Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

Could anyone pls link a post from the Australian woman with the son who had the terrible girlfriend?

Eddielizzard · 10/03/2024 21:49

The poster who moved to NZ with her DC and DH to be with the DH's family. He had told her how he'd be in charge of the family business and how great it would be. Turned out it was all lies, his family were alcoholics and dysfunctional, he wasn't in charge of the business. The DC were unhappy, she couldn't work. It was a nightmare. She stopped posting after a while, she got incredibly depressed. I do wonder whether she managed to work it out and how she's doing now.

MrsPositivity1 · 10/03/2024 21:49

Yes, me too. It was such an incredibly sad situation. She lived in Northern Ireland

I haven't read the responses so sorry if I'm repeating others.... but the lady with the red toothbrush.

BotDranning · 10/03/2024 21:51

Pamela...

Not so long ago. I still think of her and her family.

ZaZathecat · 10/03/2024 21:51

I miss Cogitoergosometimes who used to give lots of wise advice on the relationships board.

Theredjellybean · 10/03/2024 21:51

I haven't read whole thread..but remember Raven...she changed how I speak or address parents of my paediatric patients.
I'm sure Cod...in all her forms has been mentioned and does any one remember the poster whose dd was married to lobster boy?

happyhippo24 · 10/03/2024 21:52

This post has made me think about a thread with a teenager who was pregnant and I think she eventually told her parents and her and bf lived with them. Possibly in some sort of annexe? I’m sure she had a girl.

Pamela and Kier and whether that was ever real.

It was as I saw her death notice online

Newgolddream70 · 10/03/2024 22:03

RoxanneMonke - her husband was having an affair and they split up. She was a class act and handled everything amazingly. I hope she is okay and happy.

Gojettergirl who tragically lost her ds, he was a big go jetters fan! It was so sad, and I often wonder how the family are now.

BangingOn · 10/03/2024 22:11

MoreLegsThanMe who wrote with such dignity about the raw pain of her marriage breakdown. I hope she is doing well.

minuette1 · 10/03/2024 22:11

I wonder from time to time whether bananafish81 ever became a mother - she was so supportive on the infertility threads a few years ago and had an amazing sense of humour. I hope things worked out for her.

SofritoBurrito · 10/03/2024 22:12

One a few years ago from a mother whose daughter had a got tied up with a very controlling man at university and was becoming more and more isolated. I've no idea why but it's always stuck with me.

And Catthiefkeith who introduced me to Mumsnet and who's kindness and humour I will never forget.

marmaduke12 · 10/03/2024 22:15

Thanks heaps. I was after one of the earlier ones. Or if anyone remembers any specific examples of the girlfriends weird behaviour. I do have a reason for asking. Ta

pinkhousesarebest · 10/03/2024 22:16

Lovely Mimnooch who lost her son Will to a brain tumour. I think of them so often , especially in February.
Bonsoir. She was a one off. I think she was ill.
Tunnocks who lost her husband. I wonder how she and her kids are.
And little Joseph who died of neuroblastoma. His brave, brave mummy.

I assume the title was the same in the earlier threads. She said in the update that thread 4 got deleted. Not sure why.
