I haven't eaten in the last week/10 days (cold/flu lurgy). When I do it's dark (absolutely minimum 65% cocoa solids) but preferably 75-80% so I get more cocoa hit and less sugar. It's rich enough that one square out of a 100g bar is enough. 🌹

I eat 1 bar of 85% each day. Aldi do teeny bars (a 3 square size), 5 / pack. Moser Roth. It's good quality & low calorie but very high taste. Delicious!

Actual chocolate, which I love, normally once a week, on Sunday (not during Lent) but a kind or possibly evil friend gave me a huge Easter egg after I'd already bought a packet of mini eggs, so Easter week was a bit of a choc-orgy. I think I'm back into the routine now.

I drink a mug of cocoa most mornings (no sugar) so my cocoa solids intake is steady.

Is it? I can easily eat half a bar of 85-100%. Just can't afford to, so it's rationed!

readingmakesmehappy · 16/04/2024 18:17

Every day.

Asantesauna · 16/04/2024 18:19

Go through stages of eating it every day and then of not eating it for weeks.
like a pp said its not the same now the ingredients have changed and its rare to find some I like.
actually the only kind I really love these days is cadburys and then only when its an easter egg (the egg itself not the bars you get in it)

if they sold those year round I’d be huge! I can eat one a day!

samestyle · 16/04/2024 18:19

I have something in chocolate form every day, if I'm trying to be good it's chocolate coated rice cakes or I'll just buy a bar, or hot chocolate, my plan was to stop after easter! I bought myself a few eggs in hope I'd be sick of it, but nope. I need to stop this daily habit, id be a few stone lighter if I did.

Every.single.day.

Have you noticed any supply issues? My Aldi hasn't had any in weeks. The whole box of three flavours is missing so not a build up of the least liked one. I've been having to go to Lidl and it's harder to stop at two squares instead of an individually wrapped bar.

unsync · 16/04/2024 18:25

I have a tin of mixed mini Easter eggs still waiting to be eaten, along with other bars and tablets, including stuff from Christmas. It's a bit meh for me nowadays, I find it too sweet.

StrawBeretMoose · 16/04/2024 18:39

Way too often, several times a day and not really in moderation. I know it’s not great but I otherwise have a very healthy diet and don’t drink or smoke. So I basically eat really well and then add on lots of chocolate on top.
I am trying to avoid passing on my habit to the DC, they have no idea how much chocolate I consume and I often decline when offered in front of them (it takes so much willpower!).
I work long hours in a high pressure job, chocolate gets me through.

I was going to say never because I’ve given up sugar (I know you can’t avoid completely, but obvious sugar let’s say).

But now I’ve ordered a bar of 100% black chocolate!

I had a 100% bar - it was on special offer from Ocado but it was awful, like eating a mouthful of dry, bitter cocoa powder!

Hope yours is nicer Smile

ProfessorPeppy · 16/04/2024 18:53

Never. I gave it (and biscuits, cake, sweets) up a year ago and haven’t touched them since. They are my kryptonite.

Montezumas absolute black is amazing!

PinkTeaForMe · 16/04/2024 19:00

I would live on the stuff if I could. I'm truly addicted.

MasterShardlake · 16/04/2024 19:21

Sadly never. I used to love chocolate then developed some kind of delayed intolerance/allergy about 3 years ago. Tried vegan, gluten- free, sugar-free all have the same effect.

Feel fine at first so it took a long time to make the connection.

About 24 hrs after eating it I get reflux and IBS type symptoms, and feel like I've got a bad hangover. Takes 2 or 3 days to feel normal again.

SchoolQuestionnaire · 16/04/2024 19:21

Never or constantly! There really is no middle ground for me which is why I’m better laying off it altogether.

LaWench · 16/04/2024 19:24

Pre menstrual = every day at least.
After day 2 of period, once a week.

AhBiscuits · 16/04/2024 19:32

Probably about once a week.
I was given a lindt bunny at Easter that I haven't started yet.

emmetgirl · 16/04/2024 19:58

Not as often as I'd like to.
I'm late 50s and lots of type 2 diabetes in the family so I need to watch the sugar

GingerPirate · 16/04/2024 20:10

Once or twice a month....ugh.
😬
Not into sweet stuff, but periods....

Thulpelly · 16/04/2024 20:12

Every couple of days. Zero guilt.

nibblemunch · 16/04/2024 20:13

Not eaten chocolate in years dont miss it either.

StarbucksQueen1 · 16/04/2024 20:13

We have a cupboard full of Easter eggs… I’m resisting them but tbh would feel sick if I ate a lot! Ate a Ferero rocher one my husband got me over the course of a week… it was amazing!

notacooldad · 16/04/2024 20:15

I can go over six months without chocolate and then have several bars in one day. I am currently off chocolate at the moment.
