No you aren't being unreasonable in the slightest.

Moralcompass1 · 29/04/2024 19:17

This was more concerning (salafists carrying out sharia patrols) as it did happen: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WuppertalSharia_Police_incident

YANBU, but look for other news sources to see how credible this was and the response.

So many people burying their heads in the sand, OP has a valid point.

So because you don't believe it that means it isn't true ?

Fox News tells lies, and if it's not 100% a lie, then it's twisted and over distorted to fit their narrative.

I am sorry to read that. I don’t mean to say that no one else is persecuted. Just highlighting that spreading fear of Islam when tens of thousands of Muslims (women, children (babies) and men) have been killed shows complete lack of any compassion in the part of the posters on here spreading fear and hatred. It implies their deaths are ok. As a Muslim I felt hurt and disappointed yet again that my religion was being used again to dehumanise us.

Apologies I didn’t think I had quoted correctly. I don’t believe any dehumanisation is happening. Much good is done by religious groups. But equally no individual or group should be exempt from questioning nor criticism.

Shja · 29/04/2024 19:06

If you want to spread hate of a particular group, have the courage to accept criticism, and not be picky on petty things on a new poster. Would be nice if you could have been more compassionate. No compassion for Muslims right, acceptable in this climate right?

Interesting choice of thread for a new poster

Please do explain what respecting your husband means and give us some examples.

What decency and blasphemy laws would you like to see?

Laws on blasphemy for whom? I don’t believe in blasphemy and I will remain free to criticise any religion as I live in a country where that is allowed. Decency is subjective and I will not tolerate having someone else’s religious beliefs imposed on me. Thanks but no thanks.

Any phobia is disgusting including homophobia and Christianophobia.

islam is the fastest growing religion due to the birth rate.

I notice in your next post you request laws to support the Muslim community for example around decency. Do you mean going back on all the work done on women’s rights? I also note you say women are taught to respect their husband.

where do I fit in your plans as a gay Christian woman.

Criticism is fine if it’s based on facts not fear mongering and hatred.

A few thousand idiots turned up to that specific rally, at that specific date and time.

A few thousand idiots can radicalise a few thousand more, who can kill a few thousand more.

Absolutely there can be organisations that promote violence and radicalise people. What they cannot do is bring in Sharia law by themselves. Only 6% of the population of Germany are muslim, of which I’m betting that a reasonable chunk actually don’t really want Caliphate either.

It’s not one size fits all when it comes to Muslims. We are not all the same. A lot of us believe, any and all oppression no matter who does it is wrong. Live and let live. Fairness and justice for all.

Desecratedcoconut · 29/04/2024 19:27

No functioning democracy should have laws against blasphemy.

How do you feel about tightening up the laws on homophobia similar to what you have requested for islamophobia?

I truly believe in fairness and justice for all. I just wish everyone could live in peace with each other regardless of religion, skin colour, or sexuality

RubyWinehouse · 29/04/2024 19:31

I refuse to watch mainstream news as I no longer trust what is being reported, instead I watch a channel on YouTube called Tousi TV, the man behind the channel is a Persian born journalist who sought refuge in the UK when he was a young child with his mother, his ratings are beating mainstream news channels in the polls, definitely worth having a look.

It is incredible how some people mention Muslims as one big homogeneous group. It is as ridiculous as talking about Christians as if they are all the same. There are as many ways of being a Muslim as there are of being a Christian. Depending on so many factors, personal, familial, but mainly cultural and geographical.

I am half German and when I see the word 'Loesung' on the German soil, I have to pinch myself to believe the audacity of this word choice. Same word as was used by our Nazi ancestors in relation to the 'final solution' about the Jews. Shameful and I think deliberate. Scary.
