To want DH to stop sending me photos of things that displease him?

So - interests of fairness he is a decent man generally but he has this one habit that really puts my nose out of joint.

Say I have done something minor but I appreciate annoying he sends me a photo on WhatsApp, like a top left off a bottle or if the cat has killed a mouse (he hates cats) or similar. He just sends a photo, no accompanying message. I absolutely hate it, I think it’s really passive aggressive and I never know how or if to respond.

AIBU if I tell him to stop it?

Ha, what a twat. Yes, agree with all the others send something ridiculous back. I quite like the idea of just anything random you spot nearby like a shoe or a signpost something with no explanation.

I'd do this. He's ridiculous, and if it would make my fanjo wince.

Start calling him dad.. And tell him your sex drive just plummeted to nil...

This actually hits the spot but I'm ROFL.

DeedlessIndeed · 12/04/2024 15:46

Next time he sends a photo:

"Did you mean to send this to me?"

KoolKookaburra · 12/04/2024 15:46

That's absolutely awful

pointythings · 12/04/2024 15:47

So many excellent suggestions on this thread, I would find it hard to pick one.

Hoppinggreen · 12/04/2024 15:51

Photos of cats, videos of cats, memes of cats, gifs of cats
Every single time

DimplesToadfoot · 12/04/2024 15:51

I agree with the peeps that say reply with a pic of a cat, but I wouldn't send a pic of the pretty end .... I'd also put a 'cats balls' calendar on my shopping list for Xmas for him

Boxerdor · 12/04/2024 15:54

id sent a photo back of whatever is in front of me too. A chair, a cup etc. if he asks why reply with you presumed this is what we were doing

664theneighbourofthebeast · 12/04/2024 15:54

You could send him book recommendations from amazon
Maybe start with
"Don't sweat the small stuff" then search for books with titles like
"How to make friends"
"Am i being annoying"
"Does anybody like me"
And
"Long time dead"

Moving onto
"Quick low cost divorces"
And "Being alone"

🤷🏻‍♀️

BlunderMifflin · 12/04/2024 16:00

My ever so helpful suggestion would be to send back one of those 'sad face' photos from a tabloid each time. I'm very petty indeed so I would find a good selection of them, screenshot them, crop them and put them all in their own folder on my phone for quick access. Every time he sends a photo, send a sad face pic right back immediately. Preferably a different one each time.

YeahComeOnThen · 12/04/2024 16:00

Send a message Tom the cat. ' you're so ungrateful. It took me all morning to find a gift for you!!'

Unicorn34 · 12/04/2024 16:00

It's the "hates your cat" I'm more worried about! If you're not there is he horrible to it? Sounds like a charmer.

JadeSeahorse · 12/04/2024 16:01

HellonHeels · 12/04/2024 15:06

I'd leave someone who hated cats so Im not the best person to answer.

I agree with the thumbs up emoji suggestion. Or send him back a random photo. Or a photo of his face.

This definitely!

Send him this.

KreedKafer · 12/04/2024 16:03

Anyone who does things like this is a complete cunt.

AdoraBell · 12/04/2024 16:03

Either do the 👍 or tell him it’s fucking annoying and depending how he responds then reply with things like a cat/dog/anything puking.

Gettingbysomehow · 12/04/2024 16:04

Talipesmum · 12/04/2024 15:04

I’d just stick a thumbs up on each one with no comment

I wouldn't be sending him a thumbs up emoji.

Neveralonewithaclone · 12/04/2024 16:07

The 🍑 emoji!

Newname71 · 12/04/2024 16:07

Send him a link each time to a property on Rightmove he might fancy moving to

Verv · 12/04/2024 16:07

What an absolute cock.
Id be tempted to devise a series of month long runs of reply photos.
EG -
Month 1 - Cast members of Dawsons Creek
Month 2 - Candid photos of Vladimir Putin
Month 3 - Torville and Dean
Month 4 - Geese
Month 5 - Moustaches of yesteryear
Month 6 - Y-fronts
Month 7 - Caitlyn Jenner
Month 8 - Nutscapes (see google)
Month 9 - Stills from Carry On Camping
Month 10 - Pandas falling over
Month 11 - Celebrities yawning
Month 12 - Divorce papers, in case he hasnt got the fucking point yet.
