@thisisasurvivor

How the hell do I get myself in these situations

The same way I used to, by not speaking up for ourselves. By being 'nice' and 'ladylike' like our parents (usually our mums) and society told us to.

But now I'm old and if I don't like the way I'm being treated or if I feel someone is taking advantage, I give them a hard stare and say "I can't believe I'm hearing your correctly" or "No, that won't be happening" or as a last resort "Fuck you, the horse you rode in on, and the stable you're keeping it at".

There are benefits to growing old.

No way! What did your sister say?

Testina · 13/04/2024 10:18

Is your sister stupid?

thisisasurvivor · 13/04/2024 10:25

Well my sister agreed initially to an hour

She can't believe this hour is now a 3pm pick up

She just text me

I don't know what she said to her

Fcking cheeky

I'm not having any of this

I have huge debt to pay and no time for other people's kids
The guilt would destroy me

OP posts:
3luckystars · 13/04/2024 10:25

Yeah a total thicko if she is a doctor.
I doubt she will put up with it either!!

Is she not able to be assertive?

LunaNorth · 13/04/2024 10:31

Presumably OP and her sister were brought up in the same family.

People-pleasing can be baked in. It’s not a sign of low intelligence.

thisisasurvivor · 13/04/2024 10:35

She has been warned about the shit she pulled on me

Shame she did not have an excuse for today
She text to say
I can't get back to you until 3pm
My sister called her and no answer

Her kids have a party to go to at 2pm and she has a tiny car so how will she drop them off no Fck sake !!!!

Neck of her

She has gone for brunch it appears (tagged on an Instragram story ) 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Saintmariesleuth · 13/04/2024 10:37

OP, please do not get involved. If you go and bail your sister out, you'll both be at square one with CF.
You've warned your sister. Hopefully this situation will help her put her foot down next time

I hope so
I really do

Lessons learned the hard way

Her gift hasn't won me over

OP posts:
Testina · 13/04/2024 10:42

So you watch your sister’s kids for an hour whilst she takes Brass Neck woman’s kids to the brunch. Drop and go.

Saintmariesleuth · 13/04/2024 10:42

Defintely stay on your guard. There is a real danger of CF trying to wheedle her way back in with you, as shown with the gift.

Unfortunately your sister will need to learn this lesson herself

Testina · 13/04/2024 10:45

What bullshit reason did she give for needing to drop them off for an “hour” at 08:00 on a Saturday anyway?
I honestly would call her and say - you come back for them now or they’re in their way to your brunch.

Inertia · 13/04/2024 10:50

Can you tell where the brunch is? I would offer to have your sister’s kids while she takes CF kids to the brunch.

I'm working this morning

Paid my childminder

I would 100 per cent do this otherwise

Fck her she has messed this up so bad

AuntieDolly · 13/04/2024 10:52

Tell her to come and get them now or you're calling the police and social services. I can't believe the cheek of her!

I did suggest that
No reply From sister

She did not think this would happen today

She is not a total walkover tries to help others

I paid for childcare today I would not dream to send mine up to her after she had such a heavy week

OP posts:
thisisasurvivor · 13/04/2024 11:04

CF knew she was on nights too

Doesn't care less

That's good too my sister needs to provide from 8 to 3pm

And they don't like dogs so dogs had to be locked up in the garage
Fck sake !!!!!!!

OP posts:
rainbowstardrops · 13/04/2024 11:12

If you know where CF is having brunch then your sister definitely needs to go and drop them off.
In future she needs to say no, every single time! Not an hour. Not half an hour. Just a big fat NO!

AhNowTed · 13/04/2024 11:21

AhNowTed · 30/03/2024 16:02

OP she will move easily to the next mug, and rinse them until they've also had enough.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

She's a master user.

What did I tell you.

Pipsquiggle · 13/04/2024 11:21

God this is so infuriating

If I was your sister, I would go to where CF was having brunch and drop her DC off

Also I would say to the group that it was agreed that I would watch your DC for 1 hour and that I am a DR who has been on nights all week and I need my downtime which is more important than a brunch.

Basically I would publically shame her - not in a hysterical way; a calm, deliberate way so that CF would know in no uncertain terms that she was a fucking bitch and don't pull this shit again.
