To be furious with the Joke Party?

IClaudine · 27/03/2024 09:18

Jonathan Gullis a party chair.

The ridiculous, lying, AI generated videos with the American B movie voiceover.

Blaming the sick and disabled for the state of the economy.

Meanwhile, children are going to school hungry, in dirty clothes and tired as they are living in conditions that don't enable proper sleep. The NHS is crumbling.

The Tory government is no longer a functioning government. It is a corpse, shambling towards its final demise.

AIBU to be furious and sickened and to wonder how on earth anyone could now bring themselves to vote Tory?

Floating voter here.

The more people tell me I MUST vote Labour, makes me less likely to do it.

It’s always the left who seem to instruct everyone else on how to vote. People from the right tell you who they vote for and that’s it. For people from the left, it’s an opening gambit for an hour-long hectoring diatribe.

It’s not an effective tool for me.

Precisely.

I think people are more likely to tell you to vote GTTO and depending on your constituency that doesn't necessarily means voting Labour

As a floating voter, I am sure you will be looking at all parties

domineastronomy · 27/03/2024 19:40

@HappyEater
Agreed.
Some posters on here would be surprised if they wandered over to FWR at how many die hard Labour voters feel unable to do so now and are sick of the righteous sermons.

I guess I am a floating voter having voted for many different parties including all the major parties over the years.

I tend to find that recent performance informs my vote more than what anyone promises.

I thought you said we shouldn't put people in boxes?

It's a box those on the left apparently want to be in. The poster I was in dialogue with literally told me this is how she feels. Thanks for leaping in though.

It's possible to have an opinion without feeling the need to impose it on others. Many on the left seem incapable of this though.

I’m not asking you to impose, but to explain. Many on the right seem to struggle with this.

Really? The right look much more ‘just do it’ to me. No reasons, just ‘Labour will be worse’ with no explanation of why.

Excuse me? I’m that poster. I said nothing of the sort. Why do you think I did?

People draw their own political conclusions over time. I'm not inclined to spend a lot of time failing to convince someone on the internet of mine.

Then why post at all? As I said, I have an academic interest. I would like to understand.

I commented on my perception of behaviour. It seemed easier than starting a new thread. Perhaps that was a mistake.

May I say that I do though like to spend a lot of time on the internet telling people who I am going to be voting for.

I’m more interested in why than who.
Edit - I know you also say. Referring to the other poster.

They know what a woman is though.

Sure. And what have they actually done for women since 2010? Reduced the length of time a single parent can remain at home without working? Shift the CSA to the CMS and made (mainly) women pay for the privilege of not receiving maintenance? Stopped Child Benefit being universal, and bringing in rules that massively impact one income households compared with two? Implemented a two-child policy for benefits making it incredibly hard for some women who need to leave abusive situations to be able to do so? Any improvements in Carer’s Allowance and disability benefits which disproportionately affects women? Did they ensure all SEN children, also in receipt of disability benefits, have a suitably specialised school place? Or do they just expect women to pick up that slack when no school place is forthcoming?

the Tory’s know what a woman is but do they actually care? I mean, they had Boris Johnson as their leader for a considerable period, a man who isn’t quite sure how many children he has and is a serial philanderer? What is he, or men like him, going to do with the knowledge of what a woman is?

Imustgoforarun · 27/03/2024 20:32

I will be voting for an independent. I can’t bring myself to vote for the Tories as they have had 14 years to improve but I can’t vote for Labour either. Both are avoiding the NHS as it is a vote loser. if I don’t have an independent then I will spoil my paper. I’m in the SE so currently very strong Conservative area. I would be amazed if they lost their seats here.

to be honest I’ve lost complete trust in all politicians. The Tories need to go but Labour have not really stepped up.

JessS1990 · 27/03/2024 20:32

Surely @Workworkandmoreworknow you are aware that the importance of knowing what a woman is increases if you know how to treat them as well?

Here's an idea.
Instead of reacting with incredulity at the idea of someone voting Tory why not big up KS and explain how the Labour Party are going to make life so much better for everyone with their clear policies and plans...

There really is no need to big up KS, his record of public service speaks for itself.

You sound like one of those Brexit voters who say they voted Leave because some anonymous stranger on the internet called them thick so they voted Leave just to spite them.

As soon as Sunak calls an election, Labour will publish their manifesto with policies and plans

For now, you can get an idea here

I cannot vote Labour, but I’m not sure I want to vote Conservative. I’ll probably spoil my voting paper. If there were a group of ppl wanting to start a new political party called ‘None of the above’, they’d win hands down.
