So much negativity and sadness, so AIBU to try for a thread of small (or large) joyful things?

I’ll start: the dawn chorus is beautiful today and I have decided to adopt it as my welcome to Wednesday from the world.

It's my second wedding anniversary today and we've just arrived in Dublin (we're from Manchester). Looking forward to a couple of days of exploring with my favourite person 🙂

I had the grass cut this morning, and the beautiful scent of cut grass is wafting into the house. And a watery sun has appeared!

I used to live in France and on 1st May it's traditional to give a bunch of Lily of the Valley (Porte Bonheur) as a gesture of friendship and love. I've some in my garden and have just taken a bunch to a few neighbours. Shame it never lasts long once cut.

A woodpecker visited my garden yesterday, the first time we've seen one. They are still rare in my part of Ireland. DS managed to grab a photo.

15 years ago my beloved childhood pony passed away at the age of 32. DD was a baby at the time. I promised myself that when the time was right I would find another horse to love. Yesterday I put down a deposit on a beautiful bay boy who DD and I will share. I'm so excited!🥰

My cat. He is my world and I don't care if that sounds odd. He gives me a reason to get up each day.

I’ve just had a little wander round the garden in spring like weather , I love seeing everything springing to life and hearing the birds sing. And there are lambs in the fields opposite. Weather in Scotland ain’t all bad you know

It’s a beautiful sunny Beltane, and I’m working from home in the garden. The birdsong is lovely and my two kittens are running around the garden. Think I might have another frothy coffee… 😁

Im happy today because I walked briskly for over 30 mins up through the woods and back again. My thighs are aching so it must have been good for them 😃 Oh and it’s my 26th wedding anniversary x

Had to submit a claim to the sheriff court to recover costs for an issue that's been dragging on since last year. The company finally offered to settle, and the money went into the bank this morning, yay. So glad to be able to draw a line under it at last.

I went for a run with 3 wonderful friends and had coffee after, perfect start to a day!

I found my glasses undamaged this morning. They fell out of a coat pocket yesterday. £600 saved!

We're hoping for a nice celebratory weekend so today is a crossing fingers day.

DH has a job interview tomorrow for something he really wants, which would be more money for us and better job satisfaction for him.

I've had results from my last two uni assignments this week and I'm looking like I'm on course for a good pass, one assignment to go (due towards the end of the month) and my degree will be finished.

And it's our 6th anniversary on Sunday.

It's not raining AND the sun is shining AND it's warm!

My huffy terrier has decided to forgive me although I'm not all sure what my offence was.

The suns out, the washing is blowing on the line, the floors are drying and I'm having a cup of tea and about to watch the last Beyond Paradise of the series

My 2 little boys when dropped home from school yesterday charged through the house barely acknowledging me because they wanted to go and play on the swing in the garden. I didn’t mind or anything just cracked on making supper. After a few minutes they came back in and said, ‘sorry mummy for not saying hello properly, we were just excited to play outside. We love you.’ Then they each gave me a kiss and cuddle and skipped back out to play.

Feels like i’m doing something right!

It's my birthday today 🥰

Family of foxes with 3 fox cubs in my back garden. I know some people think they're a pest but they're so fascinating to watch and the cubs are gaining strength/learning so much/playing every day.
