Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

The one whose daughter was in ICU and she posted the wrong name at one point (Claire vs Clara). The thread was deleted and reinstated a few times before being deleted for good. Most likely someone with Munchhausen by Internet but it was one of the more believable long-running hospital sagas on MN.

And the thread from a few years ago who had a bizarre houseguest who refused to leave her room. Apparently they were only friends with the husband and didn't know the wife at all who hid in her room the entire stay. Also binned food that the host gave her. There never seemed to be a conclusion to the story as the guests presumably left. Would love to have know why she never left the room!

There was a poster who was having a terrible time mentally in the lockdowns; she posted about feeling suicidal. I think she was called Kittensarecute. I often wonder if she's okay now.

The lovely lady who fostered babies and some really poorly babies too. Was gutted to hear that she died. What a remarkable woman she must have been

Pretty certain AF’s second home was a caravan. And she gives great advice.
I met MIFLAW irl- he posted on opol bilingual threads and amazingly constant and encouraging presence on alcoholism and AA threads.

A woman who said she was stuck in Dubai pregnant with no friends with a demanding abusive husband and needed help.

Posters suggested she come back to the UK, contact family or get help by claiming credit.

She said she couldn't come home. Then a private detective or something posted that she owed money to many music artists she had scammed and to come clean and back to the UK.

The post ended very abruptly.

One about a poor woman who worked in a meat factory and rushed out to collect her young son from school, but was embarrassed at the school gates because she smelled bad.
As someone with an office job and more flexibility on her hours, my heart broke for her.

Plenty of threads referenced on this thread were troll threads. You can eye roll all you like.

I just want to know about the poor lady whose DH had the massive fluorescent fish tank in the living room that was giving her blinding headaches. Sounded unbearable.

There was a post a few months back from a woman whose husband wanted to drug her and then have sex with her when she was sedated.

I think about her a lot! I hope she got out of that relationship and hasn’t come to any harm!

Her last thread was so so desperately sad, i remember it well.. I just hope after meeting David C, that she got the help she so badly needed.

It was the brown nosing on that thread that got me one poster said that AF deserved to be allowed to go to her second home because of all.the " great advice"
Never mind that we were in a pandemic apparently the restrictions shouldn't apply to her because of how " amazing " she was
I don't pay much attention to AF so can't comment on her advice but the brown nosing was nauseating

I think Oddsocks or similar name going round on the night bus as she was homeless..

I remember a poster with a name like Oddsocks who was a nurse and a hunt saboteur.
Also Seeker/BertrandRussell who was strongly opposed to private education and posted on virtually every education thread.
Years ago I remember theincrediblesteamingnit who used to get quite cross if anyone disagreed with her.

Also the woman who advertised her summer house for sale. A guy came to dismantle it and brought his mother with him and she sat in a deck chair watching him. She even brought her own sandwiches. I think she was Asian (and didn't speak English so the OP couldn't talk to her) .. It was so random, funny and adorable.

That was the Elderly Korean Lady, but I don't recall the poster's name. At one point the OP's little boy was happily sitting on the Elderly Korean Lady's lap. A lovely gentle thread.

I sometimes wonder how many towels the poster took to Devon who posted for advice on this and received hundreds and hundreds of replies from Mumsnettera with strongly held views about exactly how many towels and what type she should be taking

No specific names, but I do think about the quite a few posters who were leaving a partner/husband are were terrified because he's making noise about how he's going to make a big deal in court that she's on antidepressants or being treated for anxiety, or she took drugs occasionally when she was younger, or generally make out that she's mentally ill and an 'unfit mother' and so he'll get custody of the kids. Which you know men like that don't even want.

I hope all those men got their asses kicked in court when it became obvious they didn't really want and weren't capable of having full custody of their kids.

The often quoted Mexican house theif thread isn't actually a thread it's just a post on a very long thread about cheeky fuckers I think it's in classics .

I remember a thread she started during COVID when everyone was at each other's throats for daring to step a toe outside their front door.

posters were really flamed her (I don't want to give too much detail in case it strays into TAAT) so I'm actually not surprised if she decided not to post anymore. It may be a wrong interpretation of mine, but anyway, that's when I last saw her on here.

I remember this well. It really stuck with me. She posted in OTBT, so those threads are long gone, but I remember she was Lou and her husband fucked off with his pregnant mistress before they realised Lou was pregnant. Adam must be in high school by now! I really hope karma got the Chunt in the end, but I doubt it.
