70s bush envy

Is it just me or does anyone else have bush envy? Yes I mean pubic hair bush. I swear I have alopecia down there. I would love a big soft bush. Apparently you can get a bush wig which I'd seriously consider.

(Dear Aston University - stick that in your pipe)

Previous jobs which meant I worked in sexual health and there was a general consensus amongst professionals that hair removal was correlated with a lot of gynae issues. This of course would make sense given its purpose.

Look, I completely agree that having a completely shaven fanjo as an adult woman is grim, but can you elaborated on what gynae issues it is causing? And is there any evidence base for this? Or is it just some anecdotal reference to HCP’s judging that those with bald bits are more likely to be putting it about?

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

Grim? Would you like a grip?

Redissuereader · 24/04/2024 12:09

I've stopped shaving/waxing except for the bikini line bits and I just trim if it's excessively bushy, like a previous poster, it was great for sex but actually worse for everything else, I had a couple of UTI's after being on my period and just sacked waxing off and I've not had one since.

OldTinHat · 24/04/2024 12:09

I've gone from being as bald as a coot to embracing my 70s vintage bush over the past few years. I used to shave my armpits every day but have given that up too.

For the PP who said lesbians are bald, my gay friend is as mother nature intended, as is her girlfriend.

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:49

Even if it's fluffy? It's like a cushion when your doing your conjugal duties and need a rest 😁

😂 that made me laugh fluffy would be preferable over a tough wiry one though which is what I would have if left au natural 😬

Verv · 24/04/2024 12:15

Nope, I whip mine off whenever it gets to 5mm tops.
Cannot STAND the sensation of pubes, or fanny valance as I like to call em.

LadySugar · 24/04/2024 12:19

A full bush gets itchy and tender for me, so no thanks for that reason. I keep it trimmed.

I'm not a fan of the waxing trend at all

VeryBusyDoingNothing · 24/04/2024 12:25

Another one that doesn't like the baldy look, on women or men. Trimmed is fine for me, although for some reason it grows quicker for me in some places than others (labia moustache)

Muddywalks34 · 24/04/2024 12:29

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:59

@Josette77

Thank god you said that! I was wondering about how you'd end up with a mouth full of hair? Sure a few errand ones occur, but you just remove them and carry on right 😁

If you’re sucking a hairy plum you end up with more than enough in your mouth 😬 I just can’t tolerate the feeling of any hair in my mouth though.

Doyouthinktheyknow · 24/04/2024 12:31

I’ve never done anything more than bikini line and that’s only when I have to!

I keep clean and I am entirely comfortable with my bush. Don’t see the appeal of time and money spent on hair removal. I could never pay for waxing, the idea of lying there while someone removes my intimate hair horrifies me.
Yes I probably am a prude and I don’t care! I’ve had enough gynaecological examinations to last me a lifetime! A wax would feel too much like that!

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 12:32

@CaraMiaMonCher anecdotal here and if you google it there is a trend where hair removal is associated with more gynae issues.

I've never experienced that.
The areas that being serviced per se are naturally bald. I'm not licking the outer labia.

Lol ok so plums are balls! In that case I've avoided hairy balls this far in my life.

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 12:33

@Muddywalks34 good point - maybe my DH has less hairy plums 😂

I'm sure some are! I'm just saying all my lesbian friends are bald and don't like hair. Not my preference. I don't have one.

But same sex relationships people still have their own preferences.

JeysusH · 24/04/2024 11:56

Is it not like velcro though if you're both a bit stubbly?

Edited

I had mine lasered so stubble free 😬

GreenIcy · 24/04/2024 12:40

You'd envy mine @Sparklybutold it's fablulous. Only yesterday DH headed down in that general direction when he lost his balance and face planted into my bush. I heard a muffled 'I've got a great big bushy beard' as per Hot Fuzz. We have not really stopped giggling about it since.

BoobyDazzler · 24/04/2024 12:43

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

Having pubes does not mean you aren’t taking care of yourself for fucks sake.

I couldn’t grow a massive bush. I’ve got a lovely bald stripe where my Caesarean section scar is (it’s very low as my son was very premature). My pubes are also straight so would look a bit weird if I didn’t trim it 🤣

Whatsitcalled38 · 24/04/2024 12:43

I personally think they're itchy and smelly.

I even ask dp to trim his armpit hair, not shave, just shorten aswell as his pubes. I think hair holds smell no matter how much you wash and I don't want that in my face. Picking hairs off your tongue while going down on someone just feels gross.

Allshallbewell2021 · 24/04/2024 12:46

menohnopausal · 24/04/2024 11:44

Taking care of yourself is indeed important.

I take care of myself by drinking a big mug of tea while snuggled up in bed combing my big 70s bush

🤣🤣🤣🤣

The young are reclaiming the assertive bush wielding mons pubis 🏔️.

Dd and niece think hair removal is questionable and arguably misogynistic but dd does remove hair o'th' pit but not consistently.

Niece doesn't give a crap. Also she has an amazing and devoted husband - so it's not having that impact in case anyone wondered.

I was unlucky enough to encounter a stale sweat smelling pair once - I think that is probably the source of my severe aversion to pubic hair, they smelt oddly like mince pies which I also now have an aversion too 😬. The relationship failed swiftly after !

Aswellisnotoneword · 24/04/2024 12:50

I can't stand the feeling of having a full bush, and the whole area feels sweaty, itchy and just generally icky if I don't keep it groomed.

Really would prefer not to navigate a patch of long springy hair with my face either (it literally gets up my nose!), but I respect my partner's bodily autonomy and keep quiet about that.

Chunkycookie · 24/04/2024 12:52

I am and mine has turned grey and is disappearing (along with my leg hair).

Joys of getting older.

SocksAndTheCity · 24/04/2024 12:52

I like mine, especially if it's had a rinse with the hair conditioner when I'm washing my hair. It's soft and springy and ginger and cheers me up no end 😊

Funny when l was young, it was normal. It certainly wasn’t considered ‘taking care of yourself’ nor ‘grim’
