadeOfStone · 02/05/2024 21:06

Either indulges in competitive hygiene, mopping all floors twice a day and thrice at the weekend, or competitive minging only changing the sheets once a month and the towels when there's actual visible shit on them?

In a nutshell Grin

This has nailed
it for me ….
thank you…
it seems to be the polar opposites that I am noting … but almost like there are two clear ‘
camps’

Yes I think there are polar opposites.

What they have in common is a loathing of “middle class-ness” : one group because they aspire to be above and beyond it, and the others because they think it is pompous but enviably free from all concerns.

KeyboardWhinger · 02/05/2024 21:50

I am surprised by how many posters aren’t parents.

ZippyZappyZoo · 02/05/2024 21:50

Hmmm. I dunno. I do have a fairly expensive house, it’s true. I do not work part time. I am not burnt out. I am not pondering my marriage.

CulturalNomad · 02/05/2024 21:51

They're married to the 0.001% of the male population who doesn't ever watch porn, has never even seen porn and gave up masturbation the day they laid eyes on their partner

And their husbands keep their phones locked and carry their laptops with them from room to room....😂

All human life is on Mumsnet. That’s the beauty of it (much as it winds me up at times).

The “typical” Mumsnet mum doesn’t exist, despite the attempt to push various stereotypes.

How do we know the nork bit?!

ZenNudist · 02/05/2024 21:55

There's probably certain demographics on here but a fair mix from mums and dad's to those who are child free and all manner of lifestyles and circumstances

Helplessandheartbroke · 02/05/2024 22:00

No need for the comments on sen children that's below the belt.

I agree

ichundich · 02/05/2024 22:01

Perimenopausal, mum of a ND kid, into wide-leg jeans and trainers, Taylor Swift fan, anti-private school (but worships the 'true upper class' and'old money'), anti-Brexit, hates the words 'moist' and 'picky tea'.

I actually think quite a lot of the regulars are in their 60’s.

And some of us have kids still in school 🤣 and are over 60

I don’t think it’s meant derogatory . I think it’s capturing the ‘ easy life ‘ v ‘ the struggle’

All husbands wear lycra and block country lanes on weekends but this is a Secret Hobby they will not divulge because it is too outing
All kids have regular visits to NT houses and museums on weekends
Mum's out in all weather cheering on kids who are county team players/riders and love dryrobes
There has been an issue with inheritance at some point

bradpittsbathwater · 02/05/2024 22:10

Has a £1m pension pot by 45.

Librarybooker · 02/05/2024 22:10

Now here’s one :

A surprising number of women who are not Mums and don’t plan to be

I’ve no problem with this and commend them for going on a forum with ‘mum’ in the title

Apologies if I took it the wrong way I just don't think mentioning disabled children is right on a thread that's laughing at people.

This made me giggle 😂
