Radical Feminsts

AIBU in noticing a increase in radical feminism on MN?

I'm not talking regular old feminism where equal rights are the goal, I'm sure we can all agree on that being important.

But there is a level of extremism emerging that goes from dizzying entitlement to outright man hating.

What gives?

Sometimes I think we might have been able to further the feminist cause much further f we hadn't had to waste so much time explaining what radical means to people
wilfully determined to misunderstand.

They're deliberately being unwilling.

Most of them (99%) do know, but start threads like this, then disappear after writing one or two posts.

@TheShellBeach True. At least they seem to have stopped quoting Valerie Solanas....

I once overheard a couple of radfems saying me and my friends couldn't be real women because we listened to loud punk music.

Ironically, the woman who started the commenting was a very butch woman, dressed in a three piece suit. She looked great, but had some very strange ideas.

What on earth? How do you know they were “radfems”? What do you even mean by that term?

But do you actually NEED a new patio? Its only a bargain (energy saving wise [him digging it]) if you actually need it.

patios are actually proven to be the best way to bury bodies
unlike puberty blockers in children which have no clear evidence to back them

? if anyone says that, they are definitely not radfem

You're on FWR. We require sources.

I just spoke to someone whose dad used to make lime for a living (not the UK). I reckon someone who makes something that corrodes bodies AND has to quarry things is best placed. Good man to know...

I feel the lack of concern on this thread re the OP's wellbeing very disturbing
he she disappeared after 'nipping out' a long time ago. anything could have happened to him her in all this time. maybe he she came across an example of radical feminism so extreme that he she collapsed on the spot in the fashion of victorian damsels.

I was eating a yorkie bar standing outside in full view of the public earlier. could it have been that?

if I told you my sources.... I would have to ensure your silence and we don't want that
ps do you have this guy's number? asking for a friend...

I was worried all night about him her, out there in the cold, dragged down and broken by half a hundredweight of assorted confectionery demanded with menaces by we awful women. Alternatively he found the Reddit field of ‘quotes we can use against women on Mumsnet showing they’re all terrible manhaters’ was barren, and had no idea how to come back.

This is AIBU though, so you can make any unsubstantiated claims you like.

I didn't know radical feminists had a uniform, I must have missed that memo.

DeanElderberry · 20/04/2024 15:51

I've been thinking of the OP more as Captain Oates 'I'm going out now, I may be some time' bravely risking exposure to antarctic cold / scary women (you decide) for the greater good of the collective.

What are you on about? Last night you were all about the radical feminists being into gender essentialism and now you have one being gender non conforming…

You can’t even make up a good story.

I believe you about the burying- I must admit that I lack experience in that quarter due to living next to a very large lake…

I think it's well known that lakes are notoriously unreliable in this matter.

Are people really still using the word "feminazis" in 2024?

Gosh.

Since OP vanished without telling us what he/she actually thinks “radical feminism” is, maybe you could enlighten us by explaining what a “feminazi” is. I look forward to hearing you impart some of your wisdom.
