Did a top up shop earlier, just of the bits we’ve run out of.

Two tubs of cream cheese
Veggie meatballs
Oat milk
Reduced loaf of bread
3 x Passata
2 x yoghurt tubs
6 apples
Margarine
4 x toilet rolls
Sink unblocker

One of the big four supermarkets. How much do you think it would cost? I was really surprised.

I’ll update with the cost soon

MasterBeth · 25/02/2024 15:58

SoftandQuiet · 25/02/2024 16:01

£27

MadamVastra · 25/02/2024 16:01

I was coming on to say £31 as well!

RagzRebooted · 25/02/2024 16:01

£23-35 depending on type/brand

shoppingcost · 25/02/2024 16:01

Fair enough. Maybe it’s not as outrageous as I was thinking. Majority supermarket brand, 2 or 3 ‘branded’ items. £30. Just fed up! It would have been £20 a few years ago

Veggie meatballs? Does anyone see something wrong with that sentence?

it really depends on what brands you were going for. Anywhere between £25 and £50

No? Plant based meatballs, vegetarian meatballs… etc. you must have heard people say veggie mince / veggie nuggets. Or are you just being pedantic?

No, nothing wrong with it at all.

Yeah 33 was my guess.

Mad, isn't it? Tomato puree (own brand) was 63p last time I bought it. 35p for the last few years and I remember it being 25p
Probably out of season, but a cucumber for 90p also shocked me.
Butter is thankfully down to £1.69 now, from the high of £2 but so much else is still going up.

lifebeginsaftercoffee · 25/02/2024 16:03

I think £30 is about right.

Vegetarian "meat" items aren't cheap, and neither is oat milk.

LammasEve · 25/02/2024 16:04

Depends how much oat milk, I can easily spend £20 just on that so it could easily be £40.
