Maybe I'm overacting but I don't think I am. The other day I was at a cafe with my friend (31F) and I was pouting my lips when she looked at me and said 'that reminds me' and started applying chapstick. I was a bit confused by this but then I realised what she meant and I was very angry. But then yesterday we went out again and I can't remember the conversation but I stuck my teeth out in a funny way and she looked me up and down and said in a smug voice 'I need to book my dentist appointment' and she set a reminder in her calendar. Am I overreacting or is this not on? And how do I approach it without sounding paranoid?

And thank you to the 12 percent of people who know I'm being reasonable, I expected a lot more but I suppose some people just don't get it.

Confused

How is holding someone's glasses hostage going to help your claim of non-insanity here?

SmileyClare · 03/03/2024 20:51

Im not a lapdog

OMG you’re so right. yeah only mugs return their friends glasses! What a liberty I bet you’re fuming

SlackAlice1 · 03/03/2024 20:52

I need to know what she said!!

zunchie · 03/03/2024 20:46

Everyone on here is vile, telling me I need psychotherapy and god knows what else. I told her that if she wants the glasses she can come and get them herself but not sure if the message sent. I'm not a lapdog

Are you a horse, rather than a lap dog?

SheepAndSword · 03/03/2024 20:52

Wow OP has been going for hours

Being a civil adult and returning someone's belongings definitely makes you a lap dog.

Just block and unblock each other until it's resolved.

If this thread isn't already on Reddit I'll show my arse in Harrod's window.

There's a mumsnet reddit?

Scirocco · 03/03/2024 20:54

It must be time for OP to give her phone to her parents before she goes to bed, but I for one hope she sneaks it upstairs with her to continue the drama.

marmaduke12 · 03/03/2024 20:54

Tears!! The walrus. Mr Ed. Hilarious gyfs. This thread has everything.

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 03/03/2024 20:55

I’m slowly getting over Covid and have laughed out loud several times at this thread, causing a fit of coughing.

I don’t know whether the nearly weeing is the laughing or the cough.

Now, where did I leave my glasses……

Oh..wait…..

Why have you got her glasses?

Threemusketeers80 · 03/03/2024 20:56

I'm wondering if maybe the glasses are you help her see her insanity? That's why she won't return them

DuoTulip · 03/03/2024 20:56

This cannot be real 😂. OP, do you scream in chapels?

'Pumped up lips' is everyone on here so horrid? Not that its even relevant to the thread but I have only ever had 0.5ml and that was about six months ago so it probably dissolved by now. I'm not saying she had to say she wants filler but she could've said something kind like 'oh you have nice lips' or something else just not mean.

she could've said something kind like 'oh you have nice lips' 🤣🤣

That would be a tad creepy, wouldn't it?

If you expect your friends to issue a constant stream of admiration for your body parts, I'm surprised they haven't all blocked you yet!

Is that you Katy? I’m really sorry but it seems your glasses are being held hostage

You're both of them, OP. Like in Fight Club.

This properly made me bellow with laughter.

DontLeanOnTheKeyboard · 03/03/2024 21:00

But filler lips aren’t’nice lips’. Do you want your friends to lie to you?

ShowOfHands · 03/03/2024 21:01

Is Sharon there? Can you ask her about the dead fly please. I'm still not over it.

But what goes on in Fight Club is meant to stay in Fight Club.

Floppyelf · 03/03/2024 21:02

You need to stop smoking meth. Its clearly not doing you any favours. What rational person would react the way you do.
