Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

Anyfucker is frequently unkind and I have a feeling works in healthcare which ties in with the contempt some HCP have for other human beings, comply or die.

LaQueen always was a legend in her own F&B decorated bathroom.

@AnyFucker was around relatively recently. Hanging out on the feminism boards. Also miss the poster who had incredible knowledge on safeguarding. I believe she was banned for being clear on the risks inherent in gender ideology.

Langcleg?

There was a lady who was in an unhappy marriage & her step children were nasty to her, she had saved enough money to buy her own house and her husband didn’t know about it.
She had all the paperwork sent to her work address. Just wondering if she managed to leave for work and never return to her marital home like she planned to.

That was deleted because it pretty obviously made up as nothing added up, she was supposed to completeing on easter friday etc and when pointed this out by many posters she changged the date etc.

Pamela and Kier and whether that was ever real.

I beleived it! Hope the son is dping as OK as possible today xx

ChrisHuw · 10/03/2024 17:59

There was a poster who sticks in my mind because she gave me such wise and kind advice years ago. I think she was called something like Pictish.

I also remember the Jenny wren poster. So sad.

sandrapinchedmysandwich · 10/03/2024 18:00

I have been on here for 23 years under various names.

Pamela, Keir and Jacob I still think about all the time. It was such a sad outcome and she so desperately wanted to stay with her family.

From back in the day there was Thomcat who had a daughter with downs. Her posts were poignant and also really funny.

There was Custardo. Moondog who was always really miserable. Katzgutz. Xenia. Riven and Willow.

I loved Shiney and the penguin thread. I think I am friends with Shiney on Facebook and she is still absolutely hilarious.

sandrapinchedmysandwich · 10/03/2024 18:01

Oh and Marslady. I loved her. We had some great chats

NanaRant · 10/03/2024 18:04

Pamela, Keir and Jacob. Think about them often. Such an amazing writer and she so wanted to live.

The lady who posted the Lobster boy thread has been active in Relationships under a different posting name, it’s still very much ongoing.

CaptainCarrot · 10/03/2024 18:07

A lot of the threads mentioned here, including some of the most dramatic/heartbreaking ones, were troll threads. Obviously, not all of them, e.g., Claire and Pamela were sadly both real and I hope their families are doing all right.

AlohaRose · 10/03/2024 18:10

Oh I remember some of these. Yes, the lady whose ex took even the chutney while she was pregnant (and whose OW was also pregnant at the same time!) posted for years after, she may well still post occasionally. Her son is probably about to turn 10 now! Her ex has no contact at all with them.

I remember Mrs Koala and her children with unusual names. Yes, her life seemed chaotic, she had a DH who did something in the military if I recollect or had a senior civilian role there and who was useless on the domestic front and seemed to add to the problems, I believe at least one of her kids is ND, haven't seen her post for ages, hopefully as her kids grew up a bit life became slightly calmer.

DancingOctopus · 10/03/2024 18:10

Does anyone remember Gabby Loggon? I believe that poster was a he and he wrote the most hilarious stream of consciousness posts.

That's another one I remember, I'm so sorry to hear this is still ongoing and that her DH died.

KTheGrey · 10/03/2024 18:11

@merryhouse
Who was that? I hope it had a happy ending, and she found some things she wanted and achieved them.

BeretRaspberry · 10/03/2024 18:13

NRTFT so someone else might have said it but I really had to wrack my brain to think of this. I eventually came up with the man holding baby Athena one from the 90’s when I realised you meant actual people, not pictures you stick up on the wall!

Does anyone know the name of the poster whose son was in a toxic abusive relationship? Been trying to find out how she (and he) is.
Was it purple something?

Purplelamoshades, she us still on here, thread no3. She updated a few weeks ago, son still with controlling GF.

ChompingCabbage · 10/03/2024 18:14

I sometimes think of Earthmotherimnot and what a lovely lady she was 💔

TheCatOnMorrisseysHead · 10/03/2024 18:16

A lady years ago now- maybe 7 or 8 years ago now I think back, as my now almost 10yr old was about 2ish- who had twins of a similar age to my daughter. Her husband had left her totally unexpectedly after starting a relationship with a colleague who he proposed to almost immediately. He was head over heels for the OW and finally unrepentant, it was horrible. Gave there the runaround about seeing their twins too, as I recall. Her name had "Rose" in it, I'm pretty sure. I think about her often.

Zone2NorthLondon · 10/03/2024 18:16

No one in particular I pop in and out to read & post. I don’t retain it or think about posters. I use mn recreationally for chat. Have enough in RL to occupy me. MN is online chat not an invested relationship

Nudgethatjudge · 10/03/2024 18:17

Fluffydressing Gown (you are missed big time)
The Australian (think purple was in their name) whose son had a controlling GF.
Someone with 2 daughters nicknamed the Dollies.

LaQueen was originally LeQueen, wasn’t she?

Yes, she did that clever name change

I remember Sarah Stratton who I think had a horse riding pic - in the days when we had them

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 10/03/2024 15:09

Quintessential the nice Norwegian.

DaughterDrowninginJunk.

Was DaughterDrowninginJunk the poster with the controlling mother/ family who kept forcing her to take clothes/ furniture that they were getting rid of?

I remember it being very sad as she just kept saying she couldn’t say no and she couldn’t get rid of anything, and her house was so cluttered it was unsafe. She couldn’t accept that she didn’t need her mother’s permission to do things.

Nudgethatjudge · 10/03/2024 18:19

Oh... one I think of regularly is the woman whose young daughter suffered severe injuries at a family BBQ. I hope your daughter has grown up to be amazing.

GlitchStitch · 10/03/2024 18:19

The poster who apparently lived in a 1 bedroom apartment with her 2 young sons and her husband. They all shared a large bedroom. She used to post all the time about living in central London, eating out all the time, having a full time nanny etc. Was it artandco or something like that? Was she outed as a troll?

Sleeptastic · 10/03/2024 18:22

It makes me so sad to see how many lovely MNers we have lost. 😥💐
