Woman asked to make a roast 2 days after giving birth

This video seems to be doing the rounds atm - anyone seen it?

I hope it’s fake but if not, how utterly ridiculous and good on the woman for filming and publicly humiliating her partner.

Fucking hell!! What a man!!

I really hope she leaves him!

JustBloodyWellSayNo · 09/03/2024 16:22

If that's real, didn't she know what a useless piece of shit he was before? I hope she's got a mum/sister/friend who can help her with her new baby

phoenixrosehere · 09/03/2024 16:28

The comments from people agreeing with him are ridiculous, the worse from actual mums. Never ceases to annoy me when women like that assume because they had it easy, it’s the norm. It is said by medical professionals, that the first 28 days after a woman gives birth are the most dangerous for her and her baby or babies.

Flickersy · 09/03/2024 16:32

Good god, now I've seen everything. What a first grade arsehole.

TonTonMacoute · 09/03/2024 16:34

She’s way too late. Was she forced to breed with this loser, or did she choose him herself?

TempName247 · 09/03/2024 16:34

Not that I think this situation couldn’t or hasn’t happened but I’m pretty sure this is fake, sounds like bad acting to me

LoudSnoringDog · 09/03/2024 16:36

It’s fake

Fallenangelofthenorth · 09/03/2024 16:39

It's quite obviously bad acting. That accent is local to me so maybe that's why I can tell It's scripted.

Moier · 09/03/2024 16:49

It's fake.. same actors do loads of these videos.. all on Facebook and Instagram.

WelshNerd · 09/03/2024 16:53

Most of this stuff is faked for engagement.

Although for the record I did Christmas lunch for 6 people a week after given birth. What's she complaining about?

WhatFlavourIsIt · 09/03/2024 16:55

It's pretty obviously fake. There's loads like this on 'It's gone viral'. Bad scripts & terrible acting.

mitogoshi · 09/03/2024 17:10

It's fake but I personally don't see the issue with cooking 2 days postpartum- no way would I let exh near the kitchen to burn food! I made dinner the day after I gave birth and made him look after the dc.

phoenixrosehere · 09/03/2024 17:12

Fake or not, there are unfortunately women who do go through this.

waterlellon · 09/03/2024 17:13

Is this some sort of highlight how shit some men are after pregnancy ad?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/03/2024 17:17

As PPs have said, it’s obviously not real but there are 100% men out there like this.

Jesus wept, you're as bad as the twitter. Would you like a medal for dancing attendance on your family to the detriment of your own health. I just hope they were grateful.

You should appreciate how hard it is and maybe how some people just can't do it.

After my first, there was no way I was up to cooking a ready meal let alone a roast! After my second, I was doing the school run on day 3. I felt fine. However, my DH didn’t expect me to do either and happily picked up all the slack so I could recover. I’m due imminently with DS and I know he will do the same again.

Good for you.

I've never cooked for 6 people in my life, because I don't bloody want to, and I'm certainly not post partum. I would be even less inclined to cook a roast for my PILs, 2 days after giving birth.

Neither would I.

No issues during pregnancy but postnatal, not after two days or a week. I couldn’t even walk half a block with my second (was sitting on a donut for a bit over two weeks) and had iron transfusions, third ended up going back and forth to the hospital over possible post-eclampsia or DVT, add in establishing nursing all three kids, pulling of stitches when I walked, no way was I cooking anything as big as a roast.

Think it odd that new mums are expected to do this but others having been in the hospital aren’t.

You had sex with an adult human who can't provide simple cooked food?

Hufflemuff · 09/03/2024 18:04

What an arsehole he is, not just the demand but the way he's speaking and critiquing her.

I made a full Banoffee pie 3 days post partum; but thats because I'm a greedy fuck and I wanted to eat a shit load of banoffee pie. Certainly didn't do it because it was easy or I was TOLD.

StopTheBusINeedAWeeWeeAWeeWeeBagOChips · 09/03/2024 18:06

This is fake, I've seen another video about having a man 'babysit' with the same voices and background. Rage bait.

However the attitude of "I did X so others can get on with it" is infuriating.

I had to do everything, including going to do a weekly shop 8 hours after giving birth because my ex was too tired, bless him. That just makes me want better for other women, not to have them suffer because I did.

Temuaddiction · 09/03/2024 18:08

Horrible man

Yes, I’d be surprised if this is real. Two days after birth if this kicked off surely a new mum would be pretty hormonal and most likely very tearful at this. This sounds like a couple of drama students acting it out.

Willnoonethinkofthebirds · 09/03/2024 18:09

First baby I was still in hospital at 2 days, could barely stand for about 2 weeks.

Second one, had him at midnight, was home for breakfast and ready to walk DS1 to pre-school. We did have a friend over for dinner and to stay over that night. He had come all the way from Australia, he didn't know I was expecting. The look on his face when he saw a newborn baby in the house and me in the kitchen cooking was brilliant! DH was joining in, it wasn't him ordering me to do it. No medals expected, it was just such a whirlwind easy delivery a couple of weeks early that we hadn't thought about cancelling his visit!
