Abhorrent comments made about a persons height

Calling someone who is below the average height, "pint-sized" is abhorrent
at the very least. A person's height is beyond the person's control and calling them "pint-sized," some may even say it's an ableist comment

Yesterday, during the PMQ's the lead was taken by the deputy heads of both Tories and Labour. Standing in for the Labour leader was Angela Rayner. She called the Tory leader, Rishi Sunak a "pint-sized leader" when she was losing the arugument

This reminds me of clowns at work who had nicknames for other people who did not fit in with their agenda. Often people will make disparaging comments about another when they feel threatened because of their own inadequacies.
Should she apologise for making these disgusting comments?

AIBU to believe these comments were necessary, inappropriate and disgustingly abhorrent.

Angela Rayner aims ‘pint-sized loser’ jibe at Rishi Sunak during PMQs

Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden countered the criticism by mocking the Labour deputy over her housing arrangements.

That's a pretty low bar which I doubt you'd reach quite frankly. If you don't even know the name of the Leader of the Opposition I doubt that you'd be at all capable of acting as an MP.

No thank you but the fact remains I could easily do a better job than all of them put together

Wealth, hard-earned by him

This is comedy gold. 😂

Not sure why the lol?
His wife is worth a lot, lot, a lot more but Rishi is a multi millionaire many times over due to his own hard work/skills/etc. Like it or not that is a fact

Calling someone 'pint sized' is hardly disgusting language.

And there is indeed a relationship between swearing and intelligence, but it doesn't run the way you probably think it does - it's quite complex, and in many ways contrary to what you might think.

NoisySnail · 25/04/2024 20:58

@DistinguishedSocialCommentator Got it! Fine for you to make personal insults about politicians you do not like, but if you like the politicians then personal insults are aborrhent.

Hard work bollocks. He wouldn’t know a day’s work if it ambushed him.

Padfootnprongs · 25/04/2024 20:59

I don’t really approve of calling people “snowflakes”, but in this case…

… toughen up a bit?!

Panarycatty · 25/04/2024 21:01

Be kind, anti bullying campaigns, mental health initiatives and yet the leaders of our country speak like this. Has completely and utterly put me off her. This is no different than name calling in the playground, although that can be very damaging and I suspect Rishi couldn’t care less.
She’s a disgrace.

Panarycatty · 25/04/2024 21:03

And no, I don’t particularly rate Rishi, just hate name calling.

No, it's not a fact. It's a rather arrogant viewpoint to assert that it is.

I doubt you ever cared for her much if a harmless bit of typical parliamentary banter has put you off her.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 25/04/2024 21:08

Ableist?! Since when is being a bit below average height a disability? Frankly, that seems pretty offensive towards people with actual disabilities.

Bollocks. He made a fair amount of his wealth in 2008 when the markets crashed. The crash where the bankers walked away incredibly wealthy, while the rest of the population suffered and paid the price in austerity measures.

Hard work my arse.

It is a fact. What L Truss did to over lovely country was mindless and the arrogance was at the next level. The fact remain I can do a better job than all of them put together and I'm standing by that.

You may not be able to do a better job than the lot in parliament but I'm sure I and many others could and without reporting to insults as they do in PMQ as did this woman

The delicious irony of accusing others of “arrogance at the next level” while making a statement like that. 😭

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 25/04/2024 18:53

That attitude of yours is dangerous, IMO. Name-calling is never right and name-callers have reported to the next level, EG, if the first name-calling does not work, try another. I hope you can agree with me.

Did you, or did you not, refer to your former colleagues as 'clowns'?

Did you work for the circus?

Absolute this.

What's really interesting OP is that you veer between ridiculously bad spelling and grammar and perfectly normal spelling and grammar on your threads

Almost like you have been told to make yourself accessible to the common people, and you assume that means we are all uneducated and can't spell, but when you aren't concentrating you forget the act

Not that I think your posts are any more logical or intelligent when you are forgetting to be "one of us", no they still unfortunately remain "on brand", but I think the stupid spelling stuff is just an act

Panarycatty · 25/04/2024 21:38

@BIossomtoes you are probably right. To be honest, I’m sick of the lot of them.
Just find it annoying that they are meant to be our leaders and they often behave poorly.
You couldn’t speak to someone at work like that.

I’ve said and heard far worse things than that at work!

bombastix · 25/04/2024 09:54

And she did, didn't she. She made Penny Mourdant smirk and a few others.

Angels Rayner is not stupid

She is stupid and lets herself down every time. Hopefully KS will pluck up the courage to get rid of her.

bombastix · 25/04/2024 21:45

Come now, let her self down? You mean she's not like you. She isn't like me either, but I can see someone is having an impact on the Conservatives. They are bloody scared of her.

BIossomtoes · 25/04/2024 21:47

Starmer would be mad to get rid of her. She’s one of his biggest assets.
