70s bush envy

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:34

Is it just me or does anyone else have bush envy? Yes I mean pubic hair bush. I swear I have alopecia down there. I would love a big soft bush. Apparently you can get a bush wig which I'd seriously consider.

(Dear Aston University - stick that in your pipe)

I removed mine because of some gynecological issues I was having.
So far so good, everything is perfectly healthy.
I would never have a bush again!

CleftChin · 24/04/2024 12:54

Nope I think it’s vile, just my opinion but I personally like to be hair free, that goes for my DH as well, no one wants a mouth full of pubes 🤢

And yet for some reason beards on faces are all the rage - do you feel the boak about kissing unshaven men too? (sorry, assuming you're straight. If women are your thing then I guess it's not really a problem)

CleftChin · 24/04/2024 12:55

<facepalm> - you said husband, so yes, you're straight. But both hairless below the eyebrows I suppose.

Not that poster but I won’t kiss dh if he needs a shave. Cannot stand the feel of a beard or stubble.

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

I am very well taken care of thanks, I also have pubes.
The 2 arent exclusive

Aswellisnotoneword · 24/04/2024 13:00

I can't stand beards either. Bit of stubble can look sexy but no fucking way would I be kissing a man with pube length hairs around his mouth.

Blackcats7 · 24/04/2024 13:01

I think women have been shamed and pressured by men to removing all pubes. Which is porn led.
This is now so deeply conditioned especially for younger women to believe this is required normal personal care and that are making a free choice. Much like many other so called choices are driven by mens desires.
Swimwear has got smaller and smaller also leading to women feeling the need to remove some or all pubes.
Personally I question men who want women to be bare like a little girl.

You'd envy mine @Sparklybutold it's fablulous. Only yesterday DH headed down in that general direction when he lost his balance and face planted into my bush. I heard a muffled 'I've got a great big bushy beard' as per Hot Fuzz. We have not really stopped giggling about it since.

That really made me laugh 🤣

MagicKittens · 24/04/2024 13:06

JamSandle · 24/04/2024 11:36

I think it was such an easier time in terms of the norm not being shaved or waved to within an inch of your life at all times!

I did wonder whether I'd missed a new trend for Bush Crimping there.

Bananadramallamas · 24/04/2024 13:06

I just trim the borders so my cozzie looks neat. Don't want hairs poking out the sides.
It's a sad day when you find a grey hair in there, though, I can tell you. 😕

I couldn't cope being with a man with less facial hair than me, looks girly to me😂

And beards hide all, making any man look like they've got a nice string jawline

There's obviously two very distinct camps!

MoonWoman69 · 24/04/2024 13:09

I shaved my squirrel once... But then I spent the next few weeks looking like I was ridden with infection in said area! The itch was horrific as the bush grew back! And not an itch you could ignore until you had the privacy to have a good scratch! They were fun and creative times, I can tell you.
The next time it came off, it was due to a product no longer available, called Beaver Creme... Slathered it on, ten minutes later, pulled it all off, as it was like Copydex glue! And as smooth as and no itch when it returned! Used the rest of that jar and never bothered again, as it was discontinued.
Now I'm in my 50s, everything but facial hair has stopped growing; I have no leg or armpit hair and my whisker biscuit has gone patchy, with quite a concentrated bit around the horseshoe, which does get a trim back every now and again!
Having fanny fur, if you have good hygiene anyway, doesn't cause a smell. I'd be happy to host anyones face, at any point of the day, in my foof.
In fact, I have a couple of hours free now, due to a cancelled appointment. I may pop out and conduct a survey... 🤔🤣

Riapia · 24/04/2024 13:09

Even with a lush bush a little minge management is quite important.
Got to keep the borders tidy.

GreenIcy · 24/04/2024 13:09

SocksAndTheCity · 24/04/2024 12:52

I like mine, especially if it's had a rinse with the hair conditioner when I'm washing my hair. It's soft and springy and ginger and cheers me up no end 😊

That made me smile! Mine is not ginger but it is also soft and springy and cheerful too!

Projectme · 24/04/2024 13:11

Equally disappointed...I thought this was going to be a thread about the 70's Pampas Grass bushes in the neighbours garden 😉

and @Bananadramallamas I agree; a sad day indeed. DH and I had a bet, the first one to find a grey pube had to by a posh dinner out. Horrified that it was me who found the first one (but I've not paid for dinner because he's clearly cheated and plucked his first grey one out!!!)

@Muddywalks34 lasered off? As in the whole lot? I struggle with a leg wax right to the very top, excluding bikini line because I'm just hot with embarrassment over it all (pathetic i know!).

CrunchyCarrot · 24/04/2024 13:13

I think it's good to leave one's microbiome au naturel in them thar woods.

I have no experience of bearded men so can’t say, my DH (of many years) is always clean shaven. I’ve never been attracted to a bearded man either, a few days stubble
can work for me though 😬 all just personal preference though

GreenIcy · 24/04/2024 13:14

@MoonWoman69 that also made me laugh! I am starting to notice that my pubes are migrating to my chin as well. I suspect I'd have a great big bushy beard if I didn't check and pluck daily. DDs have promised to deal with my beard if the time comes that I can't manage it myself. A glorious bush is one thing but a bearded lady is quite another!

This theory always rears its head and really irritates me because it assumes that every woman's choice is led by the desire to appease men, and that they dont really own their own mind, and if they think they do, its just because they're in denial and not bright enough to be aware that they've been brainwashed.

It's offensive and infantilising to women who remove body hair for reasons entirely unrelated to the male gaze.

something2say · 24/04/2024 13:17

Ahaha this is excellent reading! I was the only one sporting a proper bush on a thread not long ago, and now there are more. I've also seen some men (!) online saying versions of 'I LOVE IT! That shit got pheromones in it! I want it all over my FACE!! And don't WASH it either!' etc etc.

Re the point about how pubic hair sometimes has to do with the health of the vagina, I read "The Vagina Bible" and the author says the same. I can't remember it too closely, but iirc she said that the biggest and most common cause of harm done to vaginas is from hair removal, and also that those bald vaginas are then subject to trauma through not being protected, rubbing, itching, soreness. That will then cause discharge and so on.

TheSmallAssassin · 24/04/2024 13:17

My bush has got a lot thinner as I've aged/started perimenopause. It makes me sad it isn't as full and luxuriant as it once was.

And now you're doing the shaming yourself. There is something so very creepy about men or women who liken an adult human female to a young girl.

I agreed with the rest of your post, women shouldn't be shamed or pressurised by men but also not by women. We were supposed to be better than that.

I have waxing, I prefer to be hair free. I have zero opinion about other women's pubic hair or preferences.

WildBear · 24/04/2024 13:19

My wife has said in the past that she's up for sex but doesn't feel sexy because she hasn't trimmed in a while. Honestly, a man doesn't care either way! I like it trimmed and au natural. She's never shaved completely so I cannot comment on that.

Fluffywigg · 24/04/2024 13:19

PurpleBugz · 24/04/2024 11:40

YANBU.

People always make the hygiene argument but I think you can wash and keep yourself clean regardless of hair.

I've always felt it's gross. You have no hair pre puberty. Prepubescent should not be considered sexy it should be an utter turn off

Do you shave your armpits?

Yes all off, I have very dark/thick hair so shaving would often just be uncomfortable and regrowth awful, professional waxing every 4 weeks just so expensive and I never managed to perfect waxing at home. So I had underarm, full leg and bikini area professionally removed about 15 years ago - it was quite expensive but figured it would save me money/time and embarrassment (because being legs spread on a waxing table isn’t pleasant) in the long term.
