OP posts:

Don't use shower gel on their fannies and bums, only water.

earther · 03/05/2024 09:29

I dont believe half of the threads on MN.

KeepSmiling89 · 03/05/2024 09:32

The 'average' mum on Mumsnet is someone who can't possibly divulge any information about what she does or what her or her hubby's/partner's hobbies are because it would be too 'outing'

CookStrait · 03/05/2024 09:32

Day dreamers or should that be compulsive liars 🤔

DaffodilFarm · 03/05/2024 09:52

Like pirañas going crazy in the water at the sight of a vulnerable poster - quite shocking.

AIBA, at times resembles a Roman colosseum of old, filled with lions waiting for the next poor peasant to be thrown in, with a loud cheering crowd enjoying the spectacle.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/05/2024 10:02

The average MN user doesn't think they're average, and doesn't fit the various stereotypes suggested.

(Except procrastination, obv)

I am sat... Oh please, no. I am sitting...

I had a poster say this to me a few days ago because i said i liked the rain
Oh please go away and read the news what the weather is doing to farmers i replied with i have read the news nothing i can do about it but the rain is my fav weather just like winter.

earther · 03/05/2024 10:29

Having a baby under 35 is a no no having a baby in your 20s you missed all your youth apparently.
Having a baby at 45-50 some sound like its the coming of christ burned out cant cope husbands a sod want a divorce hes not doing enough ex husband not paying enough.

Oh and the molly cuddling and two faceness on MN sometimes is unreal.

TeenDivided · 03/05/2024 10:30

I think the average mum on MN depends on which board you read most.

On the SN boards the average mum has one child or more with SN, will be busy fighting for the help their child needs, possibly also trying to hold down a job but finding it hard due to needs of child.

On the education boards there is a clear skew towards mums of highly able kids who are highly invested in their children's education.

etc.

I do t think there is an average mumsnetter. I see people from all walks of life on here. I think in general because it’s anonymous most people are a lot more honest and the judgements they keep well hidden in real life comes out in full force on mumsnet.

hotpotlover · 03/05/2024 10:52

I don't think there is an average mumsnetter.

You get a lot of nasty replies on threads, but I find mumsnet quite fascinating and useful.

It doesn't matter how niche and specific your question is, very soon someone who works in that particular area or has knowledge will be along to give you free, in-depth online advice 😊

OneWorldly4 · 03/05/2024 11:07

Taking 5 years to finish putting sequins on a jacket for the era's tour 😜

TBH i do actually like that thread

Oh gosh!! Yes this I didn’t think of !

(D) Many are incapable of putting their knockers on without asking for advice on MN!
(E) Lots read the Daily Mail avidly, as they always seem to know what's in it.

Knickers, not knockers !

wavingfuriously · 03/05/2024 12:44

Yes!

Still haven’t heard how we know mners all have big knockers.

ByUmberViewer · 03/05/2024 12:47

Isn't big knockers just code for fat?

Yes someone said big norks earlier. Very random 😂
Tits could be smaller and I do like a massive salad.

I’m not sure it is really. I know quite a few chubbier ladies with rather small scone-like boobs.

This whole thread is derogatory.

Loves the feign offence at the slightest thing, looks for all the negatives in life, must be miserable to live with.

bradpittsbathwater · 03/05/2024 13:02

All look 10-15 years younger than they are.

What's that got to do with appalling grammar? 😄

I know my grammar is off you're not the first to quote me on it.

Moreorlessmentallystable · 03/05/2024 14:34

Has a strained relationship with MIL but still uses her for childcare.
Has a useless DH but would comment LTB every time an OP moans about their DH.
Eats a big salad for lunch every day and doesn't eat dinner as she's too full from said salad.
Hates the patriarchy but married a well to do guy who is willing to work full time so she can do part time.

BugBugTheTornado · 03/05/2024 14:45

Pairs a statement shoe, with a wide leg trouser and a bright lip.

Never shoes, trousers or lips, plural.
