Not a fan myself. Though like my colleague's one as its a tribute to her late DH. It's his country code which see on vehicles (he was born and raised abroad) his home city's code and first 3 letters of name.

Anyway the few ideas have been taken as found cars attached to them on gov's mot check site. Why should I spend £00s or £000s on a number plate?

Most European countries don't offer them

I really dislike personalised number plates. They are totally optional, just don't buy one?

Don’t care if I’m called a chav , my plate is my late dh numberplate from his car, it means a lot to me for various reasons

Can we please stop making fun of people with personalised number plates?

They are real people with feelings. The rest of us don’t understand the mental toll taken by these people who selflessly take up two parking spaces and drive into bollards for no apparent reason.

They already have to cope with having an ever so slightly shit house compared to the relative value of their car and no greenery whatsoever in their front gardens as ALL SPACE MUST BE PAVED

Please be kind x

I've transferred mine recently and it was no hassle at all. All done online in a matter of minutes.

The complications tend to come when the old vehicle is involved in a write-off situation, or when transferring ownership of a plate, or if you're taking a plate off a very old vehicle that isn't road worthy, or has been off the road for a very long time.

The easiest swap is road-worthy car to newer road-worthy car. That swap is the most common, and therefore the easiest to do.
