To want DH to stop sending me photos of things that displease him?

So - interests of fairness he is a decent man generally but he has this one habit that really puts my nose out of joint.

Say I have done something minor but I appreciate annoying he sends me a photo on WhatsApp, like a top left off a bottle or if the cat has killed a mouse (he hates cats) or similar. He just sends a photo, no accompanying message. I absolutely hate it, I think it’s really passive aggressive and I never know how or if to respond.

AIBU if I tell him to stop it?

You need to think of something creative which isnt bad but £π¢£$ Up his day.
Years ago when I was married, In was quite content but my window in my bedroom was letting in water and he refused to repair/ replace. He was hard working ,ambitious and used to happily do shopping. His focus most of the time was his phone for his business. I decided that to get his attention was to blow up his phone, clogg up his phone with messages. So he would listen about my concerns for the window. I sent about 100 messages in quick succession itemising things in the supermarket. When he got home was soooooooo livid. And I GOT MY new WINDOW.

Sorry wrong post 😂

Carouselfish · 15/04/2024 13:44

I'd be tempted to gather them all together and make a free photo book called 'Things that Piss You Off' and give it to him for Christmas.

That's a brilliant idea!

Or "Images that only a mad man would send."

You win! Perfect! 👏👏💯👏👏

To play devils advocate, are these things you do regularly? Leaving the top of bottles etc? Put yourself in his position, or flip this and imagine it was a parent posting about their teenager who’s constantly leaving the kids off bottles. Would you be annoyed by it?

Daisyblue77 · 15/04/2024 19:31

Tell him to stop, its nit picking and bullying .

I’d start sending him photos of random objects, such as the toaster, in response every time that he did this.

Or a random fact about whatever he’s sent you a photo of “Did you know that the plastic bottle top was invented in 1924 by William Jones from Liverpool…”

Love this

he is a decent man

No he is not - he is a freak

Totally agree

Even if OP did - her husband's passive aggressive approach isn't going to solve that, is it?

walkerscrispsarethenuts · 16/04/2024 10:21

Just send ones in response of whatever things you can see at the time, ie your computer, the table, your jumper!

Literally 'check mate' 🔥🔥😂

Haha! I know right! 😆
A quick update for you on my husbands colleague! After all those cat memes, he only went and got himself a cat! 😻 happy endings hey? 😆

ALJT · 16/04/2024 13:57

I’d honestly reply back with either just a thumb up (which I hate and find really rude haha) or f-off

Mimimimi1234 · 16/04/2024 15:10

I personally would enjoy the image banter and create some fun memes to send to him. In fact this is what I actually do, capcut is a great app for this. Get creative. He wants to be petty and childish sending pictures, take it up a notch, get your editing skills out and have fun, you could make a montage set to sad music of all the images hes sent and title it 'favourite memories'

SeaMonkeysTookMyMoney · 16/04/2024 18:51

Reply with either thumbs up or okay emoji. I honestly could not deal with that level of childish passive aggression.

FrauGermaine · 16/04/2024 20:25

My husband started doing this too! I sent him back a couple of photos in the same vein which he found helpful! We had a conversation about how cross it made me and that I didn't find it helpful at all but rather passive aggressive. He hasn't done it since.

JaneFarrier · 17/04/2024 11:42

DeedlessIndeed · 12/04/2024 15:46

Next time he sends a photo:

"Did you mean to send this to me?"

This is the best response, I think.

SabihaN · 17/04/2024 16:01

I'd take screenshots and send them back to him!

NoThanksymm · 17/04/2024 16:37

Oh god. Dump his ass and run!

ah. He’s a husband? That sucks. Mine is an asshole too. Recently I’ve tried his behaviour back to him. Shockingly he doesn’t appreciate it. Unshockingly he doesn’t recognize it as his behaviour.

100% this, love random facts 🤣

I wouldn't date someone who hated cats. I'd just send a thumbs up to each pic.

GeorgeMummy · 19/04/2024 12:15

MysweetAudrina · 12/04/2024 15:07

Send him random dick pics.

Better still, get a photo of HIS cock when he is asleep. Make it small. He probably won’t recognise it lol

SeatonCarew · 12/04/2024 21:31

Save the worst half dozen and have them printed on a set of six mugs, with a rude symbol on the reverse. Box them up and present them to him for his birthday. Tell him they're for his new flat when he moves out.

Haha!! Or four with "Pack. The. Fuck. In." Printed in the bottom of each cup!

Also a photo fridge magnets collection.
