The policing of this parade was so different to the policing we see of the pro-Palestine marches. Whatever you think about the people in either of these groups, there can be no doubt two-tier policing is now a fact in the UK. Which by its nature, makes the police political, and that's something they absolutely should not be.

Why?

Thing is, if there was ever a need for an English army to defend England from attack - it would be the very people who some absolutely hate who would sign up to defend you. Defend you to the death too

As @siblingrevelryagain said, there is soooo much history, culture, and downright amazingness in England. It should be celebrated on St. George's day.

Attacking the police before your celebration/demonstration/ protest (does anyone know what the organisers called it?) begins is not a good start. Nor is having one of the Key Speakers screaming in a police officer's face a good look.

Yesterday's event was not a celebration of England and English culture. It was not Patriotism. It was a rally for far right trouble makers.
