Confronted man at drive through?

So I wanted a coffee and decided to drive now to McDonald’s. Did my order and I’m waiting behind another car who is taking ages.

Car comes up behind me and starts loudly revving his engine at me and then holds his horn down after waiting maybe 3 minutes. The car in front of me is around the bend so not visible to him but you’d think common sense would have told him that.

He then gets out of his car and storms by and looks around the corner and obviously sees the car, waits a few seconds and walks back. Had my window down anyway so I asked him - why did you feel the need to beep at me, it’s pretty obvious I’m waiting to move too. And his response was - calm down and he stormed back to his car and made a big show of each time I moved to the next window that he was as close as possible behind me.

Probably a none event and I’m not confrontational at all but how aggressive he was to me for literally doing nothing really annoyed me.

Was I being unreasonable to have said anything or should I have let it go?

@Londontown12 that’s actually so bizarre that it’s hilarious. Disability top trumps?!? 😂

lol I know it’s hilarious 🤣

FirstTimeMum897 · 26/02/2024 20:13

In theory yes you should speak up but I'd hesitate for safety reasons. Road rage is real, there are some horrible aggressive people out there and you were trapped between 2 cars....Ignore next time (as hard as it is!!)

@chaosmaker

Whats not to understand?

The sheer laziness of queueing up in a car for mediocre at best food and all the associated pollution. I have to walk past one and all the cars have ridiculously bright headlights at eye level. So it's also blinding when you're trying to innocently walk past.

Silvergreenblue · 26/02/2024 20:48

I think I may have just detached a retina 🙄🙄🙄

My teen works on headset at McDonald’s drive thru. It’s taught her a lot about what prats people can be. She’s got a tiny female manager known as scary first name. If someone is being a particular knob she storms over and says was he being rude to you don’t serve him.

‘Innocently walking past’. Grin

How is that different from: walking past?

She's hoping the police won't ketchup with her 😁

Your comprehension isn't great is it? I said that might be how he is normally or he might be having a day like I did. We don't know.

Your #bekind and #namalt is nauseating, comprehend that.

The innocence of a body uncorrupted by Big Macs 😂

The combination of fast food and high blood pressure will get him in the end. Worry not, OP.

😂

Moonwatcher1234 · 26/02/2024 21:20

Worst is when people are beeping at and haranguing you with no thought as to
what you might be able to see that they can’t - I genuinely feel these impatient idiots would rather you run someone over as long as they can be on their own merry way again.

SometimesIchangemyname · 26/02/2024 21:23

Am always bemused by the ones who need to show their rage and righteousness by massively speeding up when they’ve got past whatever thing was causing their apoplexy.
Like it’s not hard to drive fast. Any tiny weak person can put a few ounces more pressure on a pedal. Why is speed associated with strength for these bellends?

PeggyPoggleshaw · 26/02/2024 21:23

He sounds like a first class thundertwat. You weren't being remotely unreasonable, OP. Personally, I'd have been a lot less polite than you were. 😁

Treehuggingmutherfunkin · 26/02/2024 21:27

Getting that angry over food is not normal. It would have been obvious to anyone with a brain there was a car infront.

Combattingthemoaners · 26/02/2024 21:28

What a complete wanker. Him, not you.

That's how it should be, I seen to many people rude to service staff especially those who work at fast food. It's just unnecessary

Mnk711 · 26/02/2024 21:32

Coconutter24 · 26/02/2024 19:39

That doesn’t make OP unreasonable

I think it does. Unreasonable means something that a reasonable person wouldn't have done. Most reasonable people wouldn't argue with a person like this, precisely because the other person is clearly not reasonable. But as I said not unreasonable to think he was an awful man.

PlipPlopChoo · 26/02/2024 21:43

Is there a reason you cannot park on bends?

corporategirlie · 26/02/2024 21:51

BMW6 · 26/02/2024 16:21

I expect he was embarrassed when he saw that there was a car in front of you and realised he'd made an absolute tit of himself.

That's why he told YOU to calm down - he knew HE should have!

What a twerp 😁

I think it definitely was that. Because he stood staring at the other car in front of me for far too long - he tried to style it out.

OP posts:
Ohnoooooooo · 26/02/2024 21:53

You didn't say anything wrong but I prob would antagonise someone who clearly has anger management issues.

corporategirlie · 26/02/2024 21:59

rwalker · 26/02/2024 17:45

I’m not disputing the guy was a dick and wrong
but
if it was that obvious he wouldn’t of had to get out
the car could of broken down

He was revving his engine and beeping at me within minutes of him waiting - we’re talking like 3 minutes if that.

Also I’d like to think common sense would again prevail that if you beeped someone and they still didn’t do what you’re commanding them to do then maybe they are also … unable to move?

Reminds me of the time there was some road works near me. There were signs indicating this for several yards beforehand as well. Anyway, lights our end were red, so I was sat there waiting behind a couple of other cars. Mr White Van man comes speeding up behind beeps and flashes me and then overtakes. I slow clapped him when he realised I had not stopped in the middle of a main road for shits and giggles and he had to reverse back behind me.

Sadly that’s not worked for Trump yet.
