To want DH to stop sending me photos of things that displease him?

So - interests of fairness he is a decent man generally but he has this one habit that really puts my nose out of joint.

Say I have done something minor but I appreciate annoying he sends me a photo on WhatsApp, like a top left off a bottle or if the cat has killed a mouse (he hates cats) or similar. He just sends a photo, no accompanying message. I absolutely hate it, I think it’s really passive aggressive and I never know how or if to respond.

AIBU if I tell him to stop it?

Assuming he's there with the 'things that displease him', and you're somewhere else, why can't he just sort them out himself, without the PA photographs? You didn't kill the mouse, and surely putting the top back on a bottle isn't worth an 'Irritated of Tunbridge Wells' photograph?

I mean, DH has a mildly maddening habit of only loosely replacing the tops on bottles of olive or vegetable oil that he's been using for cooking, and which live next to the hob, so the next person to pick them up risks dropping them because the lid is in place but not screwed tight, but he does virtually all the cooking, and anyway, it's hardly a hanging offence.

'Irritated of Tunbridge Wells' 😂😂

Tell him to stop, along with a pic of his shriveled inactive Penis.
Think he might get the message.

RogueFemale · 13/04/2024 21:44

Who are the 6% saying @Notasaruleno is unreasonable?

MustBeGinOclock · 13/04/2024 22:11

I actually would be furious it's definitely passive aggressive.
Send laughing faces back 🤣

cowandplough · 13/04/2024 22:15

Get rid what an arsehole. Has he nothing better to do?

Just this every time.

WatermelonLou · 13/04/2024 22:21

Very passive aggressive behaviours which to me are slightly alarming. In the meantime thumbs up would be a response..

greengreyblue · 13/04/2024 22:22

Even better.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 13/04/2024 22:29

Send him a photo of himself.

CherrySocks · 13/04/2024 22:43

Send him photos of things he's done that annoy you?
Or of major disasters in the world to give him a sense of perspective?
Like he sends a missing bottle top pic then you send him a photo of a major flood.

watersoul · 12/04/2024 15:42

reply with a picture of a cat every time.

This one made me smile 😻

JoBrandsCleaner · 13/04/2024 23:39

Block him.

Littlejellyuk · 13/04/2024 23:43

My hubby used to work with a passive aggressive colleague, and every time he would message my hubby an annoying text, hubby would reply with a cat meme 😆 when I asked him why he did that, he said its the only pussy his colleague is getting, coz he's just too annoying. 😆

So I'd send your hubby a cat emoji or cat meme, and warn him that if he carries on, then that's the only pussy he will be getting from now on 😆

ChellyT · 13/04/2024 23:45

NonPlayerCharacter · 12/04/2024 15:05

Me too. He wants PA communication, give it to him.

Definitely this! Thumbs up or leave him on read continuously and when he finally sends something that he wants/needs a response to just let him know when you see him that you thought it was just another BS message

Literally 'check mate' 🔥🔥😂

QueenBitch666 · 14/04/2024 00:01

Middle finger emoji every time
I'd dump him for hating cats tbh

NoSnowdrop · 14/04/2024 00:12

Yeah I couldn’t be with anyone who didn’t like cats if I had one as a pet. I’d have no hesitation about dumping him and having a happier peaceful life with my cat.

he sounds utterly pathetic for sending you these pics, can’t you just block him? What a pathetic loser honestly I cba with people like that.

MrsDuskTilldawn · 14/04/2024 07:19

I’m laughing so hard at this thread. The ideas for responses are giving me life.

My other half once texted me a list of things that “needed doing” from upstairs.
Texted back I wasn’t his maid and he wasn’t my manager.
To which he replied: You can raise any grievances in your next one to one.
Then we howled for ages and sorted all that stuff out together.

I think it’s so sad when people are so PA. Like, just talk to the person, or screw the bottle top on yourself if your are that bothered.

Overall I think the suggestions of sending back his face or a screenshot of his message as that’s what’s annoying you are brilliant. 🤣

greengreyblue · 14/04/2024 07:47

Love the shocked cats.😂

Whostolemymojo · 14/04/2024 07:53

Me 🤣I have been known to do this with DH. E.G we don’t wear shoes in the house, by choice he would. He stepped in dog shit and thank god took his shoes off by the door. Cue photo of poo covered shoe- your welcome. I will say it is in jest and he does it too. We just find it funny.

Perhaps my DH needs to LTB (leave the bitch). 🤣

JFDIYOLO · 14/04/2024 08:51

He ... Hates ... Cats???? 🧐

He behaves like a Victorian father / schoolmaster?

So what first attracted you to him?

Anyway.

What do you want? - for this to stop.

You could go the equally pass ag route and do exactly the same thing back.

You could take the piss and do funny comments and emojis and links in return.

Trouble is both of these would probably turn him even more into Victor Meldrew.

The only option is for you both to use your words.

BetterLuckTomorrow · 12/04/2024 15:08

I’d start sending him photos of random objects, such as the toaster, in response every time that he did this.

Or a random fact about whatever he’s sent you a photo of “Did you know that the plastic bottle top was invented in 1924 by William Jones from Liverpool…”

Love this!

Comtesse · 14/04/2024 09:00

I might reply “are you trying to sext me??”
