To be annoyed delivery guy peed in my garden!

Just seen a delivery guy peeing in my front garden (caught on ring doorbell) wasn't even my delivery and he was delivering food 🤢 clearly sees the doorbell but doesn't care! Someone said well there is a lack of toilets but surely that's not an excuse?!

This is an age old myth, usually about truck drivers. No adult man can fit his penis into the top of a bottle, I remember a drunk ex and his mate trying when we were young and stuck on the motorway in a van.

I always assumed it was parents letting their kids wee in bottles when caught short.

Edited

Hahaha no, but the diameter of their pee hold is smaller than the diameter of the bottle!

Winningatpatriachychicken · 30/04/2024 12:33

If they are lucky they have a tescos or Macdonalds etc on route. But employers don't factor in time to use them.,

Most people have no idea. Did you ever see the film 'sorry we missed you'.

Where and when was he supposed to pee?

Seriously?? You'd be OK with someone shitting in your front garden? Get a grip! Of course you wouldn't 🙄
All those people with IBS around the world just can't help themselves and go around shitting in people's gardens, do they??? Of course not! They manage their condition and act appropriately (I.e. finding a toilet).

Edited

I think if you had IBS that being a delivery driver orobably isn’t the ideal job.

Ultimately it’s the fault of the employers not the drivers if they don’t get proper breaks. But that doesn’t mean innocent people should have their property treated as a public facility.

MissMillyFluff · 30/04/2024 12:41

No but he'll have held his nob without washing his hands afterwards, then he'll be holding someone else's food in the next delivery 😨

Food delivery people all look as if they need a good wash. Those plastic thermal bags they carry food in are rank.

JoniBlue · 01/05/2024 20:56

They pop into coffee shops, mcdonalds ect.

stayathomer · 01/05/2024 20:56

I was going to be one of the annoying where's he meant to go people but in all fairness, we've all held it in until we got to a service station of shopping centre, why can't men do the same?!

Sometimesright · 01/05/2024 21:02

Why couldn’t he ask the place he delivered to if he could use their loo? I’d be annoyed and why her garden she didn’t order the food after all 😜

Daisybuttercup12345 · 01/05/2024 21:04

Winningatpatriachychicken · 30/04/2024 12:32

Honestly I wouldn't care. Poor guy was probably bursting. And his employers won't have factored loo breaks into his targets. And he probably makes minimum wage.

Urine won't damage your lawn, don't make someone's life harder but reporting them, it won't make your life any better

This.

It’s grass cutting season/ litter picking by the side of the dual carriageway. I work for the LA honestly they find hundreds of pee bottles. People are gross 🤢

If you’d read the thread, many suggestions have been made from peeing in a bottle or specially designed travel urinal in his own vehicle, finding a piece of land that isn’t someone’s private garden, or simply using the loo whilst he waits for his collection to be ready at McDonald’s or wherever he’s picking up from.

Why do we have such ridiculously low standards for men? You would never find a female delivery driver having a piss in someone’s garden, why is it excused when it’s a male?

It's like the people you see weeing next to the motorway. I always take a photo and report to the police as they could really just hold it in until the services instead.

I remember being stuck in traffic on the M5 and seeing a woman crouching between the front and back door with her head protruding above and a puddle forming around her. Grim. 🤢 She didn't look happy at my partner taking her photo (I was driving) but maybe it'll make her think next time.

What a horrible, prurient post. You sound obsessed. Maybe the women you describe had broken down and had had a long wait before being rescued. Having to take a desperation wee on the hard shoulder is totally different from weeing in someone's garden. No one's going to walk through it and the next shower will wash it away. Let's hope you never have a urinary infection or develop a sensitive bladder or break down in a place where you can't have a discreet wee.

Devondumplin20 · 01/05/2024 21:18

It will do the garden good😂whilst not pleasant I would give the benefit of the doubt. Needs must and maybe he has a medical issue - prostate or something. Unless it’s a habit give the poor guy a break.

Ido not have very low standards for men- employers do.

Low standards for employees, I think you mean - women are treated the same, but don’t drop their knickers in the garden of someone’s house. I wonder how they manage to hold it, but a man can’t?

What’s stopping the man from getting back into his vehicle and using a bottle or specially designed travel urinal?

fungipie · 01/05/2024 21:24

We regularly have the same delivery driver- from Eastern Europe. We have told him if he ever needs it, he can use out loo. And if he needs a drink or cup of coffee- he is welcome. He told us no-one has ever said this to him. He is very friendly now, well even more than before.

I’m one of the 8% who voted YABU. Only because I don’t see why it’s a big deal. The soil will deal with the piss.

Well I’m currently dealing with a prolapse. Twenty minutes from the house last week and I suddenly realised I was going to have to get home quick . Mortified something might drop out on the way back. Not sure what I would have done if I didn’t make it.

MsLuxLisbon · 01/05/2024 21:28

VolvoFan · 01/05/2024 18:17

Nope, I didn't say that at all. What you've done, though, is infer and put words in my mouth. I wouldn't be okay with it. Delivery driving is a highly stressful job, especially in a just-in-time economy that we now have, with allotted delivery times, which don't allow overheads for problems with the delivery, ie someone isn't home and they can't leave the parcel anywhere.

A customer complains, the driver is told off, morale slips, eventually they quit and the company has to hire someone to replace them. Delivery drivers are penalised if they're late. Some of them have been sacked for taking the works van home to have some lunch when their house has been on a route they had that day. Delivery driving used to be fun and worthwhile. Not anymore.

I suspect once OP has lodged the complaint, he'll be let go. Oh well.

Oh well indeed. There's a bit of a difference between going home for lunch and exposing yourself and using someone's garden as a latrine. FFS

You take photos of people having a wee? You report that to the police? Do you think their time might be put better use by dealing with serious crimes?

whynotwhatknot · 01/05/2024 21:47

op said he could have use mcdonals up the road-lets not make out he was miles outof nowhere

DownWithThisKindOfThing · 01/05/2024 22:34

My late 70s dad has had cancer which has left him with bladder issues and urgency and has never felt the need to piss in public. Neither did I during 2 pregnancies. Whilst I accept people can be caught short that doesn’t equate so it being acceptable for them to piss in a random garden

PlipPlopChoo · 01/05/2024 22:39

Why on earth would she invite in a delivery driver for a delivery that wasn't hers and she knew nothing about until he was mid pee

It was a hypothetical question ffs.

Well, one factor is that the vast majority of delivery drivers are male, so that's why it's mainly men that are caught short.

Also, if you've been in the situation yourself, now imagine you were spending 50-60 hours a week driving around and how much more often you'd find yourself on that situation.
