Clothing in the gym

I have seen this going around - do you agree with him?

I think I do, I really don't understand the current trend of ridiculously small shorts shoved right into arse cracks and bandeau bras for working out.

I go to the gym 2/3 times a week and feel no need to dress like this.

Or, are they just 'dressing for themselves?'

I agree.

It's funny how only the posters who are so morally outraged by clothing are seeing arseholes and vulvas and nude genitals so on.
They're so offended and above it, yet they're the ones constantly giving detailed, graphic and entirely made up descriptions of stuff that we all plainly know isn't actually happening. Why is that, I wonder. Instead of dictating to women how they should dress, perhaps this lot could stop subjecting us to their own lurid, detailed fantasies?

Exactly!

Where did II say I have never heard it? Not sure why you can’t read properly.

Was there ANY reason to be abusive to either of us? MumNet is supposed to be a supportive medium. Perhaps you might go to facebook instead if you want to be rude. I hope you would not be that aggressive in front of your children.

You DID say you never heard it - actually what you said was you never heard it from women.

I think your attempt to patronise me by telling me what midriff meant could be seen as abusive. You therefore can't be surprised when I respond that I'm not sure why you can't read properly

As you admit, I actually said it's not a word I hear women use. Not that I've not heard the word.

And I was even kind enough not to correct @Toenailz spelling it as 'mid drift'.

Whereas you and @Toenailz chose to be patronising and rude.

Maybe YOU would be better off on Facebook.

Ahhh that poor man. How the fuck does he manage to get through an afternoon at the beach, bless him.

Honestly sometimes it's just easier to work out in shorts and a small top. Less restriction, not so warm. A lot of men wear shorts and vest tops basically hanging off them to work out. They show a load of skin and surprise surprise women manage to control themselves.

God yes, man nips > 🤮<

In the spirit of the thread, I think you need to either not notice the man nips (what's wrong with male nipples?), you shouldn't have an opinion and you certainly should not voice it.
He is wearing what he is most comfortable working out in.

Agree

It's just peculiar that I manage to get several unwanted glances of the buggers without getting Sexual Thoughts about him Grin odd that many men struggle with this at the gym despite not seeing any actual lady bits!

You mean, in the spirit of people who can't read, who have sexual experiences at the gym that they find offensive despite being totally imaginary and who think men are victims of women's clothing. In 2024.

This thread has reminded me of an old gym instructor I had, when it was really hot (30c+) he used to wear these really tiny, lycra shorts(I do believe they were compression shorts from his days as a martial arts fighter), they left little to the imagination especially when he jumped in front of you 🙈.
