All those saying this is never going to happen and just glibly mock someone for watching Sky news obviously don't live in areas of West Yorkshire or Birmingham or London where who areas of the education system and community have already been completely separated. Whole areas of Berlin are already separated from traditional Christian German culture, if you are actually interested in the facts and not just making fun of someone. If you think Islamic cultural norms align with western values, particularly around women, you are wrong. The OP might have been a bit over the top with the words, but just dismissing them with sneary remarks about the news source is pathetic.
But of course middle class families can call out these views because they don't live in these disconnected areas or educate their children in the schools and keep saying their progressive Liberal views, whilst moving to nice areas with traditional schooling and western values. At least it makes them feel good about themselves.

You need to put this in a wider context though, Muslims in Germany suffer a lot of racism.

The world in general - including the rise of the far right in Europe, which fuels this racism - is worrying.

The thinking behind this protest is part of a general breakdown of the post war world, it’s less worrying than many other aspects.

other things are also worrying. Yes, I (obviously) agree.

That doesn’t have an impact on the validity of the issues I mentioned in my original comment.

AdamRyan · 29/04/2024 08:44

1000 people at a protest in Germany, and one of them had a sign. It was an anti-Israel demonstration, so not sure why you think this means they are trying to bring a caliphate to Germany.

YABVVU. I suggest you go and talk to some real life Muslims rather than posting on the Internet. There is a lot of misinformation on this thread.

I would never have dreamed I would hear myself say this, 10 years ago it would have been unthinkable for me but: it's getting to the stage where I wouldn't be too upset if the right came into power in our western nations.

Go and read some early 20th century history and give your head a wobble

ClareBlue · 29/04/2024 08:50

Worked in Dewsbury in public services, been schooled in Bradford have you @AdamRyan
I have. Close family lived in Berlin for years.
Seen issues with the education system in Birmingham. Seem English as a foreign language in areas of London schools and communities, etc etc.
What is rubbish about it from your experiences, @AdamRyan

People who say it wouldn’t happen only have to look to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria. Look at what life was like there in 1960s etc and you’ll realise if we don’t fight against it it can happen

It's too late, it's going to happen here.

Why do you think there is a massive increase in pushing transgender.

A population of weak and feminised men will not be able to stand up and fight.

Fox News🙄

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/04/28/protesters-call-for-islamic-state-in-germany/

For all you being disparaging about Fox news, the telegraph have also reported on it as well as many other media outlets.

The Telegraph, Express, Daily Mail and GB news are basically now the UK version of fox and just share stories round each other. Anything from them needs an automatic Google to see if 1) any other outlets are reporting it and 2) what they are saying

Primroseoil · 29/04/2024 08:56

grinandslothit · 29/04/2024 06:11

Why would you believe anything coming from Fox News?

Do a Google search it's all over the International media, all the German sites have good coverage of it.

Interesting that all the posters mocking the OP for using Fox News, as a source.

Not discrediting this has actually happened. You’re not interested that there are people calling for a caliphate but it does interest you someone uses Fox News?

Also, it’s using the words ‘solution’ on the march in Germany, we all know what that is alluding to. I can see from the posters on here already, that that wouldn’t bother them much either.

This whole, YABU to be scared is the same gaslighting nonsense that’s used to silence women and children.

So yes, OP. YANBU if you are scared

I agree. That story is being reported on various German news channels, but sure, let’s all just focus on the fact that OP quoted Fox News 🙄

Where do you live that you are surrounded by men that don’t (unfortunately) fight anymore?

It’s sensationalist rubbish. What has happened to The Telegraph when it peddles this stuff, despite being the Torygraph, in the past it did used to offer some investigative journalism!

it’s worse than the Daily Fail

Perzival · 29/04/2024 09:04

I don't want any extremism stance to get traction in the UK. I do believe that multiculturalism doesn't work- I don't believe I'm racist to say that, I just don't think the vast differences in beliefs can be overcome. Just visit Oldham, Rochdale, Bradford etc.

It's a shame, in a perfect world it would and we'd all love in peace and respect each other but the reality is that this doesn't happen.

Primroseoil · 29/04/2024 09:04

blimeyslimey · 29/04/2024 07:38

I’m interested in all the people accusing Fox News of being biased whilst simultaneously refusing to recognize their own bias.

in the 70s/ 80s animal rights campaigning was more of a Thing. Most campaigners were peaceful but a few were extremists who engaged in direct action of various sorts. Now animal rights was a small movement, so a small percentage of a small movement is not such a big issue. Especially as, as far as I am aware, they never killed anyone.

There are an awful lot of Muslims. They are a huge population. So even a ‘small minority’ of Muslims being extremists is a lot of people. And they are very extreme. Much more so than the 1970s/80s animal rights people.

it is worrying. If you have a large population that produces a minority who kill people, that wants to impose its woman disadvantaging laws on its population living in the West, , that wants to impose its blasphemy ideals on everyone on pain of death. That is a problem.

Are posters here aware that a teacher is still in hiding in the UK ( which means he has lost all his friendship groups and community and home and career, everything, it’s deeply traumatic) who has had his life utterly destroyed, because he gave a school sanctioned lesson on free speech using what happened with the Charlie Hebdo murders as an excuse?

Did posters here hear the Anti Social episode on radio 4 based on the boys who took a Koran into school and dropped it on the floor, and the young autistic boy who did this has received death threats and was utterly incapacitated and suicidal with terror and his mum was filmed crying and begging with apology at the mosque in the Muslim community, like she was at some Sharia court, in a desperate bid to save her son? And the ‘respectable’ Muslim representative on AntiSocial talked of how dear and venerated the Koran was to Muslims and how terrible it was for it to touch the floor. But when asked about the death threats to the teenage child ( who remember was in an extreme and terrified state of mental distress) laughed and said. ‘Oh boys will be boys, that’s just what boys are like’.
Let that sink in.

There is a problem. We should uphold values of tolerance in all communities. We should uphold our rule of law in all communities. We should not let fear or being called names, mean we are to scared to stand up to one group of people over another.

The posters here pretending there is not an issue, sneering at Fox News, are of the same mentality as those who, when whistle blowers were trying to get police and social services to take action to protect the teenage girls being raped and sexually tortured by men from predominantly Muslim communities in Rotherham ( and many other places, and it’s still going on), turned their faces away and doubtless sneered, ‘ did you read that in the Daily Mail?, because they were more concerned with not being seen as racist, in their own eyes and others, than they were about safeguarding children from sexual abuse

It’s not anti-racist to refuse to see a concern in front of you. It’s a failing, not a principle.

Edited

Thanks for the excellent reply. It is a worry, I saw videos of the march in Hanbury & it appeared to be all young men, no women. Is that because the women don't agree or want a caliphate or they were not allowed protest?

This whole forum is an echo chamber of The Guardian,BBC,CNN,MSNBC. Step outside of these accepted parameters and you're bullied and ridiculed. No one is allowed a different opinion or a discussion that differs from the status quo. There's a whole lot of useful idiots on here.

Because Fox News is ‘ridiculous’. Thats why it’s ridiculed.
