Baby Reindeer creator is provoking his stalker

SPOILERS AHEAD
I’ll preface this by saying I had a male stalker for 7 years. I moved, changed jobs, and deleted all social media in that time. I’m also a survivor of SA, as well as assault after being spiked, similar to RG in the show.

It completely baffles me that he would completely replicate his stalker down to physical likeness, occupation, accent, exact correspondences and references like hanging curtains.

He is clearly not too worried about people finding the real person, as well as her potentially contacting him again.

If it were me telling my story, I would change all identifying details of both of us, because I would NEVER want to go through it again. RG telling his story this way is hugely weird to me and really speaks to the theme of mutual obsession he hints at in the show.

I personally disagree.

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:28

If you identify as a woman how can you advise on what people who identify as straight men can see?

WinterDeWinter · 29/04/2024 15:28

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:17

Can you share the piece for context????

I also reiterate: So first of all, I think we need to be careful to assert that how one person identifies does not make them a spokesperson for an entire gender!!! I don't know if you identify as male, female, trans, non-binary, gender fluid etc. but you speak as an individual. Experts in gender studies have shown it can be problematic to fit all experiences into one of two binaries, and I tend to agree with that.

This is EXACTLY why feminists deplore gender ideology

Because when gender (how you identify) replaces sex (your biology), it makes it impossible to say that men are the problem. If it didn't, it would never have been allowed to dominate culture.

Men are the problem. Men are the problem. Men are the problem.

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:30

Some of the biggest allies are feminists, please don't demonize the great work the feminist movement has done for trans people.

And abusers are the problem.

Are you...

w-wait...

Are you saying that rape is less traumatic than stalking because it...DOESN'T LAST AS LONG?

No, he's saying rape is less traumatic because the rapist is a man. He doesn't think that what men do to men can be as harmful as what women do to men. Because he is a misogynist, who is even willing to downplay or excuse rape if he thinks it will help support his point that women are the worst.

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:31

Not all abusers even identify as men.

Men like you are a big part of the problem, too.

No one wants a 'direct dialogue' with a MRA.
That term doesn't mean what you think it means BTW 😃but I know what you think it meant and I can assure you that no one actually wants to engage with you!!

We just want the MRA to stop posting on here with your toxic MRA crap. We want zero conversations with the MRA...because they don't even amount to conversations, it's just the same crap posted again and again and again by people with an agenda.

Thread is nearly full so I'm sure next it will be a name change for you and then you'll hover around for the next thread that you can spam with your ideology.

He's a wind up merchant and I'm popping him on ignore.

Because the men are going after the woman stalker, not the male rapist.

They go for the weak link. You have yourself done it by excusing the male rapist as less scary.

When a straight man is faced with a trans woman, who do you think they perceive as the weaker?

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:33

No I'm condemning the action not the gender identity of the abuser. If it helps then Ile add that prolonged abuse from a man would be worse that sexual abuse from a woman in my view

And please try keep it too topic and avoid personal remarks. It does not help discussion!

The gender identity of the abuser is irrelevant.

Their sex is all that matters, when it comes to understanding who rapes.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Your comments are absolutely disgusting and abusive.

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:35

It's a shame you cannot communicate politely.

WinterDeWinter · 29/04/2024 15:35

But yes, I am ignoring anything @ExpertInNothing says from now on and it would be good if we could all do the same.

His whole aim is to disrupt women talking to one another.

Yes, that's definitely the big problem in the world. Women not being polite enough to abusive men.

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:36

Depends on the context I guess.

It would be great if we were able to see what he was about to change his name to for the next thread also!!!

"No I'm condemning the action not the gender identity of the abuser. If it helps then Ile add that prolonged abuse from a man would be worse that sexual abuse from a woman in my view"

The drugging and rapes went on for weeks or months, possibly even a year judging by the show.

She, in the show at least, grabs his crotch through his jeans once.

Now, it's not a competition but which do you think would get a longer prison sentence? Just as a clue as to what the law thinks is more serious.

Id imagine him, but she also threatened his family and I don't think the rape were over a year????

Haha the MRAs all sound the same, so it doesn't really matter either way!

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:41

To take us back to the original topic: Baby Reindeer creator is provoking his stalker?

I think one important thing to add is that some people may lie or mislead when they say they have been stalked. They may make false claims in pursuit of sympathy or kindess from strangers. We should believe all victims, but sadly it's not always easy.

If this is the case, allowing the stalker to be identified and give their side could be helpful. So this woman should be given a voice if he has been slandering her.

RespiceFinemKarma · 29/04/2024 15:43

ExpertInNothing · 29/04/2024 15:39

It's unspecified how long the raping continued for but at least 5 times if you count the just the drugs used on him to see what effect they had. If you consider they wrote an entire screen play at the same time, it was likely more than a few weeks.

Threatening someones family, even over the phone, would be unlikely to get a sentence comparable to even just the drugging aspect of the rapist's behaviour.

Wrapping up the thread there with your little summary 😂
