Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

@GlitchStitch yes, Artandco turned out to be a troll. That one surprised me TBH. If I were going to invent a fantasy life, I'd make it more interesting than living in a tiny flat in London with two little boys whose main characteristics seemed to be that they stayed up until 10:00 every night and were very adventurous eaters. 😂

The poster who apparently lived in a 1 bedroom apartment with her 2 young sons and her husband. They all shared a large bedroom. She used to post all the time about living in central London, eating out all the time, having a full time nanny etc. Was it artandco or something like that? Was she outed as a troll?

Yes- someone accidentally resurrected a zombie thread about something dull AF- car seats I think- and there was a comment from years ago by artandco with her kids ages on it and it didn’t tally at all with her kids she wrote about the whole time. Someone challenged her and it all sort of unravelled and she disappeared, never to be see against To be fair she was pretty clearly, at the very least, grossly exaggerating.

Young poster who had 2 children with a weed user and she seemed to have a prescription drug issue herself. She was told time and time again to get out but didn't. Her kid didn't even have a winter coat as he smoked away all the family finances and didn't work. I always think of those two kids with fuckwit parents and really hope that SS found them. Her username was cocodemoll or something.

She’s one I always remember as my daughter is the same age as her daughter. She posted a lot and I got quite invested in the threads. I hated to think of her daughter being cold because of her selfish parents.

She was so used to the weed smoking, which was depressing. She posted one thread about worrying people would think badly of her because her three year old had a tantrum in the park, and seemed astounded that most people who find the way her DH was smoking weed in a playground more offensive.

She left the useless DH after he was violent to her, but went back to him.

KaitlynFairchild · 10/03/2024 18:26

The American lady (I cannot remember or find her username) on the Feminism threads, who was living rough. I haven't seen an update in a long time and hope she is okay.

DancingOctopus · 10/03/2024 18:28

I also remember someone called something like Multiple Mama who claimed to have various multiple children. Her father in law or father was Russian. As she posted more she claimed various health problems and premature births.
In the end she turned out to be a troll.

There was a woman who had two older sons with an absolute cnut of a man, and she had met someone new and lovely and was pregnant by him but was suicidal and regretful as her ex was still a bastard and was turning her sons against her and she was so low and really unhappy. I think about her sometimes as I think her baby would be about 2 now

I often think of this one. The oldest wanted to go and live with his dad if I remember correctly and she was due a baby. So sad.

WingsofRain · 10/03/2024 18:29

I would love to know what happened to the lady who stopped giving her colleague lifts after two years of putting up with her sitting in the back eating tuna sandwiches.

Threads just disappearing before we find out what happens in the end is a very frustrating feature of the site.

I think one of her names was Redstripelassie?

She name changed to similar things but was easily recognisable. I think she had another baby.

This person had a thread recently so she's still around. I don't recall her current username though.

CogitoErgoSum (or something similar) who was on the Relationships board. Always sound advice.

I believe you are thinking of @CogitoErgoSometimes - she is the one I miss seeing posting. She sometimes just got called Cog & always used to give really good advice.

I think she just liked being smug about everything. In a way she was harmless but in a way she was a cow because if there was a thread where someone was having issues with their dc’s sleep or diet or screens or exercise she’d pop up to tell us how her imaginary kids ate sushi and slept till 9am, and then played quietly together until she was ready to do a 10k family run to an art gallery. What a crock of shit 🤣

FluffyFanny · 10/03/2024 18:32

Riven sticks in my mind the most with her many posts about her difficult life with her severely disabled daughter who had cerebral palsy. She made the national press eventually and David Cameron became involved.

The poster who left her abusive OH and bought a red toothbrush because he wouldn't let her have anything red.

I so hope she is happy and free now.

Yes!! That's the one I remember well.

ChampagneSuperDrinker · 10/03/2024 18:35

GoJetterGirl always sticks with me who lost her wonderful GoJetterBoy to terminal cancer at just 7 years old. I think about her and her little boy all the time.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/03/2024 18:36

Yes I read the threads from EarthMotherI'mNot , amazing woman with what she did for these children. Fostering a tiny drug addicted baby who was removed at birth. Her thread was very much a "Oh my goodness , my world is going to change here- advice please" tone .
By that , I mean she was not afraid to ask for help . And it wasn't an "Aren't I fab" post . It was a "This is BIG "
When she did take charge of this teeny infant and had to deal with her weanng off heroin , the Social Workers , the birth parent/s ........and all the time knowing that the best end result all round was for the baby to find her Adoptive Family (which she did) but must be so hard to know you have to let them go .

And there are some I haven't seen for a while and I have no wish to see again. But it wouldn't be kind to name .

I was thinking of the lady called Pamela the other day who posted throughout her illness and up to her death. And of her husband and son.

MilsonWilson. Or WilsonMilson.

I think of her too.

Does anyone know the name of the poster whose son was in a toxic abusive relationship? Been trying to find out how she (and he) is.
Was it purple something?

I think it was purplelampshade. I think of her often 😪

I thought you meant wall posters and was going to say: “Yeah why did everyone think that black and white Athena poster of the man and baby was the dogs?!” I didn’t understand it then, don’t understand it now!” 😂

I wonder what Athena man looks like today, he must be in his 50s… 🤔

I thought the same until I started reading the thread!

Jimmychoo69 · 10/03/2024 18:40

@TheCatOnMorrisseysHead I think about the same poster and wonder what happened and I hope she is having a fabulous life with her twins. Her name definitely had “rose” in it.

Yeah. And the DH that had gone out for a takeaway and hadn't come home or replied to read messages. That then disappeared with some funny message about the back of a sofa! I assume it was a troll. I think most of us did. But it was a bit of fun on a wet Sunday evening.

Fluffydressinggown. I always think of her doing her colouring in and what she went through.

Yes I was going to say Fluffy, she was lovely. I hope her family are coping as well as could be hoped.

Snazzysausage · 10/03/2024 18:43

The one I sometimes think of was one of the first I read on here. A young women who had a lovely lifestyle,no money worries, stables, horse, lovely house and loving husband. She thought. One day he beat her up out of the blue. At A and E she discovered she was pregnant after they'd been trying for ages with no luck. Must have been 2017/18. Her world had crumbled and I hope she's ok.
