To want every women in England to vote Tory at the GR

1000 replies

Hurrydash · 28/03/2024 02:01

So I don't agree with Angela Rayner's description of the Tories as scum, but I get her drift and if she'd been more tempered in her language I probably would have bought in.

HOWEVER

For me - and actually should be got everyone - the only real issue at the next GE is freedom of speech/women's rights.

I see Labour as the destroyer of these and so must vote against them. The only meaningful way to do this is to vote Tory which I am reluctant but prepared to do.

Is this unreasonable?

Happy to be convinced - for real not just words - if there is evidence Labour (Starmer 1 in 1000 women have a dick) may see the light before the GE.

If you actually care about women's rights you wouldn't vote Tory. Their austerity policies have been found to have a disproportionate effect on women. They have refused to protect women working in parliament from men accused of the worst sexual offences.
This is ridiculous. You were sharing facilities with trans women for years before you suddenly realised it was a problem (you can't always tell). And yet due to this one issue you're happy to see the NHS and state education totally destroyed, our rivers literally full of shit and local services totally gone and blamed on councils (which they slashed the funding for).
Seriously, come on!

Please don't lie and use that MYTH that we were 'sharing facilities with men for years' - er, NO WE WERE NOT! 99% of the time we CAN tell: it's in the gait, not just the voice, it's also the square jaw, the lack of hips, the long limbs, big hands, etc etc etc.

Even if we did (which we did NOT because they knew themthemselves by their own admission to stay out), it doesn't make it right, and we had the right back then to call them (transwomen/men) out. Which we no longer have. So please DFOD with your lies that they were in our facilities for years. That's is the biggest lie of all. And it does not make it right that they are in those spaces. Where rape survivors and DV trauma victims are in. NOTHING can make it right or excuse it.

Hell will freeze over first, OP, sorry.

The NHS is crumbling, people are dying in hospital corridors and at home waiting to be seen. Education is a mess and SEN provision is being cut all the time. The most vulnerable in society are being left to fend for themselves. And you want everyone to vote Tory in case a trans woman wants a wee in the ladies’.

Some people.

In case a MAN wants a wee in the ladies. Fixed that for you

If you vote Tory you’re a pillock, transphobia is boring and anti-feminist. Have a good day!

@CatMadam Womens rights is feminist and not 'transphobic'. It seems you're a femphobic misogynist. Don't have a good day.

StarlightLady · 28/03/2024 06:44

Re: Thread title. ”Every women” ????? This sums up what they have done for education

CeeceeBloomingdale · 28/03/2024 06:45

YABU and ridiculous

User135644 · 28/03/2024 06:49

Yes, a vote for the Tories is a vote for women's rights the alternative is Labour fgs

milveycrohn · 28/03/2024 06:52

Personally, I feel completely disenfranchised in the coming General Election (which we know will be this year, but not the date yet).
I have considered not bothering at all, but then women (and men) have fought for the right to vote, so that seems lazy somehow.
I considered the LibDems, but they are definitely the ones who (under the last leader), could openly not define a woman.
If I am away when the next election is called, then I may not bother applying for a postal vote.
If I am at home, then I may walk to the polling station and spoil my vote, or vote for one of the many obscure candidates that do not go anywhere.

Lex345 · 28/03/2024 06:53

Also I am ready to be corrected here-but I thought Labour policy advocated for third spaces and was quite vocal about sports competition with women and transwomen-ready to be shot down in flames though

Trans issues are definitely important-but also definitely not the only women's issues we should be paying attention to.

I would also not be basing my vote purely on women's issues either.

Let's be fair, it has been an utter shitshow for several years.

Will it be better under Labour? I hope so! I actually feel the country was generally a better place under a Labour government last time.

Notmyuser · 28/03/2024 06:54

Ah, the famous English election.

And dismissing rape survivors like me and other women as 'transphobic' is ..... mature? 🙄DFOD!

Pipsquiggle · 28/03/2024 06:56

@Hurrydash
In the same sentence Angela Rayner highlighted:
“We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute vile … banana republic, vile, nasty, Etonian … piece of scum,”

So poor choice of word but she accuses mysogyny, racism etc which was kind of proved just last week when the Tories said Hester wasn't a racist just because he gave the Tories £10m

The Tories don't care more about women than Labour, they are using this it as a weapon to hit Labour with as a distraction to the shit show/ burning platform that is the UK at the moment.

If you genuinely want to see where Labour is on this, listen to what Wes Streeting has to say and read this
https://amp-theguardian-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/aug/13/keir-starmer-gender-politics-labour?amp_gsa=1&amp_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQIUAKwASCAAgM%3D#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=17116073564279&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theguardian.com%2Fcommentisfree%2F2023%2Faug%2F13%2Fkeir-starmer-gender-politics-labour

The Tories are not women's friends. All they care about is remaining in power. They use this issue as a distraction, in a similar way to 'stop the boats' - they honestly don't care about women's rights. Tell me why you think the Tories are the guardians of women's rights? What have they done that is so admirable?

I will be voting tactically, Lib Dem, as I live in a Tory stronghold.

I really, really hate how the Tories have destroyed this country in the 14 years they've been in charge, we're poorer, all the public services are shitter - NHS, education, social care etc. Austerity was a disaster which has hit the poorest hardest. Brexit is just terrible and was just brought about due to Tory infighting. There is more racism. Trussonomics. Boris Johnson. Strikes. More debt now than when they started. More inequality........
I could go on and on and on

Nicebloomers · 28/03/2024 06:56

I get the impression that there’s a subset of women on here who have latched on to the ‘definition of women’ thing as an excuse to vote Tory because they’ve always voted Tory and it’s a nice way to excuse continuing to vote for the biggest bunch of anti-women charlatans we’ve seen in living memory. They are probably only really interested in potentially having to pay more for public school and uncomfortable at lumping themselves together with the great unwashed. Most of us have got bigger things to worry about.

saraclara · 28/03/2024 06:58

The Tories will say what a woman is because it appeals to the far right

Yep. This is purely a vote seeking tactic and anyone with half a brain should recognise that.

I'm a woman with two daughters and two granddaughters. All the Tories have done is made access to services that my DDs and DGDs need, appallingly bad. That's what scares me.

I honestly think there's something a bit wrong going on in the heads of these obsessed one issue voters.

CaterhamReconstituted · 28/03/2024 06:59

I completely agree with you. I don’t like the Tories but they are more reliable on the trans issue. Under a Tory government I may be cold and hungry but at least I can go to the toilet without being flashed!

newnamethanks · 28/03/2024 07:00

Angela is correct. Every woman who votes Tory votes against her future and that of her daughters and sisters. Look what they have done for women whilst in power. Yes. Angela is correct.

Supersoakers · 28/03/2024 07:01

I feel like this is the only playing card for the hard core Tory voters to try and win more votes for their favourite party. It’s so bent and faded now from overuse - it’s completely obvious.

SoreAndTired1 · 28/03/2024 07:01

One can always tell the agenda of someone based on if they call it a 'trans issue' or a womens issue.

ColleenDonaghy · 28/03/2024 07:01

How on earth you can look at the last decade and think the Tories are supporting women is beyond me.

Regardless of where voters stand on the gender debate, it is not likely to be a deciding factor for them. Voters care about the economy, cost of living, NHS, education - all of which are, to put it succinctly, a dumpster fire after over a decade of Tory rule.

I cannot for a second imagine anything that could ever persuade me to vote for them for the rest of my life.

CaterhamReconstituted · 28/03/2024 07:02

SoreAndTired1 · 28/03/2024 07:01

What agenda is that? To keep women safe from predatory men?

SuePotato · 28/03/2024 07:02

No fucking way. I will never vote Tory

ColleenDonaghy · 28/03/2024 07:03

Oh and OP - next time you post one of these threads, add a poll...

StillProcrastinating · 28/03/2024 07:03

Tories are corrupt. Labour are anti semitic misogynists. Where are the Lib Dems when we need them ??

concernedchild · 28/03/2024 07:03

YAB V V V V U

Yes this is a big issue. But if you vote Tory again, this country is screwed. How can you look at kids needing to use food banks, NURSES using food banks, kids dying because of poverty, and decide you can put all that aside?

Supersoakers · 28/03/2024 07:03

The male flasher round here is in a park dressed as a man. The tories don’t give a shit about protecting women from him it appears. He just keeps on flashing. Maybe if he was dressed as a women they would be more bothered!
