Posters you still think about

Proof I probably spend too much time on here but does anyone else have posters they still think about every now and again?

Mine is the Australian poster whose son was in the abusive relationship and her many threads about helping him get out of the relationship and realizing she was toxic.

Can’t find the threads at all now but I hope her and her son are still doing well!

Does anyone else have stand out posters or threads that stick in their minds?

Been on here for a very long time, anyfucker was/is my favourite - always has been.

Feel like I've not seen her on here for a while though?

I went off Anyfucker in lockdown. So quick to tell others to LTB, no consideration of practicalities for women. In lockdown she revealed she had a second home. Someone affluent enough to be a double home owner smartly and assuredly telling other women to LTB and into dire poverty, really pissed me off.

I was thinking of the lady called Pamela the other day who posted throughout her illness and up to her death. And of her husband and son.

Was her user name zombie something or other? Very very sad.

ssd · 10/03/2024 19:35

I miss sparklingbrook very much

And scottishmummy

This post is like deja vu.
that mum came back and said all was well… months ago.

for me, it’s the poster who said her dad found a secret door that lead to a small dark room with a telly and bed, just off the garage.

Mrs Koala
Scottishmummy
La Queen
Bonsoir

I remember three of these,
Scottish mummy I think she typed 'words on a screen' once and it was just funny if it was her. Very blunt and to the point.
La queen - farrow and ball posts that seemed to wind people up!
Bonsoiranna I think? Often talked about French women and fashion?

The names I remember:
Trinity Rhino
Riven - I remember her clearly.

BitofFun and the beautiful portrait her partner painted - if I recall correctly.

And of course.. COD!

The one I think of was a woman who thought she had cancer, was a single mum with a daughter but got the all clear and we had a little banter about wearing red lipstick to celebrate.

Asosbabe · 10/03/2024 19:38

Yes. I worry about some of the ones who've been flamed. There are some people who are a bit lonely on here and there are also some utter bullies

loupiots · 10/03/2024 19:40

Gosh, some of these names bring back memories. I joined this site when my firstborn was about three and is now 17.

MrsDeVere was a wonderful poster and gave me a lot to think about during a difficult time that I posted about and she was super supportive.

Scottishmummy - I had a lot of disagreements with her but respected her viewpoint and that she was sharp as a tack. That goes for Dittany as well.

AnyFucker - another poster where I respected her forthrightness and insight even when I disagreed vehemently with her.

Also very clearly remember expatinscotland and her daughter.

So many more - I remember the headgirl clique with cod and others. It was a very different vibe back then, much smaller and distinctive.

NewMoonontuesday · 10/03/2024 19:40

Think about it, I think she was a nanny.
I remember Sparklingbrook, didn’t she love DuranDuran?
Also Woraliberity, or something.

Noshowlomo · 10/03/2024 15:34

There was a woman who had two older sons with an absolute cnut of a man, and she had met someone new and lovely and was pregnant by him but was suicidal and regretful as her ex was still a bastard and was turning her sons against her and she was so low and really unhappy. I think about her sometimes as I think her baby would be about 2 now

The new man was just as bad and she knew having a baby would be the final nail in the coffin with her sons. But she contradicted herself a lot so I hope it wasn't real.

Comedycook · 10/03/2024 19:41

Sorry if she has already been mentioned but I cannot get through over 300 posts! But ghost spirit. She has about six kids I think and a very chaotic sounding life with an ex who was coming and going. She seemed like a sweet woman who made quite terrible decisions.

Topicmanger · 10/03/2024 19:43

There was a poster called Meowthecat who was kind and gave me helpful advice when my son was a baby.

Hakunatomato · 10/03/2024 19:45

Hakunatomato · 10/03/2024 19:30

EggyAllenPoe. She had a little boy who became ill with leukaemia, if I remember rightly. He went downhill so quickly, within weeks he had died.he died art the beginning of March. I remember because it is my birthday on the 7th March. I planted some flowers in his memory in my garden. I think of her little boy every year when the flowers come up.

Just searched and found the threads. Mum changed her name to EdgarAleandPie. It was in 2011 and the little boy was called Leo. If you’re reading this, Leo’s Mum, there’s a stranger who thinks about your little boy when March comes around. I hope you’re doing OK.

She's still around, she's posted loads of threads recently under different usernames.

mcmooberry · 10/03/2024 19:49

I think of Pamela often too, I won't forget her.

Another poster I think of which was just a random thread among so many was a poster who got rid of an unbelievable CF of a cocklodger who was giving her only £60 a week towards rent, bills, food etc (as in less than it actually cost her to house him) and then tried to charge her petrol money for taking her sick child to hospital in his car. I hope she managed to stand firm and not take him back and found happiness with a decent person.

drspouse · 10/03/2024 19:49

I always think of gaelicsiog and TheFirstMrsDeWinter (the first one I managed to Google so at least one other person thinks she existed but I may have the second one wrong).
The first had a dreadful ex who wanted to have about 8 children in 2 bedrooms and kept insisting her DD lived there 50/50 but had no room for her IIRC.
The second had an abusive H who was trying to get her pregnant by stealth when she was trying to escape via education.

And the other one was dellacucina who did name change so may be around.

Anyone got any clue what happened to them?

Oh interesting. I hope she's ok. Her life seemed so hard

TheNinny · 10/03/2024 19:50

The mum whose 15year old son has been essentially groomed by an older woman and now she barely sees him and he has been isolated from everyone/thing he had in his life. Breaks my heart and I hope things will improve and he will come back.

Makes me realise that no matter how close we are to our children a bad relationship (or person) in their lives can change everything so quickly.

Once got a pasting from AF in her trademark blasée style. Swiftly cheered on by her groupies. People have even started threads dedicated to praising her, I could never see it myself. Then the lockdown post about “ I’m missing my second home dreadfully” , that was the cherry on the cake.

ForTonightGodisaDJ · 10/03/2024 19:53

The one who was a swinger AMA. I was warning her about STDs/dangers etc etc and eventually I got chucked off! But I was only trying to help her 😔

Pamela was MillsonWillson or something similar.

Zombie was Zombie in different guises and talked about herself in the third person. Very strong woman ❤️

Herdinggoats · 10/03/2024 13:19

The one whose brother was living with a woman and she wouldn’t get rid of her dog. He’d given her an ultimatum and she’d told him to leave. The OP wanted to convince the woman to keep him.

I remember that one like she was going to get rid of a dog she loves to keep him. There was another one said her brother's partner had a dog she refused to get rid of. Said the dog gets spoilt she paid for the dog not him. DB could'nt afford to treat his children not their children. She had no children so the dog was her child.

Yes, heaven forbid she should tell women they deserve better than to have their heads kicked in.
What does her having a holiday home have to do with anything?

Wetblanket78 · 10/03/2024 19:57

The posters who post about leaving abusive/control relationships. I've been in a financially controlling relationship myself so do have an idea.

CanadianJohn · 10/03/2024 19:58

Droppit · 10/03/2024 16:12

CogitoErgoSum (or something similar) who was on the Relationships board. Always sound advice.

I remember her also, I was disappointed when she stopped posting.

TwittleBee · 10/03/2024 19:58

@Emotionalsupportviper Most of it we have got back but unfortunately the part that got built on we are still contesting. Council don't care that something has been built without planning permission there at all and our legal advice hasn't been great either. At a dead end, especially as its getting too costly now really.
