To be furious with the Joke Party?

IClaudine · 27/03/2024 09:18

Jonathan Gullis a party chair.

The ridiculous, lying, AI generated videos with the American B movie voiceover.

Blaming the sick and disabled for the state of the economy.

Meanwhile, children are going to school hungry, in dirty clothes and tired as they are living in conditions that don't enable proper sleep. The NHS is crumbling.

The Tory government is no longer a functioning government. It is a corpse, shambling towards its final demise.

AIBU to be furious and sickened and to wonder how on earth anyone could now bring themselves to vote Tory?

And he's by no means the only one.
I don't think Starmer will survive a full term.

Well if he got to even half a term, he would be doing so much better than the 3 most recent Prime Ministers. Heck if he wins a GE he is already doing better than his two immediate predecesors.

Hunt is in on the joke too, and it's not Monday yet

Sky News

Jeremy Hunt on the ONS figures confirming a technical recession in the second half of last year:

"I don't think any of us were expecting the economy to actually grow last year."

Because the Tory government has so underfunded state schools that those near where the PP lives are not fit for their precious to attend.

Consequences of voting for a party that does not believe in funding education properly

Wishing PP well with the move. There are rumours of a summer GE

Fear of public services being worse under an alternative administration?

How?

The London video was shocking and sinister. When Zac Goldsmith ran a dodgy campaign about Sadiq saying that he would tax the gold jewellery of the Hindu community it totally backfired. I hope it does the same this time. Susan Hall seems batshit and she liked some Enoch Powell tweets, wtf is that about?

SerendipityJane · 28/03/2024 11:07

I'm wondering how you can tweet from beyond the grave.

Fair enough, you have done well under a Tory government and they have your vote.

Not sure why you would have to move house away from your friends and community.

They do not have my vote. But neither do Labour. I will not be voting.

We would need to move because we would need to change schools. The state provision locally is very poor and already oversubscribed. So we will need to move to beside the closest state school that is excellent.

And actually, we have not done well under the tories. We did better under labour. But we are not going to be the turkeys voting for Christmas, that would be stupidity.

Apologies for thinking you were voting for the Tories.

Good luck with finding a house near an excellent school.

I previously said I am not a tory voters, never have been, never will be. So it sucks to be in a position where they are actually the only party that makes sense for is to vote for. I am certain that many in our position will vote for them.

Jason118 · 28/03/2024 13:24

It's understandable @Snugglemonkey . It's classic Tory procedure to underfund state provision and encourage paid for (profit generating) alternatives. How much easier your life would be if all state schools were good? You wouldn't need to move and you'd save a fortune!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 28/03/2024 13:49

Murdochs hatred of the BBC goes back to the fact that it was hard to sell Sky when people were getting such a good quality value product "for free". That's communism donchaknow.

That would be great. I do not see it happening any time soon though. It will take decades and our politicians are only interested in short term strategy.

Our adversorial system fucks everything up. It is not beneficial for a party to leave things in good shape for the next. Noone want to spend money on things that may pay off for another party.

An interesting theory is that having totally failed in the regular practice of culling the brightest and best in a war every generation, we are now saddled with an excess of people who are less content with the Way Things Are.

Fear of public services being worse under an alternative administration?

I suppose you could have a look at what public services were like when Labour last left office to inform that decision?

They know what a woman is though.

You single issue people are so, so tedious. I'm GC but I don't think it is the most important thing in the world. Also, self-ID came in under the Tories! They just are jumping on the bandwagon in a desperate attempt to scrounge up some votes. Only a fool would fall for that.

This. Self ID was a Tory thing. Just because one woman in the government has spoken against it doesn't mean the party agree with her.

Or take a look at Wales now.

No. Because Wales now is constrained by finance allocated from Westminster. By Tories. And actualky, living here, it’s fine.

And this too. Every time the Tories point the finger at "Labour run Wales" or "Labour run councils" they deliberately cover up the fact that they decide what funding those places get.

This guy just received a knighthood from Sunak, more examples in tweet

https://x.com/AdamBienkov/status/1773431190554390901?s=20

Conservative MP and GB News presenter Philip Davies handed a knighthood by Rishi Sunak for "public and parliamentary service".

Here's a reminder of some of that service
