I don't meal like bugs, heights, death ... I mean something strange.. unconventional.. something that might need a bit of explanation.

I'll go first -

Water towers ... the thought of them makes me shudder.

Mugs with black interiors. I find it really difficult to drink from them. I don't like coloured insides in general but I can tolerate paler or brighter colours just about. But if someone gives me a cup of tea in a black mug I will physically struggle to drink it, and I love tea!
Actually, come to think of it I feel similarly about coloured crockery in general, but mugs are the worst. In an ideal world for me all crockery would be white and virtually no food would be.

I don't know that I have a phobia but I really dislike mugs with dark interiors and will always choose a light one if I can.

Paul McCartney can’t stand the sight of him makes me feel sick.

Hmm, that's an interesting one.
I wonder if it's his hooded eyes and whether you'd feel the same about others with hooded eyes.
He reminds me of an owl.

Distorting mirrors, or looking into any curved metal surface that gives a distorting reflection.

My birthday, and especially being wished a happy birthday.

IHateLegDay · 12/03/2024 23:44

Mr Blobby.
I've been terrified of him for as long as I can remember 🤷‍♀️
Also, fuck the daily mail.

Having a phobia of the Daily Mail is not weird; it's totally rational!

Long escalators in tube stations

Me too- in my case, not totally irrational as I have co-ordination disabilities and am in some danger of mis-stepping and falling when getting off an escalator,

MagentaRocks · 15/03/2024 18:59

Not a phobia but I hate my bare feet/lower legs touching each other. It makes me really uncomfortable. I have a sheet that I wrap around them when I am in bed so they don’t accidentally touch.

PumpkinPie2016 · 15/03/2024 19:07

Feather dusters! They creep me out so much because they get cobwebby and I have a fear of spiders hiding in them.

I can't stand to be in the same room if someone is using one!

PumpkinPie2016 · 15/03/2024 19:09

@CarterBeatsTheDevil my mum is exactly the same with mugs!

KarmaCaramello · 15/03/2024 19:14

I hate when two mirrors are facing each other and have infinite reflections. Creeps me out

KarmaCaramello · 15/03/2024 19:15

Babla · 11/03/2024 00:56

Long escalators in tube stations

Me too. Especially the ones with round ceilings. Make me feel really dizzy and like my head is tipping back.

PickledMuffin · 15/03/2024 19:21

Oranges, I can't be near them. not so bad whole but when cut I want to run away and be sick. Same with satsumas etc 😞

canttellyouwhereorwhatido · 15/03/2024 19:25

My ex BIL had a button phobia .. it's even got a name

For me (quite normal dead bird phobia ) this was quite out there .. although my absolute favourite was a fear of submarines ... which meant the sufferer could never go to the beach ... just in case ...

Northernsouloldies · 15/03/2024 19:45

3d geometric patterns really make me feel ill.

beckycharlie · 15/03/2024 19:51

Escalators! I fell over on 1 when I was little and now really struggle and will take stairs or a lift over them any day

laloue · 15/03/2024 20:03

Hair brushing against me , so if a child with long hair brushes past my bare arm for example. Just horrible.

Waitingfordoggo · 15/03/2024 20:08

Not really an all-out fear, but strong, visceral dislikes:

Discarded plasters. 🩹🤢

Also quite unnerved by sloths and bats.

Waitingfordoggo · 15/03/2024 20:08

Oh God, and revolving doors. Can’t deal with those.

BartiRum · 15/03/2024 20:14

DistressedDamson · 10/03/2024 22:04

Thankfully you don’t see them too often these days (did years ago/my childhood though😨)- toilets with high up black cisterns😦

yep! Reminds me of horror films!!

EEvermore · 15/03/2024 20:17

buttons (like shirt buttons)

There's a certain actor I have a real, physical reaction to, he makes me feel ill, I can't look at photos of him, I have never seen a film of his, even writing this is making me feel queasy.

No idea why at all, he's the only person I feel like this about, and he's probably really lovely, I just can't read anything about him to find out 🤣

I have this with two actors…they both make me feel ill.

GoodnightAdeline · 15/03/2024 20:32

The idea of lying down on the floor while a massive building - like a skyscraper- is hovering in the air 1cm above my face.

Who? So churlish not to share 😂

Grannyhasthemoozles · 15/03/2024 21:13

When two forks are stuck together by the prongs and you have to pull them apart 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

labamba007 · 15/03/2024 21:53

The gap between the train and the platform edge. I hate it. Get shaky stepping over it. Definitely something from childhood!

i have pogonophobia(Excessive and irrational fear of beards)
its not a fear for me as im not scared but its a extreme disgust

i physically heave if i see a man with one, i even do it walking past in the street

the longer the hair is the worst it disgusts me

i automatically make a sour face then start retching

been like is since birth but didn't discover what it meant until 2021 when i saw a tiktok post

all the men in my family know not to go 2 days without shaving as i cant look at them

my ex (we were together 22 years) shaved every day

i also cant tolerate loads of chest hair or any kind of back hair

legs and privates don't bother me

What does it mean? What did the TikTok post say!
