Coming on here and advocating for laws on blasphemy and decency won’t help your cause.

As I said we are all not the same.

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 29/04/2024 19:36

C'mon, what's the wurst that could happen?

@ShamimaTH - could you clarify what you mean by Western women not respecting their husbands, please?
What legislation would you like on blasphemy and decency?.

I agree 100% you're not all the same.

So why does criticism of those people calling for a caliphate offend you if you're not calling for one? You're not the topic of the criticism.

According to some on here, this too is the fault of Muslims Hmm

which comments point to that? Are you referring to people like me saying that when Fox publishes this stuff the right wing benefit?

Because it is used as a way to target us. Recently a friend of mine was minding her own business, leaving work. She wears a hijab. A man spat at her. She turned, shocked and he said ‘You scared me’. A lot of people do think that all Muslims are the same and are terrorists. It’s become acceptable.

I hope you are either a troll or joking or alone in this belief ( on MN at least).

The mark of a secular country is that it allows blasphemy. I will not be forced to respect religion, or respect my husband, or respect anything in fact.

I don't believe most Muslims share your ideas anyway.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 29/04/2024 19:45

What’s actually happening in Germany right now is a bunch of far-right conspiracy nutters are in court because they tried to overthrow the government.

No, the poster who said the Muslim protests lead to far righters gaining power.

The U.K. isn’t a Muslim country though

That’s very sad and I’m sad your friend went through that. I have some very good friends who are muslim and they also just want peace. Sadly i have similar experiences, my friend who is also gay and a muslim has faced horrific abuse from some other members of the muslim community. Sadly we have non-tolerant people through society regardless of their religion. Why people cannot live in peace is beyond me

I am sure they do. This isnt a Muslim country. Please feel free to insult my religion as much as you want and I shall insult yours. As it should be.

1000 people at a protest in Germany, and one of them had a sign. It was an anti-Israel demonstration, so not sure why you think this means they are trying to bring a caliphate to Germany.

YABVVU. I suggest you go and talk to some real life Muslims rather than posting on the Internet. There is a lot of misinformation on this thread.

Absolutely this

Primroseoil · 29/04/2024 10:45

But the reality is British & western birth rates are rapidly declining whereas Muslim birth rates are not declining... Will things be the same in 30 or 50 years time for our children & grandchildren? It is valid question!

I feel the same

It will be islamisation by stealth

Also Christians are often treated badly in Islamic countries

That women in Pakistan who was a Christian for instance

Runnerinthenight · 29/04/2024 19:52

If you spent your life being "petrified" over every threatening world event, it would be a miserable existence.

It’s still a minority and we don’t actually want the same laws as a Muslim country.

I’d say advancing is the opposite direction anyway, acceptance of liberal laws and democracy

Chocchip09 · 29/04/2024 19:54

Lyla82 · 29/04/2024 07:08

YANBU to be worried. Islamic extremism is a huge threat to the whole world and people seem to be turning a blind eye just to make themselves seem accepting/virtue signalling.
The anti-Israel rhetoric is simply an excuse for the hate to start showing. But these extremists hate anyone who doesn't align with their way of life, so Jews are just their first target, but everyone else will follow.
It is terrifying. Don't let anyone gaslight you.

Excuse me? You’ve conveniently left out important context which would explain why people are so angry with Isreal. The ‘hate’ you talk about is not against the entire Jewish population across the world, but is fight against Zionism, a nationalist regime which has killed thousands of innocent civilians in Palestine. The vast majority of Muslims are normal, peaceful people. A small percentage are radicalised and 99% of Muslims would not accept them as part of their religion.

Laws should be there to protect everyone. The UK is proud to have freedom for everyone.

christianity is by far the biggest religion in the UK (65%) then atheism (25%). There is approx 6.7% Muslims in the UK.

Yes, I was talking about UK Muslims.

The only way this country can advance is by not allowing religion to enter public discourse by the back door. Be it evangelical Christianity from the Bible Belt, or Islamists or right wing Hinduism.

Teddleshon · 29/04/2024 19:57

@ShamimaTH why do you want to live in a western democracy if this is really your view?

Your idea of society “advancing” is not aligned with the views of the majority of British citizens, whatever their religious and ethnic background.
